A word from Xiomara on Melrose
California Cuban Cuisine in a comfortable setting. Our cuisine is fresh, innovative, flavorful and carefully prepared. Xiomara personally visits the local farmer's markets to obtain the freshest ingredients.

Due to popular demand we have added several of the favorite dishes from our old Nuevo Latino Menu to our incredible California Cuisine Menu. The current menu offers the best of California Cuisine with a Cuban twist. Seating is appropriate for intimate dinners or large parties.

Not to be missed is our famous Mojito some refer to as the best mojito in Los Angeles. This signature drink features cane juice squeezed fresh at the bar!

  • "Went for V-day. Food was excellent I had the swordfish my girl had the Paeya (sp). Worst thing about the place was the seating as it just felt too cramped we sat by the window and in the attempt to pull the chair out we realized it touched the window before the arms of the chair left from under the table. The waiter was somewhat cool in the beginning he seemed highly attentive but as the night closed didnt see him as much. The bartender know his stuff forgot what as ordered but my girl said it was great. Pricing is pretty fair. Highly recommended for those that want a little romantic setting. Most definitely a $100+ outing"

  • "We arrived to a restaurant with only a few guests dining. The waitstaff was very polite, but service extremely slow. I don't know if the kitchen was still in prep mode, or what. We had a show to get to, so I'm glad we had an early reservation giving us plenty of time. My wild mushroom risotto w/ shrimp was OUTSTANDING...it's one of those dishes I know I'll be craving in the future. My husband had pasta w/ meat sauce which he felt was outstanding as well. Our salad w/ a lemon vinaigrette, a bit too sour for my taste. Homemade ice cream tasted more like ice milk, again, not something I'd recommend. Although the salad & dessert were not to my liking, the main course was so unforgettable, so I can't knock off a star in the rating."

  • "Went on a Friday night. It's a pleasant place although we sat upstairs where the celings are low so the noise level was a little higher than I like. Overall food was good - well prepared. Service, however, was not so good. Its not that the service staff was bad (there were not) it just seemed like there were not enough servers for the number of diners. We were in a bit of a time clock but still didn't get out of there under two hours. It took almost an hour before out apetizers got to the table. I might try them again to see if I have a different experience but overall just a moderate rating."

  • "Went there on a Friday night on a whim during restaurant week. Food was excellent, although the appetizers could be a little bigger proportioned. The specialty cocktails were good as well. Definitely try the Mango Mojito, my girl loved it. Great service would definitely eat there again."

  • "Reserved a table not really knowing what to expect and left very satisfied with our last minute choice. Pork belly was crispy on the outside, soft and moist, full of flavor within. Highlight dish was the paella, plentiful adornment of tasty seafood. The salmon and steak were well received as both plates were left spotless. Everyone enjoyed the tres leches cake served with coffee ice cream. Looking forward to our next visit."

  • "Xiomara is the most under appreciated restaurant in LA. I don't' get why it's not packed! The food is always outstanding, it's got the best mojito in town, made from fresh pressed sugar cane! The cubano nuevo salad is my favorite salad, anywhere, Avocado mixed with cilantro and lemon toped with marinated chunks of tomato, a deconstructed guacamole. Served with heirloom tomato slices drizzled with an amazing herb dressing. The veggies taste fresh picked from the garden in January. I tried the chicken the other night. Simply roasted served atop a saffron risotto. My new favorite chicken in town! I've had the mussels, the hanger steak, the burger, the ceviche. It is all amazing. Top quality ingredients cooked with finesse and love!"

  • "Upscale Cuban influenced menu. Started with the ceviche which was fresh and served with long spoons in a martini glass. The soup du jour was a light and tasty sweet potato puree. Very pleasing. The hot and fresh from the terrine lamb shank was so succulant the meat jumped off the bone and melted in my mouth. The Ceasar salad was fresh and crisp and served with "Boquerones" also called "White Anchovies" which are far less salty, fishy or overpowering as the oily standard ones most places use. Love their mojitos made from fresh ground sugar cane stalks served in uniquely tilted tall boy glasses. Nice jazz standards playing and flattering lighting/ambience. Not crowded week nights. Looking fwd. to returning. Recommend highly!"

  • "The food was amazing! I am not a dessert person but with the DIneLA menu it comes with a dessert so I got the cheesecake, OMG it was the best darn cheesecake I've had in a long time!!! They have cantaloupe mojito that my friend loved & it came in a leaning glass lol We will defintely come back"
