  • Parking Details: There is parking available on North Westmoreland Street or in the Public Parking garage across the street in the Crescent Towers. The Econo Lodge doesn't mind if we park in the lower end of their parking lot, if it appears that they are not too busy.

Yayla Bistro is delighted to offer delicious and healthy Mediterranean cuisine to our local neighbors in Northern Virginia. We are conveniently located close to I-66 for easy access to Washington DC and Maryland as well. If traveling by metro, Yayla Bistro is located only 4 blocks from the East Falls Church station.

Our experienced Turkish chefs incorporate centuries-old traditions and fine culinary skills to prepare traditional dishes of the Mediterranean Sea region. We provide an unforgettable dining experience by offering a variety of small plates to mix and match or share with your friends and family.

In addition to our regular dining room, Yayla Bistro also has a full-service bar area featuring specialty drinks and a Happy Hour menu. As the weather permits, we also have plenty of outdoor patio seating. We have something for everyone.

  • "Although we didn't realize that Yayla Bistro only serves small plates, we were pleasantly surprised by the numerous choices available, including both cold and hot choices. We chose fried calamari, which were delicious which were served with a white yogurt dipping sauce. A good selection of pides as well. The shrimp dish was delicious, although a bit pricey as you only get four; our waitress did advise us of this fact, and with the delicious bread, we were happy to sop up the very tasty sauce. Smaller, but adequate wine list. Inside is pleasant, if a bit dark, and there also is outside seating if you don't mind the cars parked close to the patio area."

  • "We (group of 4) came on a Sat'd evening, July 4th, with few people in the restaurant at 6:30PM. gave us corner table for quiet as we requested, but few people in the restaurant. Appetizers good, but extremely small portions for price. Entrees (fresh fish, chicken kabob) all quite good, and appropriately sized. Red lentil soup excellent. Flat bread very good. Salad and vege's can be purchased separately; and good. Baklava ok, but not tops.. Liked the intimacy, attention, and explanations of the unusual fare... Described by staff as a Turkish restaurant, but greek in the open table listing.... although foods are similar, Mediterranean. Would be happy to go back and try some other items."

  • "I'm thrilled this restaurant is in my neighborhood! I was expecting it to be good, but the experience was the best all-round dining experience I've had in a while. Small plates, entrees and desserts are meant to be shared. Try the Spinach Pide (w/mozzarella, tomato, onion and feta) which is described as a flatbread. I was pleasantly surprised that the bread wasn't extremely thin and hard.... Among my 2 friends and me, 1 had shrimp, 1 had a chicken dish, and I had the lamb chops. Still dreaming about those. I rarely order dessert, but made an exception for apricots stuffed with walnuts in a mascarpone cheese sauce, and finally home made baklava. Go check it out!"

  • "This is the third or fourth time I have been to this new restaurant and it was just as good as the first time. The first time brought me back again. The food is fabulous and the service is wonderful. They genuinely want to please and they function much better than most new restaurants. I'm glad to see that they were busy! I have sent others as well and they loved it. I booked a big party for my Fiance on Tuesday and the group of 8 loved it."

  • "Yayla serves Eastern Mediterranean food -- Greek/Turkish/Lebanese. The menu has a wide variety of cold appetizers to choose from -- and we particularly enjoyed the Ezme (like a Turkish Salsa) and Cacik (yogurt-based sauce). We had the Falafel Salad, which was suitable for two people and served in a red vinegar dressing. The falafel was a bit overcooked. We also had the Adena Kebab, which is seasoned ground lamb served on skewers. Not as good as the appetizers or salad; the lamb could have been seasoned better. This is a good neighborhood find, and a 5 minute walk from East Falls Church Metro."

  • " A new wait staff was not the same caliber as when we went in April. The place was empty for a Thursday night before 8pm but the waiter was not very attentive-he seemed really preoccupied! The apps, eggplant and a shepards salad were average. The moussaka still is good. The waiter brought our entrees when we were not finished with the appetizers? Maybe he wanted us to leave so he could go home- because my sister was finishing her tea & he came with the check before we asked for it! Also, do not order a martini there. They charge you $3 for the vermouth, which most bartenders never put in a martini! Don't think I will return and its sad since I live in the neighborhood. Not being consistently good is really bad for a business!!!"

