Diner Reviews
  • "Claire, tour guide and concierge was fantastic! Very knowledgeable of the two families' history (Wrigley and Hormel). Geordie's staff was great....and the food - outstanding."

  • "My wife and I celebrated our 40th anniversary (in part) at this elegant restaurant. We availed ourselves of a Deal Chicken voucher. Dinner and one cocktail each still came to more than $120.00 - voucher and additional cost combined. The voucher said that we were getting a $120 three course dinner for two (for $59). We were offered a limited menu consisting of a choice of three appetizers, two salads or soup and five entrees. All servings, pre-entree and entree, were sumptuous, delicious and nicely presented, as were our cocktails. . Service was competent, attentive and very professional. The dining room was immaculate and very attractive. And the view from the mansion was superb."

  • "If you want a scenic view, this is the place to go! The ambiance of the restaurant and wonderful service is what stood out most to me. The food was good, but it wasn't necessarily something to write home about. I live in Phoenix now, but am originally from the Midwest, as is the rest of my family who was out visiting. I heard about the view at this place and decided to make reservations for lunch. It was a great choice as the view was breath-taking. We sat in Georgie's lounge rather than the dining room in order to take in the view a little more. The food was good, but we did have to send back the pasta because it came out quite luke-warm. Overall a great experience! I would like to go back for the jazz nights, as well as for brunch!"

  • "Had an absolutely wonderful Sunday brunch. Food was fabulous and we can't wait to go back. Walking the grounds and all through the house was fabulous!!!"

  • "Took my In-laws and they just loved the entire experience...we also took the tour...Service staff was Outstanding"

  • "I went to brunch at Geordie's with a friend to celebrate her recent wedding, so we were looking for a special, festive place to enjoy, and boy did this place deliver! The views of the entire city are breath-taking, the house is so well-maintained and the grounds are absolutely beautiful, the service was wonderful, and the food was top-notch! Excellent variety of both breakfast and lunch items, and everything was fresh, well-stocked, and spectacularly delicious. My one and only complaint was we did have to wait a few times for our mimosas and coffee to be refilled, but overall this is truly a dining experience I will recommend to all of my friends!"

  • "Everything there was very good just one small suggestion they need to buy better coffee, it was weak and tasteless."

  • "Our group was in recovery mode, after having attended a wedding and reception at the nearby Biltmore Hotel the evening before. In the days leading up to our reservation, the numbers of people wanting to join us for brunch kept growing. The reservation staff was gracious and flexible, accommodating our every request, including "just one more" that arrived unexpectedly. A moment to reset the table with that extra place and all appeared seamless. Table staff, as always, delivered at high levels and the food and music never disappoint. All the out-of-towners raved as we left, so grateful to have had such a special and unique Phoenix dining experience."

  • "Friends from Midwest were visiting and we wanted to dine somewhere unique to area. Menu seemed very limited. Two of us ordered the risotto (listed as a side dish) for our entrees, and it came as a bowl of clumped dry rice - neither of us ate it. To the server's credit, he asked if there was a problem and took the risotto of our tab."

  • "The charm of this old place and the stunning view make a visit to the Wrigley Mansion worthwhile, but we were delighted to discover that the food is also very good. The prices of salads and sandwiches are competitive, but the entrees carry hefty prices - more like upscale dinner prices. We had sandwiches, which were delicious. Tours of the Mansion are offered for $15, which might be a nice add-on to your lunch visit, if you haven't been there before."

  • "We have several friends visit us this winter. We always go to the Wrigley Mansion because it is a great tour and fantastic food. Love Geordie's. Can't wait until we eat there again."

  • "When planning my special weekend lunch with my friends, I wanted to find a place that offered not only great food and wonderful service, but also a location that show cased the beauty and ambiance of the Valley of the Sun. Gordons at the Wrigley Mansion did not disappoint. My friends and I enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere. We loved the warmth of the staff who immediately made us feel at home. Exploring the mansion and the lovely grounds ended a most pleasant afternoon."

  • "This is a very nice place, and very different from your usual "lunch away from work" atmosphere. Great food, service and martinis!"

  • "The WM is an amazing place and love the atmosphere. The history and charm of the place is like no where else in town. The dining experience has good and bad. The menu looks great on paper then the adventure started. We ordered the "special" rack of lamb to be told they were sold out...we ordered at 7pm on a Friday.... They brought out popovers as the bread. Great idea but they were not flaky and were way too dense. The kale salad was soggy and drenched w dressing. The filet was 2oz vs 6 as advertised dry and tasteless but the Mahi was excellent very small portion. The acorn squash was good. The house wine for the price was good. Service was poor. There are many better choices in Scottdale for the money"

  • "The Wrigley Mansion is a well maintained HISTORIC HOUSE in the Biltmore Estate.; - tours are available-. The house sits atop a hill with a 360 degree view of Phoenix. The lunch menu is limited but nothing on it is "normal". The pasta dish is well endowed with large scallops and shrimp. Each menu item was flavorful and enjoyable. The wine list is long and very interesting. Service is excellent."

  • "We dined out on the terrace with the panorama of Phoenix spread out below. The food and service were excellent. We would definitely go back."

