Workshop Kitchen + BarBrunchGreat experience, had the chef/owner stop by the table, very personable.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWe can't understand why thereWe can't understand why there isn't standing room only at this place. The food is fantastic and imaginative. I wish we had this
restaurant up north - we'd be there every week! As it is we make the drive from Palm Desert each week we are in town.
Best hamburger in the valley. We LOVE the cesear salad with nettle dressing and the seafood dishes as well as the meats are
to die for. Don't know if we like brunch or dinner brtter so we do both.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMFoodie refuge in Palm SpringsFrom a foodie perspective, this is the most ambitious restaurant in Palm Springs, where I weekend about once a year. The food wasn't perfect or amazing, but it is clearly a cut above places like Jake's and Birba, and two cuts above Trio.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding food in an exceptionallOutstanding food in an exceptionally beautiful environment.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious! We ordered their 30 ounce rib-eye for table and it was amazing, highly recommend!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWe've eaten at Workshop onWe've eaten at Workshop on 3 occasions, and they are consistently excellent. Superb, highly innovative cuisine, emphasis on small plates suitable for sharing. Highlights included a shaved fennel salad, duck confit canneloni, lamb chops, meyer lemon tart with beet sorbet. Many high end wines, but also reasonably priced excellent wines.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfectionThe meal was excellent, there was nothing our party could comment on except how good it was.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoyable dining experience.Great place to celebrate my wife's birthday. Food was great, service was great.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMVery Palm Springs chic!Walk thru the old PS building into the open our guard and you are transported between eras "mid century Palm Springs and contemporary modern. The food was seasonal, easy to share and amazing. Would definitely return!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding!Awesome food and wine. Very cool space. Wines were excellent and Lonnie was great with tastings and advice.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AM3rd time at Workshop & looking3rd time at Workshop & looking forward to a 4th soon. I prefer the community table down the middle versus the booths. The menu consistantly changes & all of it is well thiught out, prepared and served.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMWelcome Addition......to the largely quality starved Palm Springs dining community! We had some delicious baked peas and an asparagus/morel appetizer, accompanied by a lovely Red Car Rose. Then my companion had a nice mustard rubbed chicken half and I had an expertly sauteed scallop dish - perfectly seared on the outside and yet lightly cooked on the inside - with a black squid ink risotto. For dessert we had a flourless chocolate cake and a bread pudding which were fine if not up to the quality of the main courses. We ate outside in the courtyard which was quiet, attractive and comfortable. Service was excellent - interior design inside the restaurant is gorgeous. I can definitely recommend this experience.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of Palm Springs' BestThe Workshop Kitchen & Bar is a well run restaurant with the owner on the premises and an interesting, if eclectic, menu. The lentil and goat cheese small plate was excellent, while the Caesar salad with nettle dressing was just average and the coin asparagus and lobster bowl was bland and uninteresting. The steak entree was exceptional, as were the scallops. The pizza of the day on a flat bread crust was a bit dry and merely okay. Desert highlights included the bread pudding with cardamom ice cream, perhaps the best I've ever tasted, and the blood orange sorbet, also quite delicious. Over all, the food is imaginative and the service friendly. The prices seemed reasonable for the quality of the food.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMThe most sophisticated restaurantThe most sophisticated restaurant in the valley, but without pretention. Food is imaginative and delicious.Unique blending of tastes in any one dish.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMPurely delightful. UniquePurely delightful. Unique culinary creations and so delicious!,4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMInteresting design and space.Interesting design and space. Very avant garde & chic. Has a bit of attitude but with a friendly touch & they seem to be able to back it up. Food was extremely well prepared. Especially enjoyed the english peas & crispy local goat cheese. The soup of the evening was cream of cauliflower and it was superb. The swordfish entree revealed a nice twist with the artichoke & bulgar salad & mint. Chicken Diavolo seemed a bit dry that night but still held its own with the tasty forbidden rice. Enjoyed that the manager came over to check in on us and assist us with another glass of wine!!
