Diner Reviews
  • "We really enjoyed our dinner! The service was incredible, the view was beautiful, and the food was delicious! We stayed in the hotel on the 24th floor so this couldn't have been more convenient."

  • "This restaurant is a amazing and beautiful, great service!"

  • "The restaurant was nice . The view is fantastic . The food was nice . The service was adequate but not great for the price . Average 150.00 per person with two drinks each . The service while friendly and polite was not really top notch . We had to wait to have plates cleared , water refilled , drinks delivered . I would not recommend nor will I go back . I don't mind spending the money on a great meal and I have eaten in some of the best restaurants around the world but this was not great value ."

  • "The only good thing I can say about WP24 was that the service was decent. The food was incredibly disappointing. My husband and I both had upset stomachs after eating there. The food was practically inedible. It tasted like grease. I had a beef stir fry that had very few pieces of meat and the rest of the plate was a bunch of fried leaves (still not sure what kind because they just tasted greasy - possibly spinach). My husband barely ate his fish, pretty much inedible. The appetizers were spicy but ok. But most of the food was aweful. The best part of my entree was the steamed white rice. Unfortunately this disaster cost $300. So upsetting. I am contemplating calling the manager to let the know that the experience was terrible."

  • "I got engaged at this restaurant so I have very fond memories. Love it here and will never forget this moment. Thank you for helping my new fiance pull off the perfect proposal!!!"

  • "Wolf Gang has lost a step and a shame with great views and poor food offering not to mention over priced which you do not mind normally if food was exceptional which not even close. Stay away!"
    Dined on 6/20/2014
  • "My family were seated at the Nest which had a phenomenal view of downtown LA. The food was excellent and staff accommodating for my son s food allergies. However, I felt the food was extremely overpriced for the quality. As an enophile I brought my own bottle only to find out the corkage was very steep. If you are willing to pay high cost for the view and Puck's namesake for palatable food...be my guest."

  • "Location, location ,it's about being at a accessible location, down town LA I had forgotten about this location, especially from the 24 th floor!"
    Dined on 6/17/2014
  • "Over priced average food - I think 50% of the price was for the view - 10% for the service - 40% for the food. Ruth Chris or Donovan's (San Diego) is much better value."

  • "I have wanted to dine here for quite sometime now and finally went this past Saturday evening. Decor was exceptional, view - outstanding, service - very good, Klauss was very helpful. Food was much less than I thought it would be. Very disappointed in the dish I had, duck. Not a lot of taste, but also not greasy, rare in duck dishes. We were a party of six, and no one at the table was delighted with the food."

  • "If you want a spectacular view of Downtown LA, then go to Takami on Wilshire Blvd. There's an $80 minimum per person for the 3 course prix fixe menu in the main dining room. It would've been nice had that been mentioned when they call you to confirm your reservation. Nest, the casual dining option and lounge, is a glorified sports bar with dirty table tops when 90% of the place is empty. The food choices looked like it came from a P.F. Chang's menu. The bar couldn't even get our drink order right. I asked for a Bombay Sapphire Gibson and my server brought over a Gimlet. Instead of bringing class and sophistication to the area, The Ritz-Carlton has completely let go of their high standards to be like every other establishment at LA Live."

  • "Happy that an accessible downtown restaurant with a view, however pricey. Interesting menu choices, nice clean (not mooey, all ingredients identifiable) Chinese food. Swell service."

  • "Food was amazing! Showed up starving, and the food was still more than enough. The view was amazing! The only negative thing was that we had to wait about 15 min for our table because they "had to clear the table", but when we walked in, the place was about 85% empty! "

  • "View was great, did not realize it was a fixed price menu, good food but really not a lot at about 100$ a person. Was disappointed with the interior, thought it was rather cold and sterile. "

  • "We were extremely disappointed in the service. We have been to many Wolfgang Puck restaurants and had high hopes that WP24 would be a fine dining experience. Sadly, they were terribly disorganized. After seating us in the bar, where we ordered appetizers, they said we needed to rush to our table and would deliver the appetizers. We stood to immediately go to the table and found ourselves awkwardly standing for 20 minutes. When we finally were seated, our appetizers never came and they finally confessed they were "lost." Later, our food arrived with half the meals cold. After our entrees were finished it took another 30 minutes for them to even take our dessert orders. It was upsetting, especially as it was a special occasion. "

  • " There were four people in our group. I was the only person in the group that had eaten at WP24 previously. We all decided to have the 3 course meal. We were surprised how quickly our first course was served, so we figured the same would hold true for our main entrée, wrong. It took about 45 minutes from the time we received our first course for the main entrée to be served. During that time no one, other than the person pouring our water came by the table. Finally after about 40 minutes I flagged down one of the servers that kept zooming by our table to inquire about our food. She apologized for the wait and we were served about 5 minutes later. The food was excellent, but the 45 minute wait between courses wasn't."

  • "The crispy pork belly and lobster roll were excellent, but it was a little pricey for the rest of the meal. Like many hotel restaurants, it is geared toward the well healed guests and tourist, not expecting return trade. The froze in the bar while we waiting to be shown our table. "

  • "The food was amazing! The Dim Sum, variety of appetizers and the mains. The lamb was excellent, and the deep fried sea bass. Our big disappointment was that we were celebrating our sons USC graduation, and all three of us wanted the duck. I dreamed about the duck all the way from NY!! We saw them carving many ducks for many tables, but even though we ordered our duck right away our waiter informed us that they were all out. SOOOO Disappointed!"

