  • "I was introduced to Yao Fuzi b a friend and immediately found it to be my new favorite restaurant. The food is incredibly fresh and delicious - different than your usual Chinese and so much better with new flavors and combinations. The staff makes you feel like family and takes great care of you. This was my first visit for lunch and I'll definitely be back. Not your usual lunch place, Yao Fuzi is quiet and welcoming with lighting that relaxes. I found it to be a respite from the busy day. This is Plano's best kept secret. I'll be back again very soon!"

  • "The food here is great but the dishes come out 2 seconds after you order. We wanted to enjoy some wine and drinks and a few appetizers but they were swarming around us to order and bringing things out almost immediately after. It was not a relaxing, dining experience."

  • "A distinctly different Chinese restaurant with dishes served nowhere else in the Dallas area. The menu selections are delicious, light, and tasty. The surroundings are elegant, and the staff is friendly and eager to accommodate you. Truly a unique experience."

  • "This was easy to rate, because everything was good; not great, but good. The young man who seated us was very nice and attentive. Service was nothing special, but good. Hot & Sour soup was very good, as were the crispy wontons that came with it. Combination fried rice was VERY bland. I had to ask for soy sauce and hot mustard. Would I recommend this restaurant? I suppose I would because there was really no reason NOT to recommend it. However, I think they could step up their game a bit."

  • "Hands down the best Chinese food in DFW. We always love the food and tell everyone we know about Yao Fuzi!"

  • "We have searched far and wide in this area for decent Chinese food. Yao Fuzi by far surpasses our expectations. The food is authentic, delicious and beautifully presented. It is not inexpensive but it is worth every penny. Coming from New York, our expectations are high for good Chinese food and Yao Fuzi fits the bill."

  • "We consider this place Asian-fusion with interesting takes on a typical menu. We love it and they never fail to please. They are very accommodating to those with spice intolerance making typically spicy dishes not spicy. The staff is friendly. The only complaint is that they are so good, the place is always packed and it is sometimes difficult to get the reservation time you want. Don't miss the curry calamari or the shredded pork and aged tofu!"

  • "Bar none fresh food great service but busy before 830 pm"

  • "Not kid friendly. Waitress was rude. The food, however, was excellent. Highly reccomend the pork & wheat buns as well as the fried halibut in tomato sauce. Good wine list."

  • "I took my wife to dinner for her birthday at Yao Fuzi. First of all there is a pretty good wine list for an Asia inspired restaurant. I have eaten at this restaurant a few times in the past and the food was always very good and I had never experienced anything but good service. On this night however that all changed - the service was abysmal - some of the worst service that I have ever endured at a semi fine dining restaurant. Our waitress brought our meals and we never saw her again. I will give the restaurant one more chance because good Chinese is hard to find in Dallas but if this experience is repeated I will never return. I hope that you have better luck"

  • "We have been here several times and each time, the food is outstanding and the level of service is higher than anywhere in Plano. In fact, this restaurant makes you feel like you are not in Plano. The wine list is fairly extensive for Plano, the menu selections are varied and each dish we ordered was fresh & delicious. We get the Curry Calamari every time - it is a must. Having recently moved from Dallas, where the restaurant scene is more progressive, Yao Fuzi is a pleasant change from your standard Plano dining experience. We love that it is family owned & operated, not a chain, that the family members are heavily involved and take pride in providing something different, something great for their guests/customer. Thank you Yao Fuzi!"

  • "One of the best for Chinese food, love the menu. There are the traditional choices you would like, but the Specialties are creative and gives you a great option for more than the traditional menu. Highly recommend."

  • "This is a great place with a few things on the menu that are authentic. Not like your typical chinese food restaurant. The service is great and the atmosphere is as well. A good "Date Night" place to go for sure."

  • "First time to this restaurant. It was a very enjoyable. The service was good and the food was great. They did have some unique dishes that I had never seen before at other restaurants so that was a nice change of pace. Only thing that kept the food from getting 5 stars was the spicy food was a little milder than I thought ti should have been. Other than that - I will be returning."

  • "What makes Yao Fuzi Great are the slight perfections to normally good Asian food. Batters are lighter that other restaurants, flavors and better than other restaurants, portions are served nicely and the staff if personable and helpful. While I do enjoy PF Changs, I will drive across town to go to Yao Fuzi. It's smaller, more intimate and I'm sure family owned. It's just worth it."

  • "I enjoyed the food, good quality, however i feel that it was nothing out of the ordinary, there was no "I have to come back here and get more of this" moment. Feel that for the experience the food is overpriced."

