Diner Reviews
  • "Excellent food - we were recommended this restaurant while visiting Las Vegas and can now understand why. We were warned it was a little expensive but we didn't mind paying a bit extra for delicious food & very attentive service. Will spread the word about Yellowtail to our family & friends & make sure they too make a reservation when in Vegas. This is definitely a restaurant we will return to!!!"

  • "Highly recommend this restaurant. Great service and attention from the time you check in with the hostess until your check arrives."

  • "My wife and I ate at Yellowtail on a Friday night. We requested a table on the outside patio overlooking the fountains (best seat in the house) and the request was granted. The outside patio at Yellowtail probably affords the best view in Las Vegas and you have a first row view of the fountain show, very intimate and romantic. Unfortunately, that's where the only good part of this review ends. My wife ordered a miso soup, and a couple of sushi rolls. I ordered a seaweed salad and some assorted sashimi. My seaweed salad and my wife's soup came out promptly. My wife's first sushi roll came out. She then ordered another sushi roll. It then came out. 45 minutes after she finished,I finally got my sashimi and that was after we asked the waiter."

  • "Good food. Pathetic service , pushy and overbearing staff . Will never come back or recommend . We were celebrating two birthdays and we cut short our meal and went somewhere else. There are plenty of fantastic restaurants in Vegas that are worth your time or money . This is not one of them ."

  • "The sushi was great! Loved the protein roll, I came back and ordered for lunch the next day. Beautiful views of the fountains too!"

  • "A simple 'chef''s choice' order for a birthday dinner party for five friends took nearly three hours--spent at a dark table, trying to hear each other over insanely loud music, echoing walls and everyone else in the restaurant shouting over the cumulative 110 db (measured on a couple apps). Waiter tried to get it turned down and speed up the food but we waited over a half hour each between only three items. Final "Bring food or bring check" brought another apology and half hour wait for a couple of hot nibbles. The offered free dessert helped a bit but we left still hungry, jangled and annoyed. Food was great. Would not go back."

  • "My husband and I had dinner at yellowtail before seeing a show. We had an early reservation and we're quickly offered outside seating with an amazing view of the fountains. Service was outstanding our waiter answered all our questions and help us make decisions. We straight away from the most popular shared plates and went with The octopus appetizer with jalapeno vinaigrette. It was perfect. Our favorite roll by far was the high-stakes. It was a perfect balance and I highly recommend it. We will return to Yellowtail."

  • "I had a great dinner there! They had some very unique and delicious signature dishes. I particularly enjoyed the Big Eye Tuna Pizza, Lobster Carpaccio, Broiled Atlantic Black Cod, Baked Crab Hand Rolls and Popping Spicy Crab!!! These were all fantastic. I'd definitely recommend going if you are looking for a fun night out with some great food. Try to get a table with a view that looks out over the Bellagio fountains. Be careful as the dishes do add up in price."

  • "Not only are the traditional sushi dishes great at Yellowtail, but the menu also contains a number of unique and delicious warm and cold plates. The Tempura King Crab and Rock Shrimp warm plates are amazing! Our waiter, Seth, was very knowledgeable and friendly. He encouraged us to ask questions about the menu, and gave us very helpful suggestions. This is the second time I have eaten at Yellowtail (the first time for my wife), and we certainly plan to make it a regular part of our Vegas vacations."

  • "The food and service were both excellent, but the prices are outrageous. We ate sushi at another local restaurant in the same week, where the food and service was comparable with not so exorbitant prices."

  • "The location and view at the Bellagio was excellent. The food was very delicious but the portions were small. We ordered 3 sides of fried rice to go with our dinner and was surprised when the bill came ($25/small bowl of vegetable fried rice). It was very pricey. Think I will try another Japanese restaurant on my next trip to Vegas."

  • "Everytime we come to Vegas I have to get reservations here in the patio and watch the fountains while enjoyin amazing food and service! Love this place!"

  • "It matched my expectation based on review. The food was good but pricey. The service started out slow but improved. Overall, an enjoyable meal."

  • "We took our son to Yellowtail for his 21st Birthday and it did not disappoint. If you love sushi this is the place to go in Vegas. Not only was the food and atmosphere great but our server, Theo did an outstanding job! He answered all of questions, made great recommendations and even took a few pictures of us. It was a great dinner and would highly recommend!"

  • "The noise level was painful. Maybe within reason for a nightclub, but definitely way too much for a restaurant. The menu looked great, and we even got a sip of a cocktail before realizing that we couldn't continue. We asked for a quieter seat and was informed that there were none, so we left."

  • "You cannot get a decent dinner for 2 for less than $200, so not for the average income family. Very sad, plus the "shared plates" are so small that they cannot be "shared" with anyone. PLUS they are all over $25 each. Again very sad. I will not return nor will I recommend this restaurant to any of my friends and family. When my professional organization returns in October I will definitely not be booking this place for any of my groups. This is definitely not a 3 $$$ restaurant, it is mislabeled, its is a 5 $$$$$ and over priced."

  • "Great drink (Sunset). Small portions for the price tag. Very loud. Food was very good but I doubt I would go back unless we were desperate for sushi. You could watch the Bellagio fountain show which was a plus."

  • "My wife & I went here for a nice date night away from our kids. The chef created some of the most creative and tasty sushi plates we have eaten...ever. In specific, we had a fresh tuna flatbread "pizza" with some white truffle oil on it...I wish I could have made that dish last longer-absolutely out of this world! The restaurant looks over the Strip and at the Paris. Atmosphere is a peaceful and romantically lit modern decor located in a corner of the Bellagio casino. We were promptly seated by great staff. Prices were on the high side, but in line with nicer spots in Vegas. Treating my wife to the night was well worth it. Great service, great atmosphere, and some of the very best food I've ever had make this a top notch choice."

