Wednesday evening at 7 pm was very busy. Even with reservations, we had to wait for a table. Indoor seating is limited and noisy with lots of foot traffic of staff. Outdoor seating is wonderful, weather permitting. Food portions are generous. Easy to get items to take home from the bakery store on your way out.

The Bakery has a great outdoor space to eat under heaters. Dependable food. Menu doesn't change much except for the addition of daily specials, but there is something for everyone and they are willing to make substitutions to most dishes. Very easy place to be. Buy a chocolate dipped macaroon from the bakery for dessert or the next day! YUM!

Outside seating is nice. Indoors is very cramped and noisy. We were seated outside but they put us in an area that already had full tables while another area had empty tables. Food is expensive especially when you consider the quality.

I live in the neighborhood so eat lunch and dinner often here. It goes up and down, no consistency. Their panini's and I often ask for grilled cheese are boring and dry. They put too much dressing on the salads and has seemed to just lose that loving feeling lately. It is bland and service is awful again.

You can't miss with the Woodside bakery and cafe! It consistently offers great food, great atmosphere, friendly service. Perfect for a casual dinner for 2 or to entertain friends or out-of- town guests. The upscale, yet casual atmosphere and the choice of inside or patio makes it a favorite. Desserts are outstanding as well!

This place may have offered terrific food at some point. The sophisticated country bistro approach appears very promising at first blush, but on this our first try, we hit a sour note on just about every dish we ordered. IMHO, there are way too many items on the menu to be good at so many offerings. I got the impression the kitchen was mailing it in -- definitely no love coming from this kitchen. Its a local haunt, so I'm sure they'll stay busy.

I love the location and we had a waiter who was genuinely gracious and polite. Unfortunately, my meal came quite a bit later than the three others at our table. Also, my warm spinach salad was not warm, but the chicken was overcooked. So, I was disappointed.

We liked the outdoor dining experience. The starters were really good. We ordered the Starter Trio (with calamari, mussels and crab cakes). The service was also excellent. We were disappointed with the main course, all came up slightly bland in flavors. The special fried chicken sandwich, tasted like grilled chicken with a little batter. We also had the Scampi with risotto, grilled chicken sandwich, egg benedict, and breakfast with ribeye steak. My son liked the grilled chicken sandwich but I thought they were all pretty bland. For dessert, we had the cheese cake, apple pie with vanilla ice cream and fruit tart. The fruit tart was great but we didn't enjoy the other 2 desserts very much.

I have eaten here many times for lunch and the quality of the food and service is consistenly very good. The staff is friendly and courteous. Seating outside is definitely preferable as the indoors is crowded and ridiculously noisy. Parking can be a problem on weekdays over the noon hour. Their complimentary homemade bread is excellent. They are very receptive to adjustments or changes in the presentation of their entrees to fit individual preferences or dietary constraints.

This was our first time here and we will be coming back soon! From the moment you walk in you are hit with the aromas from the bakery, grill and brick oven and know you're in for a treat! WB&C has friendly and attentive service,an extensive wine list, great starters and a wide offering of meat & veggie options. Everything that hit our table, from the freshly baked bread to the a-maz-ing desserts, were flavorful and satisfying. The only negative is that it was rainy so we did not venture outside to check out their patio, but plan to very, very soon!

I took my 80+ year old mother here for New Year's Day brunch because a friend told me that they have the best egg's benedict. Since my mother loves egg's benedict I thought I would let her decide for herself and she agreed that they do have the best she's tasted since the old Villa Hotel Coffee Shop in San Mateo closed down. My husband commented that I always hang out in Woodside, but the truth is "everything" I've eaten at any restaurant or deli in Woodside has always been great. The Woodside Bakery is no exception with lots of menu selections from pasta and salads to pancakes and an outside eating area which is even nice on a wet or chilly day. The service was good on New Year's Day and it wasn't too crowded but still a bit noisy.
