WP24 by Wolfgang PuckStay away from the dinning roomThe place is beautiful, no doubt about that BUT the food is very heavy and greasy. If you're there for dinner, you HAVE to choose between a 3 coarse meal or a 4 coarse meal ($80/$120+ per person). I have no problem with the price, when fine dinning that’s expected BUT the quality of the food must be *worth* the cost.
The views of LA are amazing. If I ever go back, I would sit in the lounge (which is beautiful, with the same views as the dinning area), order sushi and drinks (you can not order sushi in the dinning room).5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good take on ChineseVery good take on Chinese food. Not a huge WP fan but this was an interesting spin. The pre-fixe menu was a surprise and they might want to make that clear when people make reservations for early dining.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMStunningWhat a beautiful restaurant! Fantastic service; our waiter was very attentive and professional. He had a very good knowledge of the wine list, which was amazing because the wine list was HUGE! And it was on an ipad, which was gimmicky but i liked it.
Most importantly the food was Exquisite!!!! Every bite was incredible. My girlfriend and i both cleaned our plates. So delicious!!!!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMPre Staples Center TreatLoved this space. The service and food was great. Portions are filling but not too big. Can't wait to go back.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMCreative Chinese Inspired food.We dined at WP24 on May 3 before the Rolling Stones concert at the Staples Center. We received a great window table and were treated as special as our surrounding diners who included some of L.A.'s A-listers. Dinner began with two wonderful complimentary small plates that consisted of prawn toast and pickled veggies. The appetizer of Spring Rolls with 10 spices was a perfect beginning for the wonderful dishes that followed. The Angry Lobster is a beautiful dish in a spicy sauce with complex flavors that enhance the lobster rather than overpower it. We also tried the Singapore Prawns with a sauce that was slightly sweet and savory. The fried rice with Maine lobster in XO sauce is a nice accompaniment to the two shellfish dishes we ordered.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Peking duck does actuallyThe Peking duck does actually melt in your mouth and is totally lean. Highly impressed.
Most of the appetizer dumplings were surprisingly like real Chinese food, in texture and consistency if not in flavor.
Sauteed beef was very very salty.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThis place was awesome...IThis place was awesome...I cannot believe it does not have a 2 month waiting list. Get there, you won't be dissapointed.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved everything. The babyLoved everything. The baby bao buns were to die for. The prawns were outstanding. And the espresso praline crunch was superb. The "Perfect Asian Martini" tied everything together wonderfully. A bit pricey, but worth it for a special occasion or to impress a girl/client...4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food With A Great View!Lamb chops are to die for! We had a very pleasant evening with the best view in the City. Very easy to enjoy a great meal & equally enjoy good conversation with clients, friends, etc. Our server was very informative & provided excellent choices. We equally love the lounge area if you just want to relax!4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have been going on SundaysWe have been going on Sundays when they offer their fixed dim sum menu only. It's not for vegetarians but the small plates are wonderful. There are four courses and everyone is excellent particularly the chili prawns.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place, Will be backGreat place, Will be back and bring some friend with us. Food was excellent.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMA Must goFantastic food and dining experience. Don't pass it up. One of the best restaurants I have ever dined at, however not kid friendly so leave your kids at home.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMI really enjoyed our meal.I really enjoyed our meal. The service was great and the view is terrific. The food is fantastic but expensive. My only complaint is that you are required to order and pay for a three course prix fix meal and I don't typically order dessert. The price makes this a special occasion or an expense account meal4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, and a lot of it.Great food, and a lot of it. Service is outstanding, but they did keep us waiting after they were suppose to open at 5:30.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMWent there to celebrate myWent there to celebrate my wife getting her U.S. Citizenship and completing the naturalization process. Valet parking was a breeze and they validated so it only cost $10.00 which is a bargain in downtown LA. We first opted to spend a few minutes in the bar to relax. The drinks served had very generous portions and the view of downtown LA from the 24th floor was incredible. Next we were ushered into the dinning room to our table. The staff was very attentive but not overly so. The complementary hors oeuvres served were delicious. Be forewarned, the menu is pricey but well worth the expense and the choices would please anyone with discriminating or eclectic tastes. We will definitely go back in the future.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMCome prepared to eat! Please come hungry! Despite the fact that there are three courses (unless you opt for more), the complementary chefs courses add so much to the amount of food you are served. Each course is artfully cooked to perfection in terms of taste, temperature, and flavours. Everything is ceremoniously served table side. The attention to detail is unmatched. We had arrived 15 minutes early and decided to have a drink at the bar and contemplated an appetiser, however the waitress tacitly "discouraged" us from getting one and now we see why. The amount of food in each course was beyond generous. We are looking forward to eating at the lounge next time to explore the appetiser menu. Another fantastic Wolfgang Puck gem!3/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat experience overall.Great experience overall. The ambiance and the views... that is what we were there for, we were not dissapointed. Some dishes were great, some ok. XO Fried rice with lobster - nothing special, lobster in their sauce was too...saucy (is there a word like that?). The desserts and compliments of the chef were simply amazing. Service was great. Overall, there are not that many places with this kind of view, decor and ambiance, so I would definitely visit again. Menu had a lot of items that we simply didn't have a chance to try because of a 3 course meal, I'd go and give it a try again. Thank you for greeting us with aniversary and writing it on our dessert plate.3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place and food !Was skeptical after reading some of the reviews but am pleasantly surprised. Our party of three enjoyed the entire evening at WP24. Food was great, presentation was very nice and artful, taste good, portions plenty to share, service was good and not overly attentive, the atmosphere is great and the view is tremendous. No complaints.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMEven though we had a 5:30pmEven though we had a 5:30pm reservation and indicated to our server that we needed to be out by 7:30pm for a performance at Nokia next door, it was still a struggle to get our 4 courses and get a bill by 7:45pm. A bit stressful. As it was a Thursday night, they were not even busy, which made it even more frustrating. Other than that, a lovely meal.3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMAlthough pricey, this restaurantAlthough pricey, this restaurant offers great value. The food was excellent, the portions generous, and the presentation outstanding. Our waiter was attentive and got us out in time for our concert as promised.3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMBetter than HONG KONG! Delicious! The ambience is superb..bar is strange. View of downtown LA is stunnIng.The culinary experience is even better. Wolfgang Puck has achieved a Chinese dining experience reminiscent of our trip to HONG KONG....but even better. Xmas Eve...we were served everything on the menu.... (The menu is usually a set menu with choices for appetizer, entree and dessert.)Starting with little surprises of sautéed spiced peanuts.sweet buns of pork, and sautéed zucchini to a giant platter of dimsum with lobster and shrimp wontons among others. The entrees were stunning...Miso cod, lobster shrimp sauté and an amazing Kobe beef/wok fried spinach dish.Ending with a happy anniversary dessert platter of mini confections, our dining experience was PUCK perfection.12/24/2012 12:00:00 AM
