Peter Kelley actually came in and said hello to every table in the place; I can't say that I've ever had an owner/chef actually come into any other restaurant and ask how things were. Reservation was for around 7 pm so we were able to watch the sunset over the Hudson which was spectacular!
Service was very good, not the annoying always coming over asking questions, even the chef came by to say hi!

The ambience, scenery, service and food were excellent. The staff came over several times to check on us, even when the sun was setting to see if we wanted the shades to be lowered. Our waiter didn't seem to mind taking our picture on the deck outside either. To add, I had a special request that I noted when I made reservations online and it was followed through without me reminding anyone. That is what impressed me the most! I would like to thank the staff including the hosts for being welcoming. I'm thankful for a great experience! The only thing I would mention is that I thought I would try Peter Kelly's Slovenia vodka. So I ordered a Slovenia vodka and tonic and they served it in a dramatically tall narrow glass. There was so much tonic in the glass that you couldn't taste the vodka. You can't beat the value! A three-course prixe fix brunch for $38 including unlimited prosecco cocktails. The food is always wonderful and the specials that we enjoyed this time around were absolutely amazing. If you have children, steer clear of the regular children's options which are either chicken fingers or pasta for $10 and ask instead to have children's sized portions of the dishes on the main menu, which they will do for you for half price. The desserts were lovely (cheesecake interesting, carrot cake icing excellent) and the special attention to our guest of honor (Fordham graduate) was great. The restaurant is worth the train ride from NYC for its ambience and the view. I had eaten at X2O before and had loved the experience. My friends were new to and loved the restaurant.
My steak was 'well' done not 'medium rare' as ordered. I pointed this out to waiter, but there was no offer to change.
