Xiomara on MelroseBeautiful restaurant, killer mojitoThis restaurant is just beautiful, and it is sad that it isn't busier. The mojitos are still the best, served in fun, slanted glasses. The black bean soup is wonderful, the bread and dips to start are delicious. We got the risotto and it was just okay. I think sticking with the cuban-inspired dishes is probably a good call. And get a mojito.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMthe service could not havethe service could not have been better; very friendly. we were there early so it was quiet. everything ordered was delicious, incluindg lamb chops, short ribs, ceviche, sea bass.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMTruly best mojito ive everTruly best mojito ive ever had. Ever. Appetizers were mediocre. Entrees were outstanding. The side dishes are to die for. Service is absolutely top notch.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMXiomara is a real gem. FarXiomara is a real gem. Far enough away from the traffic hassles further west on Melrose, it offers a wonderful ambiance and a creative menu in pretention-free environment. The food is a creative variation on Latin cuisine. Be sure to try the sweet potato croquets and surrender to the temptation of a soufflé for dessert.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMI've eaten at Xiomara so manyI've eaten at Xiomara so many times and have discovered so many "must have" dishes that choosing becomes more difficult with each visit. This time, though, I did stray from my usual set of choices for lunch, and was happy to discover the yumminess of their Fish Tacos. My dining partner had the Rock Shrimp & Truffle Oil Risotto (one of my usuals) -- that dish is pure genius!4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for a quick, light meal;Great for a quick, light meal; or a decadent multi-course indulgence. I've gone here for both. Perfection either way!2/6/2013 12:00:00 AMI've been enjoying Xiomara'sI've been enjoying Xiomara's great food, service, and ambience seemingly forever -- and still haven't tired of it. Going there is a total tonic!1/16/2013 12:00:00 AMThis time I branched out fromThis time I branched out from my usual menu faves and made a great new discovery -- their Pablano Risotto. I found it spicy, delectable, and, its veggie status notwithstanding, rich enough to induce considerable guilt... but you'll get over it. So good!12/18/2012 12:00:00 AMJust when I thought it couldn'tJust when I thought it couldn't possibly get any better, the chef outdid himself this time especially with the Shrimp & Truffle Risotto, and the Apple Tart. Once again I dined with a first timer. This one started raving before she even sat at the table, and loved everything about the experience -- which included a friendly chat with the owner, Xiomara herself. Here's to spreading the joy!12/14/2012 12:00:00 AMI treated a friend to supperI treated a friend to supper at Xiomara for his birthday. It was his first time there (and my millionth). I was as impressed as ever, and also delighted to witness yet another Xiomara fan in the making. He was definitely blown away -- especially by the Sweet Potato Croquettes and the Seafood Paella.12/10/2012 12:00:00 AM
