A word from Yardbird Southern Table & Bar
Bringing the best fried chicken and freshest farm ingredients from Florida and Georgia to the table since 2011, Yardbird has since garnered the praises of the James Beard Foundation as a semi-finalist for “Best New Restaurant South” and as one of Bon Appétit’s “50 Best New Restaurants” in 2012. Yardbird sticks to the values of tradition, family, and community with a menu of “soul-nurturing” dishes intended for sharing. A warm, comforting environment lets guests feel relaxed and at home while dining at Yardbird. Southern touches add to the nostalgia, like antique candlestick holders, wildflowers on all the tables, and handmade light fixtures outfitted with Edison bulbs in Mason jars.Continued

  • "This was our second visit, our first was this time last year. Food was amazing both times. Deviled eggs, fried green tomatoes, ribs, and fried chicken were all delicious!! We had no room left for dessert. Don't overlook the amazing selection of bourbons. I enjoy my brown liquors "neat" but they make some delicious bourbon cocktails. Would recommend without hesitation."

  • "My boyfriend is a bourbon enthusiast and Yardbird gave us an amazing selection. The bar staff was friendly and attentive even with the crowd and when we were seated, our server was helpful in choosing the perfect cocktails and brunch items to suit our taste. Brunch was amazing! We shared chicken biscuits, pork croquette and the Mac and cheese and there isn't one thing I would change. The dried flowers in bourbon bottle vases were simple and pretty decor. A friend told us it's $20 to valet. We parked in the garage at Lincoln Ave and walked the short distance. Much cheaper."

  • "How this place ends up as one of the top rated restaurants in Miami is beyond me. We ordered the fried chicken and ribs to share. Just average plain fried chicken and average ribs. Both come with no sides just 3 pieces of chicken and a stack of ribs but they come with a $25 to $26 each price tag. We ordered a side of fried kale with bacon and it was terrible. Kale fried in bacon fat - yuck. I guess my bad for expecting something more than cafe style fried chicken and ribs experience in one of Miamis top restaurants. Definitely the most disappointing restaurant we visited in Miami. Tourist trap is the only way to describe this place."

  • "Overall, Yardbird lives up to its reputation. This is a fast-paced South Beach comfort food style restaurant with innovative drinks and food items. Get the mac n cheese and cheddar waffle!"

  • "Ishmael took very good care of us. I had been there before but my bf had not. He had 2 raspberry lemonade (house specialty) and he is not a drinker. I had the Andy Gator beer, strong and refreshing. We started out with the frog legs. They were the least gamey we have ever tried. They were actually crispy. We shared he fried chicken with cheddar waffles and watermelon. OMG!!! The biscuits and the mac n cheese are the perfect touch. I wish we would have saved room for dessert, ugh. Next time for sure :)"

  • "Unbelievable food in a fun, upscale but relaxed room. But come for the fabulous food. Don's miss the chicken, the mac and cheese, the chicken liver toast (really!) and have a beer. Take home what you don't eat or be careful when you order. Portions are generous! This is a must visit Miami newcomer!"

  • "On a four-day trip to South Beach, this was the highlight. Each of us had the "Blue Plate Special," iced tea. We split a sundae. The service, in keeping with the Southern theme, was attentive and friendly. We ate on a lazy Monday afternoon, avoiding the Sunday brunch crowd. We had the porch almost to ourselves. The inside is charming and has a great atmosphere, but the weather was too perfect to stay inside. It's pricy--as is all of South Beach--but this one is worth it. If I did it again, I'd forego the sundae in favor of another side--mac and cheese or grits probably. A great place for a relaxed afternoon meal, and if you're lucky enough to catch it when it's not crowded, it's a great place to linger."

  • "Great southern cooking in a casual but well designed setting. Friendly and knowledgable device. Terrific and well thought out cocktail menu, extremely well stocked bar. Be sure to make a reservation; it fills up quickly and early."

  • "I have dined here for brunch, lunch and dinner. The brunch menu is varied and extensive but really noisy. Lunch is also good and the restaurant has a much quieter noise level. You really need a reservation for the dinner hour."

  • "I was told of the spot by a co-worker of mine. He showed me some photo's on the website and the food looked fabulous. The combinations of the dishes on the menu really got my mouth watering. I ended up making the reservations about 3 weeks later (only because of a busy schedule) and the wife and I checked it out. We both enjoyed our entree's but make sure you are hungry for the share entree's are more than enough for two. We enjoyed the service, our server (I believe his name was Ishmael) was Great!!!!!! He made the experience enjoyable. I cant think of anything that would have made the experience better. I have already recommended the spot to my friends. I will definitely be returning!!!!!!!!!!"

