Fried oysters, shrimp with grits (yes!) and biscuits all delicious. Also great ribs, huge porterhouse, surprising fish, inventive salads (warm brussels sprouts leaves was a favorite). As if Daniel Boulud grew up in Tuscaloosa. Scene inside is energetic and cozy. Outside patio has a quieter vibe, but still vibes. Lots of cool beers on tap. Terrific, relaxed servers who go out of their way to be helpful and try to prevent you from over-ordering/over-eating, but good luck with that. The food is amazing (differant than the usual dining menu which We loved) the service is outstanding (and we eat out A LOT) and the decor is so unigue, warm and litterally soo cool. The menu was a chock full of awesomeness so it was difficult to decide. We shared a wedge salad, then I had the fried chicken and my guest had turkey pastrami sandwich. Then we had carrot cake for dessert. Everything was excellent. I brought my leftovers home and my husband at them. He could not stop raving!All in all Yardbird made our special day even more special. Servers were extremely attentive (just on the right side of not being annoying though). The dining room is bright and airy with a little whimsical feel to it. Decent drink menu. Which is hard to do.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMReal Food in South BeachYou'd never know this gem was in south beach as everyone things of Lincoln Road, Washington Ave or Ocean Drive. Walk/cab a few blocks in to 16/Lenox & get some real food, Southern style but upscale classy! The chicken biscuits were awesome as were the stuffed oysters. Portions are definitely large enough to share. We also had the ribs and took them back to the hotel for lunch the next day. Hubby had to try dessert, a southern take on key lime with home made whipped cream. Missed out on the wonderful bourbons, but the beers were great.