  • "Mansion is in poor condition and dining there was creepy. Food was medicare and not served hot, Had the salmon which was just ok and companion had the lamb shank which was good but the cannolini beans were undercooked. also ordered the squash risotto. Not a got choice either - mushy and unidentifiable as risotto. Restaurant is difficult to find. Needs a good cleaning."

  • "The ambiance and food were good but the service was hit and miss. Prime rib had to be cut, shrimp and crab legs were hidden behind the chef who was cutting the prime rib and had to be requested. I have never been to a Sunday buffet with this price line, where I had to request something as rudimentary as shrimp. With regards to the service, we probably waited a good 15 minutes after seating for a waiter to show at our table. Somewhere in the meal, I requested coffee and was presented with a cup in about 10 minutes. To get a second cup of coffee, it took probably 3 requests and 30 minutes. I am sure there's restaurants in Phoenix whose ambiance and food are much better as a lesser cost."

  • "Enjoy a true brunch while taking in the beautiful view. Special treat was to walk around the Wrigley Mansion after eating."

  • "At $50 per person not a good value per dollar spent. Our reservation was for 12:30 (brunch serves until 2:00) and there was not any seafood left. Bagels, lox, cream cheese, chopped onion, and capers, but no sliced tomato and no TOASTER FOR THE BAGEL!!! Caesar salad was just plain bad. Prime rib was ok but leg of lamb was not edible. Not on my return list."

  • "First time visit. Special occasion. Found the food and wait staff terrific. Will try again for dinner. The location of our table had view of cobwebs , however the scenery made up for that. Thanks"

  • "This was the first time we had dined at Wrigley Mansion for dinner, & it did not disappoint. We were entertaining a fried from Japan & celebrating my birthday. The food was wonderful. I had the most & tender braised lamb shank, as did my friend, and my husband had the filet mignon. The staff was attentive, and our server made mention to the chef it was my birthday, & my dessert had a "Happy Bithday greeting penned in chocolate around the rim of the plate. Very thoughtful. Looking forward to the next time we come."

  • "This was our first time there for dinner and we both ordered Steaks, they were both cooked to perfection. Our server was Michael and he was excellent, I will ask for him next time I go. The wine list is extensive if you like wine and good food this a good place to go. I have nothing bad to say about the place."

  • "We dined at Geordie's at the end of February, having arrived from the cold and snowy northeast. We first explored the mansion - which is a treat in itself - and then dined on the porch during a glorious sunset. The food was delicious and the service excellent."

  • "The mushroom soup and the filet mignonette were exceptional. View plus food made for a very nice dining experience."

  • "Fruit was very fresh and flavorful. We also enjoyed the smoked salmon and pate. Some of the things were just ok such as the crab legs. Not everything was made from scratch at the restaurant. Coffee was very weak and not received hot. Table was attractive with crisp white linens and silver and glassware that shone. Carpeting needed vacuuming badly. Beautiful setting and view."

  • "We tried the Happy Hour menu and found it lacking. Very boring food and presentations. But generally a nice place."

  • "With the clouds overcasting, and the sun peaking its head out ever so occasionally, the ambiance at the Mansion that day was perfect. Mamosas and valet was expected, as the three African American women met for the first time in about a year. They had gone to high school together, so they were very well acquainted. One of them even brought their son of 6 months to be met for the first time. Conversation over braised lamb, Cesar salad, and macaroni and cheese pleased them all. This mid day gathering of young successful black women was a much needed refresher to their every day lives and the Wrigley Mansion was the perfect place to make that happen."

  • "It is always a very pleasant experience to dine at Gordie's. Sunday brunch is our favorite! The breakfast bar, omelet and pancake stations were very complete. Great prime rib, shrimp and crab station! The view is spectacular and I recommend Gordie's for birthdays and special occasions."

  • "We had a group of 5 and had a wonderful experience. Be sure to arrive a bit before your reservation as we had time to explore the beautiful home. There are lots of rooms to rent for larger groups or business groups. Would be marvelous for a wedding or a family reunion. We stopped in the bar for a drink and had Bruschetta and Margarita Pizza. Both were very good. The bartender regaled us with stories and history of the home and its occupants. Our dining experience was top notch. Our Dining Host was Damian Trejo and he was wonderful with great tips on specials, wine, and menu items. It is obvious that he is well versed. I had the Mahi Mahi special and my wife had lamb. Our whole group went away awed. Worth every penny!"

  • "The atmosphere was great and the food was fabulous where we had issues was in the service. Our waiter was scattered and we would ask for something like coffee and he would forget to bring it. At one point we had to get up and find someone else to get is coffee. He would make excuses and apology for the mix up like it was someone else's fault. When you are paying $49.00 a person I would have expected great service. This was our first time and very disappointing."

  • "My husband brought 2 granddaughters here for a special occasion. The food was outstanding, we had a lovely view of the city. However, we were surprised and disappointed by the waiter who was less than interested in our table. We were the first seated in that room and were forgotten until a table of "familiar" clients arrived at which time he concentrated on their needs. We asked twice for our side dish, remind them we had ordered more cocktails, and as we were finishing dinner the waiter came to our table, after serving the familiar table popovers and bread, and said "oh - you got overlooked - sorry". Aside the magnificent view I think for what we spent, there are comparable places that give much better service."