Will return with more friends but my inaugeral visit was with my BFF from San Francisco.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMLove this place. On the ambiance,Love this place. On the ambiance, you either like it or not. We like it a lot. The food is inventive, creative, fresh, well prepared and well presented. The servers are terrific. They are adults who are knowledgable about the menu, but with no attitude at all. Wonderful and rare combination. Would recommend it to anyone.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and ambience!Great food and ambience! Love their mission of using seasonal and local ingredients.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious food -- even foodie-worthDelicious food -- even foodie-worthy, which seems to be in short supply in the Palm Springs area. Was visiting from San Francisco, and will be back next time I'm in town. Super cool, chic ambiance as well. For those looking for a quiet spot this may not be it though -- lots of concrete and glass here that echos sound. Still, a great find and well worth checking out!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMA very interesting space,A very interesting space, most people sit at a "communal table". Ask for a booth if thats what you want. The chairs at the communal have no back, so if that bothers you- ask for a chair or booth. Interesting cocktail list, along w/wines & beers. We arrived about 6:30. still wasn't full, but by 7pm packed. They have ourdoor seating, which will be nice going into spring/summer. Foor very interesting, many to share. Space is long & narrow, & the booths/tables are poured concrete. Noise level can get a bit loud. Not a good place for kids/babies. Food was delicious-can't wait to go back. Parking is on the street, or behind building. I think you will enjoy,4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWould have liked to have satWould have liked to have sat inside. It was a bit of a dissapointment to not have been part of the vibe. Oh Well...4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMThis place was a nice surprise. This place was a nice surprise. Cozy and warm ambiance, outstanding service. Great food especially the sea bass papillotte. Would go there again without hesitation!3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMLived up to its billing! FinallyLived up to its billing! Finally a modern restaurant in Palm Springs, instead of another boring steakhouse or chain restaurant. Try the "punch." Food was amazingly fresh, simply prepared, full of flavor, in a word "awesome." Service was excellent, food delivered very timely, no hurry, just a relaxing, satisfying meal.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMwe had a great meal here.we had a great meal here. The food was delicious and the service excellent. My biggest criticism is the only reservation available all weekend long was at 5:00 on Friday. We took that reservation. When we got there the restaurant was empty. When we left at 7 the restaurant was still mostly empty. Their reservation system seems significantly flawed.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous! We ate here onFabulous! We ate here on the recommendation of a friend. We now consider them our best friend. There were 6 of us, and we ordered across the menu - something for everyone. I had a bite of almost everything, and did not find anything I did not love. We actually did order "one of each" of the desserts - really super. The beet sorbet on top of a lemon tart was a standout. The servvie was also terrific. One of my compatriots said it would be worth planning an overnight to Palm Springs from LA just so her husband could eat here!3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMUber CoolTucked away in a courtyard is this uber cool and hip place with funky cement booths and tables. The owners have taken a theme of urban chic all the way. Food was fresh and amazing! Prices very fair. Only issue is that it you need to plan ahead to get reservations. Very happy that people have discovered this great place and are apparently coming back for more.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMFlasvorful, fantastic, and loudSophisticated, casually elegant urban. Conversation if seated at the center slender table, is difficult, always caught between sharing secrets with the people seated next to you while shouting to the person you are with, or not having a conversation. The acouswtics are such tyhat noise bouncesa. If you are looking for a quiet night out, this is not the reewstaurant. If you want privacy, this is not the restaurant as booth seating is minimal, and reserved not by the date you made the reservation, rather by the way management decides.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the best in the valleyOne of the best in the valley with excellent farm to table food selections. Delicious combinations of flavors - everyone loved everything; how often does that happen ????3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a pleasure!! GreatAlways a pleasure!! Great people, service and outstanding food!! Besides, such a beautiful, upscale (in a GOOD way!!) building interior!! What a great place for us in PS!! Thank you...3/19/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our second time forThis was our second time for Brunch. Had an excellent experience each time. The server was friendly and informative. The kitchen did an excellent job with fresh, tasty ingredients thoughtfully combined. Our party of 6 enjoyed every morsel in the simple elegance of this well designed restaurant. We will be back for dinner.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous! Best, most interesting,Fabulous! Best, most interesting, creative food in the valley!3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful discovery!Fabulous in ALL ways! Went to Palm Springs for the first time and discovered Workshop. We went multiple times.2/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWe ate here on Christmas EveWe ate here on Christmas Eve and enjoyed every minute of the extravagant evening. What a wonderful restaurant!!!!! Yum.12/24/2012 12:00:00 AMFantastic mealFinally a great restaurant in Palm Springs that is worth the hype. From the calamari salad to the chicken diabolo, this was a delicious meal. The Ward 8 is a good drink if you like rye. This place is worth trying and we'll be back the next time we are in town.12/8/2012 12:00:00 AM