There was some terrific music playing in the background but it was low and non-intrusive. Furthermore, it was a mixture of various genres and most enjoyable."

  • "We were greeted very warmly here, and really felt welcome and appreciated. The decor is beautiful, and the tables are spaced nicely so you are not sitting right on top of anyone else. The menu was nice because it provided the ingredients of the dishes with exotic (Turkish) names. The food was very good, and the service was excellent. The only thing is, my husband and I did not find the food so outstanding that we would rush back. The beet salad wasn't particularly memorable, especially the dressing. The rice was plain. The food was beautifully presented, however, and all tasted good. It's a nice spot, and I wish great success to the owners!"

  • "This restaurant gives new meaning to the term "Mom and Pop restaurant". The fare is fantastic, and I haven't had a dinner yet that did not delight or surprise me. The dishes have subtle flavors that come forth as the meal is consumed. The wait staff really know their stuff, and we found it especially fun when we were served by one of the sons or daughters of the owner/chef. I've recommended Yayla to friends, and all have enjoyed the place. It's great to have this dining gem so close to home."

  • "Everything tasted great and service was amazing once we sat down. Best dish of the night was the Grilled Calamari. Cooked perfectly and seasoned just enough! All the servers were very personable and friendly without being overly in your face. As for dessert, we ordered one of each of the 3 desserts and everyone loved all of them. Dinner for 5 people (3 courses with soft drinks) came out to just about $120 with tip. I don't think you could go wrong at this place. I hope they hire a real hostess to seat guests, and to keep on doing a great job at everything else!"

She came over often to ask if we were ready for our next course or the check and was clearly hoping we'd clear the table quickly so she could sit the next party. The menu is plentiful, featuring small plates which are just sufficient for a great meal. There were 4 of us, each having a different item and all of us enjoyed our food immensely and will be back again -- and again -- to this lovely addition to the neighborhood. I would give it 4 stars out of 4."

  • "Just moved to the area and had seen this cute restaurant passing through the neighborhood. Thought it looked like an interesting place to dine. Made a reservation for Mother's Day dinner and was very pleased with the service, food, and atmosphere. The restaurant is tastefully decorated with a gold and dusty blue theme throughout with an understated elegance. Our waitress was clear and engaging when discussing the dishes and offered us the perfect amount of time between taking our order and checking in with us after. The dishes were fairly small but our waitress had informed us of this and stated that traditionally, multiple dishes are ordered in essence creating a 3 course meal for individuals. Delicious food and outstanding service!"

Enjoyed Efes lager, cold dip trio, cigar pastry appetizers, Bronzino and lamb chops. All fresh and delicious. Ended with Turkish coffee. Clean, bright, and plenty of space between tables. Highly recommend."

Moussaka was light yet rich in flavor. Bakhlava and Turkish coffee to end your meal should not be passed up. "

  • "This is a new place a nice addition to the neighborhood. I had dinner there recently and found it nice to look at but bland to the palate. Their Baba Ghanoush had none of the nutty eggplant/tahini essence. Frankly, it had no flavor. The small lamb skewers on the other hand were cooked well and seasoned brightly. I suppose they are anxious to please, being new, but they could reduce the number of table "how is everything" visit by half and still be attentive. I hope they improve in their efforts. It would be good to have them close by."

  • "The food is wickedly delicious; especially the imam bayildi, htipiti and boregi appetizers and the Adana kebab and bronzino entrees. Everything is beautifully presented; a real feast for both the eye and the palate. The portions are European sized, going for quality rather than quantity - a real hit in my book! The Yakut (red) wine nicely complements any of these dishes. The service is friendly yet professional and very accommodating. The noise level can be a little high at times but on the whole it is pretty good A real gem of a restaurant and we are already thinking about what we will order next time!"

  • "We love Turkish/Mediterranean food and wanted to try this place out as soon as we heard about it. It more than exceeded our expectations. The food was great, moderately priced, excellent service and the restaurant is very tastefully decorated, which creates a nice ambiance. We had our kids with us, which was not a problem at all, but I could also see going there on date night or with a group of friends. The bar also looked nice, although it was empty on the Sunday evening we were there. We will definitely be back!"

It is nice that they have a full bar and they make excellent martinis. The atmosphere is clean, crisp and inviting. The service is attentive and gracious. If they continue in this mode......this new bistro should flourish! We will be back very soon."
