A word from Workshop Kitchen + Bar
Dedicated to food, drink, design, and community. Workshop Kitchen + Bar is Palm Spring's newest gem in the heart of the Uptown Design District.
Located in the Class 1 Historic El Paseo building from 1926, Workshop’s Industrial chic interior gives the historic space a contemporary edge befitting the locale.

Our kitchen is based around seasonal products from local farms, so the menu changes often. Although "Americana" may best describe the style of our food, influences are many. Favorite techniques in the kitchen include our wood-fired pizza oven, wood-fired grill, and custom sous-vide station.
The bar looks mostly to American classics and carefully homemade basics. Original cocktails vary with the market's availability and our bartender's mood.

* Please note: Booth seating is limited and is reserved for parties of 3 - 6. We will do our best to accommodate your requests, but make no guarantees. For special requests, please call us at (760) 459-3451. *

Our server, Haley, was the best. She was so cute and friendly and very informative about menu options. The menu was fresh and inventive. We were there celebrating my friends bachelorette party and sat at a middle table. It was great for our group because we could see the bar and the hustle and bustle of the restaurant. Although it was an industrial look, the ambiance remained warm and elegant. The only thing that wasn't great is that my cod was undercooked. I admire they acknowledged the mistake and promptly offered something else instead. Thanks for making our night a wonderful experience!

My friend and I spent the weekend in Palm Springs and had dinner Saturday night at Workshop. Everything was outstanding! The space is gorgeous, well-designed, and has great ambiance. The service was terrific- our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and was attentive without rushing us. The food was delicious, fresh, and well-presented. Highly recommended!

We As recommend to us as the restaurant we wanted to go was closed, for vacation. It was very modern, new wave. Great food. We stated with several of the appitizers, and everything was delicious. The we had salad, and entrée. We decided to do family style where we just shared everything and we totally got full.

Work Shop continues to be one of the best restaurants in the valley. I'm very particular when it comes to restaurants and Work Shop delivers every time. Always friendly service. Always a vibrant, energetic scene. And the food is always great. In a town of average/sub par restaurants, I'm surprised this place isn't booked solid every night. It's a must if you haven't yet.

Beautiful space just pumps you up with Ambience! The venue can absorb small medium and large parties without feeling too crowded. With that said service was ok and food was fair to good (we tried most of the smalls & one plate dish) with 1-2 orders above average (Pan Roasted U-10 Scallops and Mesquite-Charred Brussel Sprouts) With really a small calibration on improving service and delivering more consistent dishes like the Pan Roasted Scallops I could potentially dine repeatedly here.

If you like the ambiance and decor of the restaurant, you will pay extra for it and receive very small dinner entrees leaving you still hungry. They were quick to turn the table and the server was too busy and swift to leave the table. However, we did like the authentic drinks and service at the bar, but that was prior to the place becoming busy.

Prices are way to high. Portions way too small (even for entrees). They charge $12 for vodka and then $3 to make it a Martini. Just charge me $15 and be done with it. That seems so petty. How about $13 for 7, count them, 7 baby carrots? Attitude is snooty here, like you're lucky to have snagged a table. Brussel Sprouts were undercooked and tasted soapy. Fish and pork chop were just o.k. Won't be returning .

Went to Workshop to celebrate my husband's birthday with another couple. Everything was wonderful! Had the punch for four which seemed more like a bottomless bowl that lasted us the whole meal. Tried a lot of different things on the menu and loved everything. The carrots and cod were two of our overall favorites. Service was great. Ambiance was great. Perfect evening! Will definitely be going back the next time we're in Palm Springs!

There is such a thing as too much food at Palm Springs restaurants. Not here. We actually left hungry after a two course dinner. And a $175 bill. Chef abilities are over rated. Presentation is excellent. Have been here at least a dozen times but will no longer go. Too little for too much.

The service was terrible. Very slow. We waited at least 15 minutes between the drink and appetizer order. There were four of us, and they brought drinks for two of us first, then about 5 minutes later, they brought the other drinks. One of us ordered an appetizer as a main course, and it arrived even before the other appetizers. The food was okay. Small portions and overpriced. The girl bussing tables was surly and intrusive. The interior design was cool but not worth the experience.

We loved everything about this place and were very excited to get a table during our Fourth of July weekend getaway. Everything except the restaurant's caste system. Parties of 3 or more (or, apparently 2, if you ask ahead of time -- the website is unclear about that feature) are seated in semi-private booths while couples or large parties are relegated to the communal table. Although there is ample room, one is required to sit on a square backless stool. This would be fine for a quick bite. But a multi-course meal, intended to be enjoyed over a much longer period, makes this arrangement intolerable. We were uncomfortable within 15 minutes and it soured our entire experience. This is a fatal design flaw and should be rethought.

After driving through the Mohave desert and then a cool-down in a hotel pool, I decided to treat myself. I couldn't have picked a better place. The cool, straight lines of the long concrete table and glowing glass bar at its far end nodded toward Georgia O'Keefe in its simple beauty. I quickly put myself in the hands of the knowledgeable female server and followed all her suggestions, from the summery avacado infused cocktail to the lavender gelato. Not sure when I'll be back in Palm Springs, but I sure hope Workshop Kitchen is there when I return!

Lots of mixed reviews on this restaurant, but my experience was good. The location, atmosphere and design is great - we had a group of 6 so sat at the communal table which was fine, for 4 or less choose a booth - extremely high concrete pillars separate the booths for privacy. Started with shared small plates - octopus carpaccio was the winner, followed by brussel sprouts, goat cheese, then the tomato /Burrata. I had the scallops dinner, large size, tender but a bit over-cooked. The sauce on the scallops was tasty, but pretty heavy - seemed cream based. Wine and drinks were very good. Although slightly pricey, the overall dinner was good - enjoyed it and would recommend giving it a try.

The pork chop was to die for! The wait staff was well informed not only about the food how it was prepared and the ingredients but also was completely in the know about the architecture and history of the building which I find very interesting. The wait staff although busy makes you feel as though you are their only table. The food was excellent. The service was superior. Interesting Restaurant Week menu drew us in. Great appetizers -- warm goat cheese with lentils and grilled asparagus were great. The entrees were also quite nice. Chicken was good, and the restaurant subbed charred broccoli rabe for rice, which was appreciated. Food was good enough for us to plan a second trip to try the regular menu.

My past experience was excellent; however, this time the restaurant outdid itself. The tapas approach was perfect for our group of four. Dishes rolled out at a leisurely pace, allowing us to savor every dish. The wine parings proved en pointe. Our server interjected herself only when necessary (e.g., when describing the wines, talking about the dishes). While not hovering, she was there when we had a question and/or a request. At no time did the four of us feel rushed. I can't wait to revisit to the restaurant.