  • "This is a favorite. Whether it is a Monday night or a Saturday celebrating Chinese New Year, Yao Fuzi never disappoints. The "team" waiting meets every need and the food continues to impress. Chris Yao and his family and staff are Plano diamonds."

  • "While I have been to dinner here several times, I Invited two friends that I had not seen in a long time to join me for lunch at Yao Fuzi. Made a reservation through Open Table and they gave us a very private, separate table great for conversing and enjoying the wonderful food. I always order the pork/shrimp Shanghai soup-style dumplings when I come here which are very special. Food and service was equally good at lunch as I have always experienced at dinner."

  • "Never would have thought I'd find a great Chinese restaurant in Plano but my 10 year old son saw the restaurant and wanted to try Chinese food. Sweet and Sour soup, wontons and both main dishes we had were great. The service was good and dividers between the tables cut down on the noise that can occur from “strip mall” dining. We will definitely go back as a family or "date night" with my wife. Solid wine selection."

  • "Yao Fuzi never disappoints because it is one of the most consistent restaurants in the area. The food is always excellent and the charming proprietor Chris is always on site to make sure his customers are happy and feel welcome. The wine selection by the glass or bottle are top notch as well."

  • "We visited Yaofuzi for the third time last Thursday, and as usual, had wonderful food. We are trying to eat something different every trip. The Hot & Sour soup is the best I have ever had, as is the Won-Ton. All of the chicken dishes we have tried, and we share entre portions among us, have been special and well presented. The staff is cordial and very helpful when you need pointers for deciding what to order. The drinks are very generous. We will be back on a regular basis (at least once a month) for the near and far future!"

  • "I've finally found a really good place for Chinese food in the Dallas area. The choices were traditional and also varying so you can do just an entire or a family style dinner. Everyone in our party of four was delighted with the food. Would definitely recommend this place to others. And I will definitely return to try other items on the menu."

  • "I love this restaurant. It's addicting. We don't go to Plano too often to eat, but when we do we love going to Yao Fuzi. I hope they stay around a long time. I've never had a bad meal here."

  • "Talk about a neighborhood gem. We are so lucky to have this restaurant anywhere in the Metroplex...the food and the service are that good. Try the soup dumplings or the shrimp and pork in spicy soybean sauce. I would eat here every night of the week!"

  • "Yao Fuzi provides fairly authentic Chinese food in a stylish setting. The menu also provides more traditional American Chinese food like General Cho's (Yao's) Chicken or Orange Beef, but the variety of Chinese food styles is fairly wide and tasty."

  • "Best Chinese food in Plano (maybe Dallas) - the soup dumpling is amazing and half price wine Monday - Wednesday is a bonus!"

  • "We booked a table for 7:30. We were seated at 8:15. There was no space to wait in the foyer or at the bar. Standing by the bar puts you at risk of begging run down by the wait staff. Our waiter brought the wrong food while complaining that the restaurant was too busy. A lousy way to spend a Saturday evening! Feeling completely unappreciated or welcomed by management, I will not return to this place."

  • "We loved the ambiance and that it was not noisy. The food was excellent. We ordered and really enjoyed the pork pot stickers, General Yao's Chicken and the Orange Beef. We also ordered one of the special entrees that had five Meatballs and thought it didn't have enough flavor. Finally, we ordered two desserts - Tempura Cheese Cake and Chocolate Molten Cake which were wonderful."

  • "We went for New Year's Eve with our family and a friend of my daughter. Lots of good choices for picky teenagers. The waiter was very helpful in making suggestions. Two of us got pork dishes, we were surprised at how fatty they were. That said, all the food was very flavorful and filling with no left overs. No desert menu was offered. We did not have any alcohol so can't comment on that but did notice people ordering martinis. There were several different tea selections available and we ordered chrysanthemum. Total bill was just under $100. A very nice venue but not sure it is worth $25 a plate. I would definately go back for lunch as the prices were nearly half that of dinner."

  • "We moved from Dallas a year ago and when we came back to visit we picked our top three places we wanted to eat - Yao Fuzi was at the top of the list and didn't disappoint. We have dined there since Chris opened the place and the food is still the best and the service and ambience have only improved. They have expanded and now have a first class wine list as well. This isn't your typical Chinese restaurant. This is a fine dining experience where each dish is unique and have yet to have a bad one."

  • "We've been here dozens of times and the food is always delicious! Chris Yao runs the front of the restaurant and his Mom and Dad run the kitchen. Highly recommend the Tempura Halibut appetizer and the Fuzi Prawn and Crispy Beef entries, although everything on the menu is excellent. Not a real fancy place, but it's definitely the best Chinese food in the Metroplex."
