The service at this restaurant was
just horrible. The server was so slow. He finally would bring out a couple of orders where others had to wait for theirs, for a long, long time. He forgot to bring out certain sauces that we asked for. I asked again for extra lemon so he proceeded to go over to the bar area, grabbed one lemon wedge, and then handed it to me, with his bare hand. No thanks. It took forever to have the dishes cleared as well. The restaurant was very loud, acoustics were terrible, and we could barely hear ourselves talk. I wrote to the owner, via email, have yet to hear back. All the people in our party of 5 agree that we would never go there again."

It is very difficult to find
really good Chinese food. I've sampled in many cities; the best so far was Epcot. X'ian came very close, if not nearly equal, to the only other place that I ever enjoyed Chinese food, plus atmospher too!! My husband and I enjoyed the evening with our son. It was a bummer that our daughter missed joining us but she did enjoy the leftovers. We did order extra, knowing we'd bring back to hotel for her! A really yummy meal!"

We have been to Xi'an several
times. Overall, the food is qood. Some dishes are better than others. We tried the crispy beef, and boy, was it crispy. Wouldn't do that again. However, I did like the Mongolian Beef dish. Pot stickers were yummy too."
Dined on 4/3/2014
I was only there for a quick
dinner -- I sort of wish I had more time to linger and try everything on the menu. The food was excellent, and service was very fast, although we were there pretty early."
Dined on 3/17/2014
always good....tried a few dishes
that i was unfamiliar with....always good to try new items. the peking duck pancakes were divine. looking forward to next time."

I dine here often with my friends.
The food is always fresh and delicious"
Dined on 2/24/2014
The food is truly outstanding. We
had the Miso Black Cod, the Tuna Tartare on Rice cakes, the Kung Pao Chicken and the Spa Rice. Everything was very flavorful and tasty. We sent the Kung Pao back because it wasn't spicy enough and they happily whipped up another batch. The cocktails are very tasty and worth the price, however it took ours 30 minutes to arrive, so dont go there thirsty! In general a wonderful meal."
Dined on 2/23/2014
Food is the same - okay - portions
seem smaller and the prices are higher. All in all, disappointing."
Dined on 2/21/2014
We had the chicken & the fish-
both so overly salty it was difficult to eat. Both dishes were listed on the menu as being heart healthy so we were definitely not expecting an abundance of sodium."
Dined on 2/18/2014
Great Food, Well Priced,
professional polite staff! A very nice dining experience"
Dined on 2/3/2014
Better to go when there's no lunch
rush. The biggest problem is the hostess: rude and unfriendly."
Dined on 1/31/2014
Always love going to Xian but it
was extra fun this Chinese New Years! Live performance 'Dragon Dance' with music...so fun! Also special "new years' dishes prepared for good luck and prosperity that were delicious! Always a great time with good food and ambiance at Xian."
Dined on 1/31/2014
One of the worst services I have
had at any restaurant! Not only forgot our order but rude when we asked about it! As I was leaving disappointed about the food and the service I noticed it has a "B" rating! Never again!"
Dined on 1/29/2014
love the food here, but as it has
lots of families, it is quite noisy and lots of kids running around. other than that - the dishes are great, as is the service."

Xi'An has authentic Chinese food
as well as incredible service. My glass of water was never empty there. As a Chinese, I highly recommend this place if you want Chinese food in a good atmosphere."
Dined on 1/8/2014
Food is always well prepared and
excellent quality. Sometimes service can be inconsistent, but Mr. Tao is the very best if you can get him. He has great suggestions and makes sure you will be happy with your meal."
Dined on 1/9/2014
Dinner at Xi'an, was wonderful as
always. The food is fresh and prepared perfectly. The hostess and the servers were friendly and attentive. It seems to be the perfect neighborhood place as we saw several friends that evening."
Dined on 1/7/2014
The restaurant was not as good as
I remembered - maybe we ordered the wrong things. I was hoping for a good Sunday night local Chinese restaurant for an early dinner with the kids but am not sure I would go back. Service was good, and it is reasonable."

