  • "Good food, great entertainment. Friendly people. Very relaxing atmosphere. Just an overall nice experience."

  • "Had Dinner at World Cafe Live at The Queen and then took in the show, Honey Child! Good food and great entertainment."
    Dined on 4/12/2014
  • "Food and service were good, the menus has a somewhat limited selection. There are only about 8 or 10 choices total (red & white) for wines by the battle. Selection of beer was a little better. I likely wouldn't make a special trip here, but it's OK if you're going to a show at the Queen."

  • "We had dinner before our show. Everything was good. It was nice to be right at the venue for dinner. Very convenient."

  • "World Cafe Live is great as an intimate concert location. Right in downtown Wilmington, it's layout is wonderful for shows, which was the primary reason for our visit. Keeping that in mind, the food was good, and the service was very attentive on a very crowded night. The servers work quickly to get everyone accommodated before the show began, and it was evident. They were fast, and constantly on the move. Prices are fine for what you get."

  • "The upstairs restaurant is a great live music venue but the food was very disappointing. We ordered a pizza and the featured salad. I have had better frozen pizzas from a supermarket and the salad was mushy and bland. The waitress was very friendly. Next time I go there to see a band I will eat elsewhere before the show."

  • "We dined at the World Cafe before a concert so it was very active. The staff was wonderful, the atmosphere was delightful, and the food was great. Amazing happy hour deals on food and drinks. The only small issue we had was that we made a reservation and though we were seated immediately no one came to our table to greet us for 10 minutes after being seated. It was a busy time so we didn't sweat it too hard. Everything else was great."

  • "Convenient if going to a concert at the World Cafe Live. Had to get up to look for waiter on 2 occasions"

  • "After reading reviews of the Cafe, I was excited to try it before a recent show. We had reservation that allowed for plenty of time to eat before show. Service was friendly but unbelievably slow . Slow to take order, slow to get drinks, impossibly slow to get refills, slow to take food order-see a pattern here? Once food arrived, it was not right (burger temp) nor was it good. Tables around us seemed to be having same troubles. Lots of unhappy diners. My most unpleasant dining experience in recent memory. On a positive note-the theater is amazing! Balcony seats were comfy & afforded great view. Driving 3+ hours to see show there was completely worth it. We will definitely be back to theater...NOT to Cafe. Not even for a beer."

  • "nice place to see a live show. small and intimate. Good portions of food. Not an extensive menu but is more health conscience. Service staff was very good. Order tickets for show....reserve a table and enjoy. The World Cafe Live at The Queen is in a very nice, quiet section of Wilmington,DE"

  • "With a mix of original music, hits and live entertainment, the Queen is a gem in itself. Add the component of an inspired menu, good service and an eclectic atmosphere and you have a real hit. Come join the fun at the Queen!"

  • "Wednesday nights music starts at 8:00 but the sound check starts at 6:30. If you're going to catch up with an old friend and want to have a conversation- pick another night. Also, there was no host to seat us and the server forgot to check me in through Open Table. The service was a bit unorganized, but the server was accommodating."

  • "Came for a show and decided to have dinner beforehand. Our server was very pleasant and we went with one of her suggestions for our appetizer which was delicious. For dinner my husband choose the burger with a side salad and I had the warm quinoa and lentil salad. Both dishes were above our expectations. Very lovely evening."

  • "The food was mediocre and they were not aware of how to work the reservation software. We ended up with a total stranger having to sit at the table with us. The hostess that sat us which I found later she was a manager was very rude and exclaimed she didn't care if we didn't like that the 2 person table we ordered wasn't given to us then it's just too bad. The staff was unprepared for the event as well as understaffed because it took me 30 minutes to get a beverage and a hour and fifteen minutes to get food."

  • "Great environment. Attended awesome show and will definitely go back."

  • "Entertainment was awesome! Drinks were good but very pricey!! Food was good. Just didn't enjoy eating with people standing around me while I ate. Or bumping into my table while I tried to eat"

  • "We love World Cafe Life at The Queen! A quick look at the menu might make you think it's typical bar food, but it is 10 steps above! Everything is made fresh and is interesting. The white pizza with arugula is out of this world, the quesadilla is made with the most amazing chicken, and the happy hour has unbelievably great deals. The wait staff is friendly and the music is always eclectic. Go!"

  • "I like this place for music and food. It can be very good but when it is a popular show and place is busy the food and service take a hit. not cheap evening it could be better for the price. still one of the best music food venues in the area."

  • "World Cafe Live Wilmington is a great spot for drinks and apps and dinner before a show. Great friendly service and variety on the menu. The concert schedule is amazing. What a wonderful place to hear music!"

  • "I have been here before for a show downstairs and both times were wonderful. The food is great. The service is a little slow, but it is very busy during concerts so it is understandable. Not a quiet place at all."

  • "I like this location for a small stage music venue, with a bar and good food."