  • "Enjoy high quality sushi on the patio while experiencing the Fountains of Bellagio each half hour. The sushi was so fresh and tasty. There was a slight mist coming over the patio as the fountains burst with the music. Pretty awesome dinning experience. The bar and inside of the restaurant is nice too."

  • "Scottish salmon sashimi, king crab tempura, ankimo, and sesame greens were all Amazing! but warning that it is very loud and difficult to hear each other. they enthusiastically kept our wine glasses full!"

  • "we like sushi and eat it quite often!when we arrived we got a really nice table by the fountain! it was a little bit cold outside but with the heating everything was fine! but after five minutes the heating next to us was gone and it started smelling like gas. i told the waiter and he said he is going to give us another table as soon as possible... he never did! instead the gas smell got really annoying and it was kind of cold! we ordered three differnt rolls and two different sushi! the rolls were really tiny and i had the feeling they had them in the fridge cause the rice tasted old! the fish was fresh though! it had "ok" quality but after a 130 dollar bill i expect to go home happy without being hungry. really disappointing experience!"

  • "This was THE best sushi that I have had to-date. I love sushi and am very picky about my locations, but this proved to be the best joint I have been to. Wine list was spectacular - coupled with dinner, this is a must for everyone to visit on their trip to Vegas. If it was a little closer to me (from Nashville), I would be there a few times per month!"

  • "This is where I went for my 21st birthday when I was in Las Vegas. It was absolutely perfect. There were 3 of us at the dinner and we all though the food was excellent. It is tapas style dining but with sushi. We had a variety of sushi and dessert. The whole night was perfect!"

  • "One of the best restaurants of any type that we've frequented. Imaginative menu with the best fish in the country. Extremely attentive professional service. This is a fabulous restaurant with views of the Bellagio fountains."

  • "We made a reservation weeks in advance. When we arrived were told there would be an hour wait for an outside table. We accepted a table "near" the window. We were not even offered the menus for another 5-7 minutes. Once we decided that getting a bottle of wine was a better option ($15-$30 if ordered by the glass), the first two we ordered were not available. The wine glasses (considering that most wines on the menu cost in three digits) were cheap, joker glasses. We were recommended to get several small plates to share. We ordered 5 small plates plus Edemame, 1 bottle of wine and 1 bottle of unfiltered Saki. Our bill for this was almost $300 and we did not even feel like we ate dinner. I would not eat here again and waste my money."

  • "I don't want to leave a long review, but Yellowtail is fantastic. Definitely try the Big Eye Tuna pizza. It's just tuna carpaccio on a super thin crust with truffle oil and micro greens. So good. It only looks like a pizza. I promise there isn't any tomato sauce or cheese on it. In fact, that would be gross."

  • "The last time I ordered the clear soup and it was too salty so I gave it back and ordered the miso instead and it was also too salty. Other than that, the food was great. Oysters were great. Thank you!"

  • "I took my boyfriend for dinner here for his birthday. He said it was one of the nicest restaurants he'd been to in Las Vegas. They seated us near a window where we could view the fountains. This made it a very special experience for us. One of the waiters took our picture with the beautiful view behind us. Our waiter (I, unfortunately, cannot remember his name) was excellent. He was attentive yet not intrusive. He also came across as very friendly and helpful. We thought the portions were small but the food quality was excellent. The restaurant had a quiet ambiance that we found very relaxing. We both ordered desserts and they placed a tiny candle on my boyfriend's dessert plate. It was a very nice touch."

  • "From the Hostess, to the waiter, food and drink all perfect. And what can we say about dining al fresco in February when we are from NY. Amazing. The fountains are my absolute favorite thing about Vegas, I appreciate the outdoor dining tremendously. Our waiter made a perfect evening only better."

  • "we had a great night - sitting out on the patio under the heaters kept us warm as we ate and watched the fountains while listening to the music. My date and I had a wonderful time and I would recommend it. The prices might seem high for what you get but for us it was well worth it."

  • "Yellowtail has a fabulous selection of sushi and small plates (tapas style) featuring fresh ingredients flown in from Japan. If you arrive early you may be seated on the outdoor terrace overlooking the famous Bellagio Fountains and Eiffel tower of the Paris Hotel. Service was excellent.. This is probably the best tasting food I have ever eaten. Worth the price."

  • "We sat at bar while our table was set Great bar-not busy We were celebrating w/ a bottle of champagne Bartender looked confused & gave a man our order We were seated at a most romantic table Perfect! Waiter came & was told we had ordered 42 min later-the waiter brings the bottle he says "they opened it already for you" We refused the "opened" bottle & asked for another. We waited 15 minutes We got up & left. Our $150 bottle of champagne still had not arrived The waiter saw us leave but did nothing The restaurant wasn't full so no excuses I told hostess that we were leaving because of poor service she said "okay" & smiled Too bad that because restaurants don't think they'll see you again that they don't care about the service"

  • "Best presentation of (very nice) sushi I have seen. Creative. Striking. Pass on the duck prosciutto. Service was good. Seasoned waiter. Hostess dropped the ball. She did not deliver requested and promised cards for manager and chef. She apparently missed the journalist word in the request.... or it went over her head. Normal conversation was next to impossible. And that was prior to arrival obnoxious females. But, it is Vegas. Malbec"
