Diner Reviews
  • "We had a problem with undercooked pink chicken (promptly attended to by the waitress), plus a piece of paper in the masked potatoes, providing evidence that the potatoes originated in some sort of paper container before being prepared for serving. On the plus side, the Yardley Inn is not overpriced."

  • "The Inn is always lovely and brimming with guests. The ambience is always what you are looking for...romantic in the evenings, fun and lively around the bar at happy hour and a place to just lay back, sip great wine and enjoy the view. The food is delicious and we are never disappointed!"

  • "Group of six, we were positioned right on the line between their two main rooms and thus caught in the middle of banter between other tables. It was loud enough no one could hear anyone other than immediately next to them. After about 7:30-8 they started playing music at the bar which we were also right next to and that didnt help matters at all. Additionally there was no light other than the fake candle at the table, so by the time dinner came out (about 90 minutes after ordering) you could tell there was a plate with stuff on it but you couldnt see what it was. Service was slow except for water and clearing tables."

  • "After driving by a billboard for the Yardley Inn everyday for the past 7 months, I finally decided to try it; I am very glad I did! My husband and I went there for lunch on a beautiful Saturday and sat outside. I couldn't have asked for a better experience."

  • "Given the choice between a bag of M&Ms and the Brussels sprouts, I would choose the sprouts. Sorry M&Ms, you used to be so good."

  • "We have eaten there many times since 1974. Last Thursday, there were seven of us. The service was excellent in every way. Appetizers delicious and entrées outstanding. Our seven ordered a variety of items. However, those who ordered the bread pudding for dessert got cupcake-sized hockey pucks. The size was no problem, however, the hardness of the bread pudding was totally unacceptable. Overall, definitely worth a try."

  • "I haven't been there for almost 20 years and I'm glad I went back. What a gem. I'm almost wishing for winter to sit in the fireplace room."

  • "Always a great meal at the Yardley Inn. Its more of an upscale restaurant with a great view of the Delaware River. No kids running around the dining room made it especially enjoyable."

  • "The waitstaff needs better training. I cannot think of a time I've eaten at the restaurant when the service is competent, not intrusive or professional. The food is usually good but this time, too much sodium and overlooked. The garden salad was hardly imaginative especially at such a cost!"

  • "The Yardley Inn is offering its lunch-for-less on weekdays. It's $15 for three courses, and a generous glass of house wine is $5.00. The food never disappoints; you'd think they'd offer a restricted menu for that price, but the choices are extensive and attractive. I had a dinner-sized portion of grilled salmon over tiny black lentils with a great sauce. One of my friends just ordered the salad with chicken, which she reported was good, and my other friend had the pasta special of the day, which she loved. You can't beat the view of the Delaware from the front windows, and the entire place is elegant. I've been choosing this place for lunch with friends for awhile now, and have not been disappointed, ever."

  • "Yardley Inn is great for so many reasons, not the least of which is a excellent early dinner selection. 3 course meal from 4:30 - 6:00 for under $20. The crabcake and chocolate ganache cake recommended. Wait staff is very accommodating. Love the view of the water. Large enough to accommodate any size group, yet many tables for 2 near the water. Lively bar."

  • "I find the servers are always personable, food preperation and presentation is flawless. Love to watch the Delaware River roll by as I sip a cocktail."

  • "I like the interior of this converted old mansion. The noise level was more than I liked, making it difficult to hear my guests but not excessive. If you have the right table, the view is excellent of the river although the semi busy street outside detracts a little from the ambiance. Overall, I recommend this for almost any sort of occasion."

  • "Went there for lunch. My husband ordered kale salad with grilled chicken. The chicken breast was over cooked . He also ordered the hummus and it was just ok. I had the filet mignon sandwich. It was pretty good."

  • "My wife and I love the Yardley Inn. So much in fact that we have brought many guests to the Inn over the 20 - 25 dining occasions that we have been there. The menu is versatile and our favorite starter is the Calamarri. Different than most places due to the peppers and spice it is tossed with. Most recently we were there for lunch and the Burger I had was cooked to perfection and tasty. Two of our guests had the Salmon with Spinach and black beans and they raved about it throughout the day. If you love good service, good food and pleasant surroundings, this is the place for you."

  • "We've been to the YI many times -- and so, after a little local theatre on Saturday nite, we took 3 friends there who were not familiar with the restaurant. They were delighted -- the food was just to their liking (and one of them is a proud gourmand), and it was a great time. Even my simple Margherita salad with grilled salmon was perfect! The noise level was....lively -- it was a saturday nite after all -- but we assured them usually when we've been there it's been more subdued and better for serious talks... but it was still possible to visit; it was not one of those scenes where you cant hear yourself think. But, if you're going after 9 on a saturday, when making a reservation, I might try asking specifically for a "quiet corner"."

  • "Once a month i meet up with my four girlfriends and we always enjoy our meals at the Yardley Inn. We do get there before 6:00pm to take advantage of the three course meal for $19.99 which is a great value and a very nice selection of entrees. We will be returning in the future."

  • "The Yardley Inn is a great place for a lunch date. The view of the Delaware River is beautiful at any time of the year. Their wait staff is attentive and courteous. The Inn's 3 courses for $15 offers delicious options for a satisfying meal."

  • "I went to Yardley Inn for a first date, and we both suggested it, so it's reputation is good. The ambience is very good, and that's it right on the river is an added bonus. Our server was great, but the noise was louder than I anticipated, so it became a little challenging to hear my somewhat soft-spoken date."

  • "Food was over cooked. Was there for the $19.95 deal. Was over charged.. 6 meals came to $250.00 ,with only 3 alcohol drinks total."

  • "Food was great, prices are good. Only thing a little off was our waiter seemed just a little pushy for my taste. He just seemed to be rushing us, didn't appreciate that very much. Other than that great place to eat right off the Delaware river."

  • "It was a very good meal from the 'Lunch for Less' menu; ham and been soup, a nice piece of sea bass, and a seasonal dessert. Great food and great service which I find so dependable at this restaurant!"

  • "B plus for food although I wasn't impressed by the ice cream (a minor detail!) High noise level (loud rather than "energetic") makes conversation a little difficult, especially when music in the bar is added to the mix. We had to wait 30 minutes past our reservation time for a table to free up and we didn't want to go in the overcrowded and noisy bar. I would recommend this place on the basis of the food--maybe it's more peaceful at lunchtime?"

  • "We enjoyed the early bird special ($19.95 for 3 course meal). There was an excellent choice of salads, entrees and desserts. The food is prepared tastefully in all ways! Tasted great, looked great! The chef has wonderful creations, creatively using vegetables in new ways that totally complement the meat or fish. I was very thankful to be there! Also, the waiter was very helpful and attentive. And it was great to be able to look out over the Delaware River."

  • "Have been going to Yardley Inn for years and have always been 100% satisfied. Tonight was that rare exception when their signature dish, pork paprikash, came out with burned noodles. Waiter offered to take the dish back and I declined, so the Inn did offer to correct the situation. Other meals that night at our table were excellent as always."

  • "I made reservations for my husbands birthday and I am glad I did. The food was fantastic and they accommodated my request for a table by the window. (We had a very nice view of the river) Our Menus came out and there was a happy birthday message on them for us. That was such a nice touch! We will definitely be back. We loved it!!"

  • "Overall place was very nice and the views are great. Food was great as well as the service. We were sat right away and it was all good from there on. We had 5:30 reservations and at first thought it was an old folks home since I'm 40 and for sure were the youngest in the place. However by the time we left we could see the younger crowd growing. We will definitely go back here again."