  • "Usually our visits include just happy hour or a show, but this time we stopped by just for dinner. Even though we had what would normally referred to as an early dinner for a Saturday evening, the staff and kitchen was set and ready to go. Service was efficient without being over-bearing and our order was out properly and in a timely fashion."

  • "Great restaurant to go see a show. Had a great time, and will go again."

  • "My husband and I were for a concert. I ordered the chips and guacamole and he had a apple tart. The food was very tasteful. However, the 2 ameretto sours I ordered were very weak and tasted watered down. My husband's flavored coffee( Frangelica) was flavorful."

  • "The combination of live music (even though one of the bands was "marginal" in our opinion) and pretty good food all at a terrific price make this prime for a "retrun engagement". We booked spur of the moment without a problem, so this might be Wilmington's best kept secret--until this review gets out! :)"

  • "We went for a special event, the Sound of Music Sing-A-Long (costume awards, props, movie with closed captioning for music) in January. We had a blast; however, the menu for an event is not the same as the regular menu. Event menus are provided on the Queen's website. Come prepared. The EVENT was kid-friendly; the menu was not. The kids are not adventurous, but were able to find something that would work. Food was good. Servers seemed to have too many tables at once. We arrived early to eat before the movie began and eliminate service delays. We'll do it again with some old friends instead of the kids. It's an audience participation event. Not for the fuddy duddies!"

  • "Good was fair. Bar food with an artisan twist. Waitress and staff were attentive."

  • "interesting fare to accompany the musical offering. The special sandwiches we ordered came with a truly delightful and copious "side" salad of mixed greens (no iceberg) with garbanzos etc and a tasty light dressing. The sandwiches themselves were delicious and quite filling. Prices area couple of bucks more than perhaps at a stand-alone restaurant, but being able to eat well during the concert makes it well worth it."

  • "We went to Upstairs cafe before a show. There were 8 of us at the table. The service was slow and it took us an hour-and-a-have to have a fairly straight forward meal. We only ever saw two waitresses and one or two people who brought out the orders. Granted, we were a bit slow, but far faster than the wait staff or kitchen could manage. Then when our food came, one of the orders was completely wrong. It took until the rest of us were almost done eating to have the correct order come out for the one whose order was incorrect. Finally, to add insult to injury, when the bill came, the person was charged for both meals and had to send the bill back for rework, and three others had to do, also. We almost missed the performance downstairs."

  • "We really enjoyed the small cafe intimate dining experience. Our server was very friendly. He was very helpful answering our questions as we made our menu selections. WCL Burger cooked as ordered, generous portion, very juicy and delicious on croissant bun. Tasty Caesar Salad. Enjoyed creme brulee for dessert. Temperature of Mexican Coffee needed to be hotter. Had a great seat and view of the Minas Jazz Concert. the entire staff was very hospitable and friendly. Look forward to returning to another dinner and concert."

  • "Spring time is farther away then we all hoped soooo...Do yourself a favor, gather special friends & lovers & and see a show at the Queen. It is a jewel in the crown of Market Street Revival . As crisp, fresh, & tasty as the calamari & as smooth & full bodied as the Malbec. A great place to mellow after a rough work week. Find your niche & go."

  • "This is a nice place to grab a casual bite and see a show! It is not a fine dining expperience but, who would expect that from avenue geared toward viewing performances!?"

  • "For a great nite out, go to World Cafe. It's a great venue for all ages. The food was very good, the service could have been better. The waitress was very good .... she was attentive and apologized for the delays. Probably just too much for her to cover. The acoustics are very good for the music and my friend and I could actually hear each other speak! Minas is a pleasure to see and hear. Consummate musicians. I would definitely return for other performances. Dancer"

  • "We enjoyed the show in this cafe venue at the Queen. The food was adequate but I would not go there without a show. Basically it is bar food without a fully stocked bar (only 2 single malts). They started out with a full menu and a chef, it appears that the chef may be gone from the cafe."

  • "Went here for dinner and the Spokey Speaky show. Overall, had a great time and will definitely be returning back to the Queen. The food was pretty good, but the menu could use some more options. The beer/wine list was great and not overly priced. But, the best thing here is the venue to watch live music. If you are going to see a show Downstairs, be sure to get there early. The coat check took a while and it will get crowded in the Standing Room only sections."

  • "The venue for lots of different music groups, I attended the Minas doing Sergio Mendes night. I arrived early to have dinner there. I order the fish and chips which were very good. Before I started with coffee which arrived cold. I barely saw my waitress, or could not get her attention. Really bad service I thought. I finally got a glass of water 20 minutes after asking for it and more coffee which was never delivered. I wanted to order dessert but could not get her attention. The place was not that crowded and at my count there were about 6 people waiting tables."

  • "Friendly staff, great service and awesome entertainment - what a great evening! Can't say enough about Wilmington's Queen Theater. You won't be disappointed. Great place to hear great music. The Nighthawks were awesome."

  • "We made a reservation in conjunction with a show we were seeing. Our table was in a different room than the event and there was adequate space to seat us near the relevant stage. Service was slow which made us late arriving to the event downstairs."