I been going to this restaurant
for 3 years and never had a bad meal, always delicious and the price is great ."
Dined on 1/5/2014
restaurant was decorated and
festive on New year's eve...food was delicious and staff was warm and friendly; there was no set menu and no hiked up prices! they passed out champagne at 9PM and we watched the New Year ball drop in Times Square..fun!"

I have discovered that at Xian you
cannot venture much outside of what you know or you can be disappointed. The walnut shrimp tasted like frozen boiled plastic and was a huge disappointment. The amount of wonton soup you get for $6.95 is the smallest bowl i have ever seen at a restaurant and definitely not for sharing. The lettuce cup w chicken should have some veggies. Potstickers great. Mongolion beef great. Made the mistake of the everything fried rice and it was ruined by the frozen plastic shrimp"

This was the second time in the
past 3 months that we have gone to X'ian. The food was not good for the second time..tastless and overpriced for the portions. Nothing tasted very fresh and all was either over cooked or under cooked. The service was very good however. We have been there several times in 2013 and don't plan on going back again in the future. We have taken our adult children and they did not like it either maybe you have to be a "regular" to have decent food."

Right in the heart of Beverly
Hills is this marvelous Chinese restaurant with an outdoor patio and excellent food"

The food was noit just very good
it was excellent.. The menu changed adding new items which make a fonderful to choose items that taste and looks great."

with attentive service."

I have had the pleasure of dining
at Xi'an on many occasions and having reviewed restaurants for a living for many years I would say that Xi'an is one of the best. The food is always good and that is why I return time and again."

I love eating outdoors. So my
friend and I chose an outdoor table, but every time the waiter stepped inside the restaurant, there was a beggar who would come and sing loudly (music that clashed with the ambient music the restaurant was playing). Then we heard him hassle another table to see if they were going to eat the food they were taking home. Later he came back and begged from my friend and I - asking for $$ because he was a starving artist. So obnoxious. I expect, when I go out to eat in Beverly Hills, to be able to enjoy an indoor or outdoor dining experience without being hassled by riffraff. While the restaurant does not own the sidewalk - it is their job to ensure that the people dining there have a good experience."

Food here was mediocre, at
best:chicken was undercooked, vegetables overcooked & soggy. Xian was never considered a "great" Chinese restaurant, but now it's coasting on whatever laurels it did have. Shrimp dish was particularly pathetic: tiny (almost bay) shrimp with a lack of seasoning."
Dined on 11/3/2013
Xian used to be our 'go to"
Chinese restaurant, but we hadn't been there in some months. It was notably empty when we arrived and we wondered why...until we received the meal. The Tan Tan noodles were virtually tasteless. The Singapore noodles were all mushed together and were lifted in one big clump to hang off the chopstick. Not a good sight. The good news is that the service was very professional and thoughtful. I'm not sure if we'll go again when there are so many restaurants in Beverly Hills vying for customers."

It doesn't make any sense to eat
here expecting something special in the food. It's a sit-down Panda Express paying too much for overhead and rent due to the location. The staff also prefers the glitzier clientele versus the average patron. You could clearly see in their facial expression the difference when serving those who appear to have more money. Here's some advice to their staff. There are a lot of white collar folks who work around your area and we always don't get decked out with bling. But we can guarantee you that we give higher tips than those flashy folks almost all the time."

Best Chinese food in town and Mike
is as good a waiter as there is."

I'm always in the mood for good
Chinese food, however, my experience is that it's a difficult find in LA. I was looking for a less glitzy LA restaurant after several days of good but high profile places and our concierge at SLS told us that she personally enjoyed this place. The food was great! The atmosphere was indeed energetic but not imposing. Next time we visit my son who lives in LA this place will be high on my list of "must return tos.""

Everything very good if
unsurprising. Service good if not most warm and fuzzy."
