Yankee Pier LafayetteReliable for Fresh,Sustainable FishYankee Pier is solidly in line with the sustainable fish recommendations from the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and you can count on them to always have very fresh, high quality, well prepared fish. We like to go early (5 or 5:30) when it's on the quieter side. The managers, chefs, and servers all work very hard to ensure a good experience. One of the best dining choices in Lafayette, including for families.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic Meal, Excellent ServiceOur server was wonderful. The perfect amount of attentiveness. Get the salmon blackened and the fish tacos with rock cod are divine. We will definitely be back.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWe requested very,v very crispWe requested very,v very crisp FF and they were done to perfection. The fried calimary was some of the best we have ever eaten.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Fish & ChipsYankee Pier is one of our go-to restaurants because you can always count on a good meal. The fish is sustainably caught, so when you eat here, you don't have to worry about contributing to the problems of over-fishing and depleting ocean food supplies (or high mercury levels in your food).
We had the fish & chips in our most recent visit and they were excellent. Okay, so everyone knows fish & chips are deep fried (and what doesn't taste good fried!), but Yankee Pier manages to prepare the dish in a way that isn't greasy and the fish is tasty. And if you like cole slaw, theirs is great. And if you don't like it, you should give this a try.
Reservations are always a good idea, especially on weekends.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMAs Always Very GoodThis eatery never lets usown. Great consistent seafood. love the polenta!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMReliably very goodIf you like fish prepared correctly, Yankee Pier is a great choice. My "go to" dish is usually the fish tacos, and on this visit they did not disappoint. But the stand out dish was the flourless chocolate cake that we shared for dessert. YUM!!5/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is one of our favoriteThis is one of our favorite restaurants for food and service. My husband said the scallops were outstanding and the big fat biscuit is a must-have!5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful Sea food RestaurantGood choices, lots of variety, acceptable portions, decent service in a clean environment.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWineExcellent food & service. As usual,it bugs me to pay 8.50 for a 1/4 glass of wine.I do not want to buy a bottle as I am the driver & my wife will only drink one glass.Other than that is was a very good evening.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMYUMMY!!Recommended by friends, I went to the web site and was pleased to see that the ownership is a true 5 star operation. Arrived early, table was waiting. Place was packed. As a true foodie I always test the server. Asked Annie about a few dishes and she surprised us with her knowledge, even down to where the scallops were harvested. Knew every ingredient in the Shrimp Scampi Linguini. Had the Calamari: perfect. Mrs had the crab sandwich. loved it. I had the Scampi and it was amazing. Annie knew all the wines as well. So we are pleased that we have found a great seafood spot in the East Bay: impeccable service; great food; solid wine selection. The tab was a Ben Franklin with well deserved tip. We will be back. Lots to explore on this menu.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good fishVery consistent and very good quality fish dishes. Best potato chips ever!5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding seafood.Yankee Pier is our favorite Saturday lunch spot. Eat a little, eat a lot, it's all wonderful, comfort food. There are hints of Bradley Ogden, but there are innovations on the menu as well. The staff is friendly and helpful with suggestions; they know their food.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMYankee Pier LafayetteGreat seafood restaurant - excellent staff and service. Fresh local fish and shellfish, as well as local produce. Very pleasant place to dine and have a cocktail. Bar is smallish, but drinks and bartenders are both top notch.
I often recommend to friends and acquaintances as a a close option instead of going to the city for good seafood.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day BrunchI went there for Mother's Day Brunch/Lunch and had a nice experience. Our waiter was very nice and had that "southern hospitality" and graciousness about him. We didn't feel rushed and when our dessert took longer than he thought it should, he told us it was complementary and apologized for the delay. We shared an order of fresh clams on the half shell which were delicious and my daugher had the steelhead salmon sandwich and I had fish and chips. Both were excellent and the dessert was great - I love bread pudding and it was very good. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a good meal, nice atmosphere and good service.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways DeliciousHave eaten at Yankee Pier at least once a year since 2010. It turned out to be a wonderful time and everyone loved their dinner.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMMade reservations. Didn'tMade reservations. Didn't think to request booth at 5:45pm. When we arrived & requested one, were told they were being held for other reservations. Fish and chips: Fish was superb, some of the best ever. Chips (fries) were ordinary; McDonalds are better. Coleslaw coarse-cut and somewhat flavorless. Potato chips with lobster roll were great. Server promised to bring bread, then forgot until we asked. Food was brought just as we were finishing soup, so we had to lift our soup out of the way so he could serve the food. I was full and & asked to take my dessert home; he agreed. Minutes later he brought fork and spoon, I asked why, he said for my dessert. I reminded him I was taking it home; he removed fork and spoon. But great fish!4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMI have been there for lunchI have been there for lunch about five times and always have had good service, good food and a good time. The minted English pea soup was great also.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMFood is always delicious,Food is always delicious, and the service is excellent.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and great service.Great food and great service. I love that they have an atmosphere lovely enough for a date with my husband but it's casual for family dining at the same time and we can go with our child as well. The prices are rather high, although, I'd say it's worth for the fresh seafood which they cook perfectly. I personally love the pan-seared scallops with lime cilantro rice!4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMWe come here frequently becauseWe come here frequently because the food and the service are always good.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our first time thereThis was our first time there and it wont be the last, the food and service was awesome!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing service, great locallyAmazing service, great locally sourced seafood, homemade chips, and the best made-to-order fries this side of In-N-Out. Terrific!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a nice find!!!What a nice find!!! This was our first time visiting Yankee Pier, and definitely won't be the last. We (four of us) arrived at 4:00 and caught the tail end of Happy Hour which ends at 5:00 (a little earlier than most, especially for patrons who have to work until 5:00). We each had a wine (a Pinot Noir Rose), off the happy hour menu, we probably wouldn’t have tried at regular prices and were pleasantly surprised. Each of us ordered an appetizer, more wine, clam chowder, more wine, a meal and then dessert. Everything was excellent! I can’t wait to go back and try a couple of other meals that looked great!3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMWe always enjoy our dinnersWe always enjoy our dinners here. The waitress recommended the black cod special and it was very good, although a bit pricey for the sliver of fish that you got. We'll be back, but will probably stick with the grilled fish and 2 sides.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWe always have a good dinnerWe always have a good dinner here. This time we took friends and they were very pleased.12/7/2012 12:00:00 AM
