A word from Workshop Kitchen + Bar
Dedicated to food, drink, design, and community. Workshop Kitchen + Bar is Palm Spring's newest gem in the heart of the Uptown Design District.
Located in the Class 1 Historic El Paseo building from 1926, Workshop’s Industrial chic interior gives the historic space a contemporary edge befitting the locale.

Our kitchen is based around seasonal products from local farms, so the menu changes often. Although "Americana" may best describe the style of our food, influences are many. Favorite techniques in the kitchen include our wood-fired pizza oven, wood-fired grill, and custom sous-vide station.
The bar looks mostly to American classics and carefully homemade basics. Original cocktails vary with the market's availability and our bartender's mood.

* Please note: Booth seating is limited and is reserved for parties of 3 - 6. We will do our best to accommodate your requests, but make no guarantees. For special requests, please call us at (760) 459-3451. *

We've dined here several times before but were totally unprepared for the vast improvement in all aspects. The room always looked great - cool, sophisticated and urban. But it sparkles now! The menu is much more interesting. Our group of three split the 22 oz. ribeye - there was plenty for all (we also had salads) and the sides were as delicious as the entree. Can't wait to return!

Chic surroundings. Sophisticated ambience. Sensational food and service and an equally delightful wine list. Workshop Kitchen & Bar is top of my list in Palm Springs! Saunter in and enjoy the beautifully appointed space, complimented by a suitable sound track. Taste each delicately prepared plate while sipping on a carefully crafted cocktail. The ambience is subtle with an electric undertone, perfect for a quite week night meal or elegant evening with friends. Don't think - just go!

Table of 3 and seated right away inside. Waters were brought and menus. Then it took quite a bit of time for someone to come to our table to take a beverage order. We started to get the feeling that because we were inside, while a large group of guy pals seemingly having a gathering outside, that we were being neglected so staff could meet their needs. We had to alert another server and then from that point on service was fine. We all shared everything we ordered. The large format chicken was unavailable and disappointed about that. But everything else was delicious except for the pizza, too dry and the broccoli rabe was very bitter. The cocktail carrot penicillin I'd order again!

You can't do much better than this in Palm Springs. We had our fill of corporate feeling ginormous restaurants, so Workshop definitely fit the bill. Lively but not loud, sleek but not 'cold' interior, interesting small plates, the usual suspects in the main course list. The service was a little bit lacking, but not offensive. Note - the main dining room is booths on the sides and they won't seat parties of 2 in booths - you'll be at the long large community table that runs down the center of the restaurant, even with a reservation. It wasn't as bad as I would expect - the table is narrow enough to have a quiet conversation with your dining companion. And they try not to seat you directly next to other diners unless they're booked solid.

I was so happy to snag a reservation at this North Palm Springs hot-spot! After all of the build-up, I thought I might be disappointed, but instead I was delighted from the moment we sat down. One of the most inventive cocktail menus I've seen in a long time and tasty too! The mushroom risotto, which was a special that night, we shared as an appetizer as well as many delicious salad items. Black cod was perfectly cooked, but don't forget the veggies: perfectly roasted carrots and Brussels sprouts to cry over. I would highly recommend the patio. Romantic ambiance and quiet enough for conversation. Staff was extremely friendly and attentive. I'll be back for sure!

Very interesting selection of local items. Started with a Ward 8 cocktail that was yummy. Had the mushroom salad that was outstanding. Pizza special had a very thin soft crust...just how I like it...topped with a mild chorizo and apricots and was very tasty. My partner had a hamburger that was not particularly memorable but the duck fat fries were to die for. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. The urban look of the space is very appealing. The booth seating for 2-4 is very comfy and intimate and my preference for conversation. However a large portion of the seating is at two large communal tables that would be great for groups larger than 4. A great addition to North Palm Canyon!

Went here for a romantic anniversary dinner. Everything was gorgeous and delicious. The only negative would be that the service was extremely persistent, and when it comes to clearing plates, even aggressive. Our server was lovely and attentive, but sometimes there is too much of a good thing with servers/buspeople! They tried to clear our plates so many times, starting almost right after we got our food. At one point, they asked to clear our entrée plate, and then started to take it before we answered. There was about 1/3 of a $30 pork chop sitting on this plate!

This resaurant had so much potential but was ruined by poor service and aloof management. The drinks (a bowl of alcoholic punch" came after the appetizer... One of the grouo's dinner came after the rest were done eating....we ordered tea and when asked where to put out tea bags after use, the waiter suggested we put them in our punch cups, "since we didnt like the punch anyways". Finally, the waiter couldnt count and accused us of leaving too little money to cover the bill. Management was even worse than server if thats possible. One of the worst, almost comical dining experiences ever.

Based on a friend's recommendation I made a reservation at this restaurant. When we arrived we were shown to the communal table(seats were like ottomans - no Backs). I asked for a booth and was told that "people specifically reserve booths" and that there was nothing else available till 9:45pm(we arrived at 8:30). I saw several booths sit empty for most of the time we were there. Our waitress was very helpful, informative and nice. The food was ok. My scallops had grit in every one - although the sauce was delicious. Some bright spots were the pizza and the octopus carpaccio - everything else was meh. I am giving this restaurant a fair review based on the bad handling of our reservation by the hostess, and the so-so food items.

The outdoor dining area was set for a large table of 20 or so. Our server was overwhelmed and there was one busboy. The bridal party or whatever lame bridesmaid event being hosted there ordered wine at the last minute and we and ALL the other tables outside were completely ignored. Our check came to well over $500 and would surely expect better. We had to take our own check to the host and hostess who were completely incompetent and didn't even care that we had to service ourselves or care about anyone else. I am a local and will spread the word about our experience.

We were on vacation in Palm Springs and found this gem of a restaurant. Not only does it have a very cool atmosphere (beautiful indoor decor with a cool courtyard), but the food was fantastic. Enjoyed the steak frites and the pork chop was out of this world with arugala and pear. The dessert of brownie, marshmallow, and peanut butter salt ice cream was also out of this world. Our server, Haley, was the best. She was so cute and friendly and very informative about menu options. The menu was fresh and inventive. We were there celebrating my friends bachelorette party and sat at a middle table. It was great for our group because we could see the bar and the hustle and bustle of the restaurant. Although it was an industrial look, the ambiance remained warm and elegant. The only thing that wasn't great is that my cod was undercooked. I admire they acknowledged the mistake and promptly offered something else instead. Thanks for making our night a wonderful experience!

Beautiful space just pumps you up with Ambience! The venue can absorb small medium and large parties without feeling too crowded. With that said service was ok and food was fair to good (we tried most of the smalls & one plate dish) with 1-2 orders above average (Pan Roasted U-10 Scallops and Mesquite-Charred Brussel Sprouts) With really a small calibration on improving service and delivering more consistent dishes like the Pan Roasted Scallops I could potentially dine repeatedly here.

If you like the ambiance and decor of the restaurant, you will pay extra for it and receive very small dinner entrees leaving you still hungry. They were quick to turn the table and the server was too busy and swift to leave the table. However, we did like the authentic drinks and service at the bar, but that was prior to the place becoming busy.
