  • "Excellent fresh fish dishes and good choice of sides"

  • "met some long time friends for lunch. it was a chilly day but inside was ver crowded so we sat outside. had to ask someone to turn them on, but Patio heaters worked well. Food was average. I had chowder-very thin and not many clams. Several of us had lamb burger specials-again average, no seasoning. Prices were typical for Marin, but a liitle high for quality. Would try it again out of fairness-like to always try somewhere twice to see if I misjudged."

  • "This is one of my sister's favorite places in the Bay Area, so we often land here when she comes to town. It is a nice place, with an upbeat vibe, and the everything is well-prepared and tasty. We tried some garlic butter oysters for the first time tonight, and they were delicious."

  • "I love coming to Yankee Pier because I feel like I've stepped into the east coast. Very Martha's Vineyard! The food is great, service is always good and the lemon pie is to die for!!!!"

  • "We started with oysters, which were super fresh and tasty. My husband had the iceberg wedge with blue cheese and bay shrimp salad. He had fried clams as his main - he always does and says that it is better each time! I had the rockfish with the kale salad and rainbow carrots. The fish was grilled to perfection and reminded me that too many places over cook fish. This was some of the best ever. We will be back. We were there at 7:00 - peak noise time. But the service was friendly, efficient, and skilled. Top evening."

  • "My boyfriend and I live in San Mateo and make the trek to Larkspur about every other month to dine at Yankee Pier. The staff is fabulous, the food is delightful and the service is right on point. We love coming here and you will too."

  • "Great place for families... they have a sandbox outside for the kids. Food is usually pretty good. Too many fried options on the menu though. I would love some more fresh, healthy fish options"

  • "Valentine's day usually means rushed or poor service. But not at Yankee Pier. The wait staff was attentive but not assertive. We had a wonderful meal. We chose the prix fixe menu which featured dungeness crab courses followed by a whole petrale sole. It was done to perfection."

  • "dropped in for some fresh oysters and was wowed by the fresh made clam chowder. I'll be back for that and the $1 oysters on weekends from 3-5"

  • "Yankee Pier has great seafood! I was not disappointed! The sides and dessert were delicious also!"

  • "This was our second visit to Yankee Pier. We love the variety of fresh fish prepared in many lovely ways, and the prices are more moderate than many of the other restaurants in the area. It is a tiny place and we were there on a fairly chilly night. Our table was right near the front door, and unfortunately every time someone came in and out of the door everyone at our table got a blast of cold air. Other than that the experience was wonderful."

  • "Yankee Pier serves up terrific food with a commitment to great taste and to protecting the environment. Chefs at Yankee Pier source seafood according to Seafood Watch, so you know you're getting good fish and can feel good about it. If fish isn't your thing, try the burger or one of the terrific salads."

  • "We go here every New Year's Eve, and the food and service always meet or exceed our expectations. A real gem all around."

  • "We are regulars on weekends but this was our first Thursday night visit. Food and service were well below expectations. Service was slow and inattentive. Drinks arrived after the appetizer was served; we asked for bread twice before it was delivered. The calamari appetizer, which has become much smaller in the past year, was made up mostly of beards and very little meat. I ordered the catfish special, and was shocked to receive an undersized fillet. One of the sides ordered with my entree, kale salad, took up most of the dinner plate. It was used as a filler to mask the small fish serving and was more fit for a goat; the leaves were tough and the stems were not trimmed. My wife was happy with her usual, the salmon burger."

  • "The three of us loved the service and ambiance at the Yankee Pier. The food met our expectations, especially the chowder, crab and veggies. The back patio would be a great place to dine on a warmer evening. Also, complimentary valet parking, shared with the next door Lark Creek Tavern is a great conveniece."

  • "I enjoyed my entree but my other half did not so much. The special events at this restaurant are best to find and use like 1/2 wine month. We are frequent diners and ordering a entree close to $20.00 like fish and chips that tasted regular is something she thought was disappointing for a few pieces of regular fish. The menu she thought needed bit more spicing up for the price."

  • "With the various eclectic options in the area this is one of my top ten restaurants when visiting friends in the area. Ordered a hangar steak that was prepared as ordered and of course someone in the party had clams. If you're looking for an East coast style fish joint you should keep Yankee Pier in your repertoire."

  • "Great Caesar salad! Wonderful bread with a great crust! Excellent food. The only minus is they don't have an espresso machine! Boo Hoo."
    Dined on 12/7/2013
  • "Even though the restaurant had very few patrons, my party of 5 had to wait over 40 minutes for our meals which included clam chowder and fish & chips. I have been here many times, but never had to wait this long. I will still be back at Yankee Pier though."

  • "Had a wonderful meal of fresh seafood, perfectly prepared, with attentive and friendly service."
    Dined on 11/18/2013
  • "You don't really need an occasion to visit Yankee Pier. It's a great place to just stop in and have the best fish tacos around. An incredible seafood menu also has a super burger and a great flatiron steak. One great thing is Yankee Pier's association with Seafood Watch, which adds a certain level of confidence that the fish on your plate is high quality and was caught using the best methods."

  • "One of the best things about this restaurant is the choices. You can pick from fresh fish and have it cooked any way you want. Then you get your choice of sides. Waiter was very knowledgeable about best way to cook the fish I selected. I think it is a bit pricey for what you get but food was delicious and service almost perfection. Towards end of meal the restaurant got busy and our waiter tied up but other staff was alert to this and refilled our coffee cups."

  • "This Yankee Pier was disappointing especially because in no way does it compare to its sister restaurant in Lafayette. The clam chowder was not hot enough, the batter on the fish and chips was "mushy", and the shrimp louis was mostly lettuce. We would not go back."
    Dined on 11/5/2013
  • "The food was good, but not great. Seafood is expensive, but it seemed overpriced. The staff was very friendly and we received excellent service. We went because we had always wondered about this place and also it was described as kid friendly-that's for sure!"

  • "Very friendly, attentive service. I would suggest using considerably less butter in the Sole entree. It was just too much. Kids mac and cheese needs re-work."