  • "Good atmosphere, however the food & service was not. First of all, I did not like how my waiter had his arms crossed while looking down on us when he visited our table after we had ordered our food. Second, based on the cost of food vs. quality, the taste & quality was poor (we had to ask for our lamb to be re-cooked). Third, my dinner reservation was for 9:00pm because I was informed that the restaurant was booked full & 9:00pm was the only time available & weekends are reservation only; however the restaurant had plenty of available seats & was truly able to accomodate us to an earlier time - but did not ! (I had called in advance 3hrs earlier & person answered phone did not take the extra measures to help us with earlier seating). "

  • "We enjoyed our special birthday dinner here. The food and service were spot on and we were surprisingly delighted. We let our server make his suggestions and choose the best items. We ordered a 3 and 4 course menu, including peking duck and sea bass. Each course was presented well and delicious. It it definitely special occasion food! The only place the restaurant disappointed was in not remembering that I had noted it was my husband's birthday. "

  • "What a beautiful restaurant in downtown Los Angeles. The views are breathtaking, the service should be better for the amount of money you are paying. The food was delicious, but small portions with a large price point."

  • "Food and atmosphere were 5 stars, but service did not match. Waiters should be more enthusiastic and more willing to help out when we have a question. "

  • "While there were a few service hiccups on this visit, overall we love our WP24 dining experience. The ambiance of the 24th floor wall-to-wall view of the city and the elegance of the dining room is spectacular. The formal attired staff are (for the most part) polished and professional. This is a set price menu and worth the splurge. The chef sends out a few very tasty "amuse" treats - especially love the tasty shrimp toast w/sauce. The albacore sashimi was presented so beautifully and was a great starter. Shanghai Oxtail Noodles are a favorite as is the Peking Duck. The duck is always excellent, not fatty, flavorful, crisp and amazing presentation. Desserts are sized appropriately for the finish. One of our favorite dining experiences."

  • "Im still stunned. The food is superb, the. Views are the best in the city. Even the dessert was incredible (try the bavarian one) Not only am I going back. Im not telling anyone about this place. It will be our aecret ;)"

  • "We were treated very well, great seat next to the large panoramic windows. The decorating is trendy and distracting........ The customers are an odd sort , seemingly on expense accounts. I am vegan, but I do eat fish.....this limited my options drastically and left me hungry..... That should not happen with an $80 fixed price! "

  • "Wonderful flavors, but so much food on the six-course tasting menu that continuing becomes a chore rather than a pleasure. The paired wines are fine but unremarkable; the pours miniscule. If grocery-sized doggie bags are your thing, you'll go home happy. High glass walls make noise levels in the bar physically painful. In the restaurant, if so inclined, you could listen to every word of conversation at tables halfway across the room. Service was impeccable -- personable, unobtrusive and helpful. Next time: fewer courses and better wines bought by the glass."

  • "Bring your big boy wallet, as Wolfgang keeps the prices high in most of his places. When booking on Opentable there was limited availability but when we arrived the restaurant was only half full at best. I'm guessing they have an agreement with the hotels to hold back tables for their concierage services. Atmosphere was really nice, although they played a really strange groupings of songs. Didn't fit the decor...kind of like trying to hard to be different and cool. Service was a bit spotty for the prices, especially with a small crowd, but everybody was pretty nice."

  • "WHILE WE WERE IN LOS ANGLES, WE HAD THE PLEASURE OF DINNING IN THREE WONDERFUL RESTURANTS, SPAGO, PUCK BAR AND GRILL AT LA LIVE AND WP24. WOLFGANG PUCK CERTAINLY IS A MASTER WHEN IT COMES TO RUNNING A GREAT RESTURANT(S). WE ENJOYED ALL OF THE RESTURANTS. THE FOOD, SERVICE AND AMBIENCE WERE FIVE STAR. THE FOOD IN ALL THREE RESTURANTS WAS VERY DIFFERENT, BUT GREAT."

  • "I have twice taken a first date to WP24, and even though neither of us are foodies, the presentation of the food was so fantastic, it was worth it. Our bill came out to $230 plus tip, but we lost track of how many courses were involved. The wine was fantastic and John Lechleidner is an excellent chef. The places is just fantastic."

  • "This place was well worth the pretty Pennie. Every bit of this experience was awesome! Definitely coming back even though I live in San Diego. I've told all my friends. The birthday girl was completely satisfied with this place."

  • "And hope you'll like it, since they're not in a big hurry here. I guess if this was the romantic meal for two that would have been quite appropriate. But, my evening was for a business meal, and at some point you want the venue to sense that and realize you only have so much business to talk about before the rhythm of the conversation can get rough. Food was good, although you'd expect that from WP. All prix fixe, with sides served family style for a bit extra. Don't expect to get out for less than $100/person. The room itself is a bit odd, in that you end up walking about 7 miles from the front desk, through a maze, and doors, until you get to the dining room. You'll pass through the bar, which was full of the see-and-be-seen crowd."

  • "It was nice experience to have dinner with friends at there. Also, we were celebrate my birthday, and I'm glad that I choose to have dinner at there. The view is great, and it's romantic. Good for couple and group of friends."

  • "I really enjoyed this place. I usually have had drinks on the bar side. I was completely unaware there was a restaurant side with a better view than the bar. It was amazing. The only problem was the 5.1 earthquake. But that was had nothing to do with the management. Freaked us out a bit at 24 stories in the air. Anyways. The food was spectacular. I had the tiny dumplings, dan dan dumplings, bao, and the szechuan prawns. I couldn't even finish it was so much food. Sooo good. Definitely more of a special occasion place."