  • "Purely based on a recommendation, I thought of this place in finding that I'd be in Miami in March. So I took to Opentable to book and to find that there was only ONE reservation opening during my four day trip. We got to Yardbird, as we waited for our party, we hit the bar and THOROUGHLY enjoyed the Blckbrry Bourbon Lemonade. It was very refreshing, not overly strong. We were seated in front and Randy was our server, he was amazing. He explained that sometimes our eyes can be bigger than our stomach so he suggested ordering family/sharing style. BEST ADVICE EVER. Try the FRIED CHICKEN, WAFFLE, MAC & CHZ and SHRIMP AND GRITS! Amazing experience. We leave. I notice I left my glasses but the Maitre'D sent them to me in NYC! #weloveuMARISA"

  • "When I saw that Yardbird had Fried chicken AND a 60+ bourbon list, I knew it was a match made in heaven. My husband is a whiskey nut, and I'm all about the fried chicken, so a great night was had by all. I even got on the whiskey train and tried their fabulous blueberry/lemonade/bourbon cocktail. Delicious deviled eggs and yummy mac and cheese as well. As good as my Granny used to make except I got a cocktail at Yardbird and Granny didn't mess with no white lightning. :)"

  • "This is my go to place for when I crave southern food. I've been here many times and it hasn't let me down yet! The fried chicken, baked maccoroni and cheese, kale salad, waffle with cheddar cheese, just to mention a few yummy dishes! Any of my friends that have gone there with me has become hooked. The staff is friendly along with amazing service. Thank you Yardbird you are always consistent and delicious!!!"

  • "In Miami Beach for vacation? Yardbird should be a required stop. The best fried chicken and biscuits I've ever had, and our hard-to-please 2-year old scarfed it down. If you have kids, go for lunch -- it's quiet and comfortable for them when the place opens at 11:30. Miami residents are lucky!"

  • "It's we'll prepared fancy southern comfort food. The day we went the chicken fryer was out as were some of the starters which was a disappointment. But what we did have was tasty. Service was great."

  • "Amazing fried chicken. Some very interesting starter plates. Everything we tried was very good. Unfortunately no room for dessert. We ate in the small outdoor section so the noise level was quite manageable - I think it may have been a different story inside. If I make it to this restaurant again I definitely want to try one of the awesome looking cocktails. Stuck to beer this time (and they had a very nice selection of craft beer). We booked on short notice and were only available to secure a 5pm seating on a Saturday evening. Popular place - it was already BUSY! I'm not complaining - at least they were able to accommodate us. Service was helpful but unassuming. Recommended."

  • "Fried chicken, mac n cheese, watermelon, kale salad. I order you to order that with a friend and share! Such amazing food- every bite delicious. Top it off with a bacon donut. The cocktails are delicious as well. Love this place! Wish they'd open something in Manhattan."

  • "We tried Yardbird during a trip to Miami and it was so good we went back the next night!!! The place feels very authentic, friendly, and of course the food was out of this world. Excellent bourbon drinks as well. Quiet and casual enough for families with kids early on, but it picks up after about 8 pm."

  • "It's a very hot spot. Stayed in Miami for my anniversary could not get table all booked up. So next weekend for date night with my wife. I was able to make a 10:30pm reservation. We drove down from Coral Springs, it was well worth it! The chicken is the best I ever had and the waffles were real good too!"

  • "This is our favorite Miami Beach restaurant--our go-to for fun birthday and other celebratory dinners. Excellent food, huge portions, knowledgeable and friendly waitstaff who *never* pressure you to over-order (in fact, just the opposite--they tell me if I'm ordering too much, and always get it *just* right!). Pricey, but always worth the splurge!"

  • "wonderfully crisp fried chicken; yummy sweet potato fries dipped in buttermilk/bacon dressing; fried foods didn't have that greasy taste that you find in other places; water glass constantly refilled without requesting; would definitely come back the next time we're in Miami"

  • "I brought a friend to Yardbird, assuring her the fried chicken was sublime. After her first bite, she didn't say another word until she had vacuumed every morsel off the bones. Every part of the meal was extremely well-prepared and absolutely delicious."

  • "I don't know what more to say. This is one of my favorite places. I have been again and again and have tried the entire menu and I keep coming back. Friendly service, not snotty like other south beach hot spots. I'm in love!"

  • "The food is great here -- unbelievably good fried chicken, as advertised! When you order, they tell you "we bring everything out as it's ready." OK, fine. But the problem is that the fried chicken came out within about four minutes (before our drinks were even served) and the sides came out 25 MINUTES LATER. Sorry, that's unacceptable -- what's the point of a side if the main dish comes out so much sooner? It may have been our server --she forgot things like refills and coffee. However, I will say it's a fun place and the food is really terrific."

  • "I ate there with 2 friends and we shared 4 dishes. We had the kale salad, waffle, shrimp and grits, and chicken and biscuits. Everything was excellent. The biscuits are delectable with the butter and jam. I could have done without the tomatillo sauce on the waffle, but other than that we all enjoyed the food. Our waiter was helpful and very accommodating. We ended up sitting outside. It was a little hot in the Miami sun, but coming from Michigan we welcomed the warmth."

  • "We were in Miami last December and tried to get into Yardbird but it was completely booked. We knew were coming back in March so made reservations in advance and we were very impressed with the great food and suggestions from our waitress. Had the fried green tomato BLT to start which was excellent. Chicken & waffles were amazing. Ribs were tasty but not slow smoked like a true BBQ joint but the sauce was great and we ate them all. The dessert of choice was the lemon tart. Great place."

  • "The deviled egg appetizer was unique and awesome, the fried chicken (signature dish) was the best I've ever eaten and the lemon chess pie was also awesome. The food was exceeded only by the service!"
