Diner Reviews
  • "The service was great along with the menu. I felt that we were dining in our own kitchen. A lot of food for the money along with all the special details to the experience. Bar drinks were fabulous as well. "

  • "Food was great and 200 mile drive to celebrate with family was worth it , but our server Alex made it a memory."

  • "The Woodman Lodge is a great place to dine. It isn't a 'cheap diner" by any means. But if you want a wonderful meal, way above average service, and a beautiful old building this is your place. Our party of 4 each had a different entree'. Prime rib, filet, steak oscar and a rib eye steak. Each was as perfectly prepared as possible. The portions were very generous. I would estimate that the 14 oz Prime Rib was closer to 18 ounces. There was no "rush" have us leave. The bill isn't for the faint of heart but if you are looking for a quality place to eat and are willing to pay for it, try the Woodman Lodge."

  • "Food was plentiful, somewhat overpriced, and not cooked to perfection. Steak was charred and raw in the middle. Service was not followed up as expected. Price of beer excessive and not competitive. Charge for splitting a salad considered inappropriate."

  • "I have been dinning here for a few years and is where we always meet friends for dinner. You cannot beat the Ambience, and the menu nvere disappoints. Great wine list. Great staff. Beats out the big famous staek houses hands down."

  • "The steak (filet) was good, as was the salad. The French fries were served limp, wet, and cold. They charge extra for sauce. They charge extra for everything they can think of and to save another few cents per meal they no longer serve bread - there's a charge if you order some. The manager (I think) with whom we inquired about the bread said they "choose" not to serve bread because too many people were filling up on bread and taking doggie bags home. What an outrage! What are they "big brother" the restauranteur? Anyhow, back to the pricing, everything is a la carte and nothing is inexpensive. Prices are high for Manhattan, never mind Snoqualmie, WA. Four fewer customers, as of this past weekend. Us."

  • "Ever since we were recommended to come here by a friend in February; we have come back twice and plan on coming here for all special occasions. It is hands down the best steak you will ever eat. We just went for eight year anniversary and the music was perfect and romantic without bring too loud, the server remembered us and also wished us Happy Anniversary. It was a perfect dinner."

  • "We were pleasantly pleased with the restaurant. It's located in a small town (don't be fooled it is a little pricey) but the food was prepared really well. We ordered the cowboy steak (they had a special $10 off) and it was very tender, juicy and tasty. It was 20oz so we were able to share it. We also ordered the artichoke, mushrooms and house salad. All were done well. The food wasn't fancy but it was straight forward and tasted good. Luckily we had made a reservation because it was really crowded and we were there on a Wednesday."

  • "Enjoy dining at the lodge, but still would rather see a little more variety to their menu. Good food, but limited choices. Good wine, and nice time regardless"

  • "Our PRIMARY reason for eating there was it was handy for discussing real estate business after a day of visiting sites in the area and we were quietly, discreetly using mobile devices for visual aid to the conversation. Our waiter came after 30 minutes and when the food came mine was MIA, so only I still had my phone out. The next thing I know the manager/owner(?) was insistently, irritatedly, commanding me to put my phone away and enjoy my friends, telling us to make eye contact with and enjoy each other. It was rude, presumptuous, ignorant, condescending and uncalled for behavior on his part, that left me feeling humiliated, angry and defensive. If his aim was to make sure we never graced his establishment again, then he was successful."

  • "The comparisons made at the restaurant by our group were this competes with great steakhouses in New York with a Pacific NW feel....our server was top notch!"

  • "I've been to several "steak houses" in the Bellevue/Seattle area but the Woodman in Snoqualmie stands out on many levels. The food is always excellent, staff are friendly and responsive and the overall atmosphere is unique. We have made this a regular place even if its a little further out."

  • "Went there on a Wed. Evening after seeing their online menu showed 32.95 for Cowboy steak. Made reservations through open table and arrived 5 min early. Place had 2 tables filled. They still sat us right next to main door. Realized it was a bad table after feeling cold draft every time a new customer came in. Not a big deal. Asked the waiter about Wed steak special and he said it was 39.90. I thought maybe I didn't look at the online menu correctly so I just said okay and ordered it. After eating I checked the online menu through my phone and saw that it was indeed 32.95. Told the waiter and he said he would change the price on our receipt but came back a min later saying he wouldn't. He told me they changed prices 4 months ago."

  • "Seemed the menu wasn't completely available n became a joke w the waiter. Where we gave him a hard time so much wasn't available. In addition, there was mikes lemonade or a hard cider available which I found hard since I didn't want to drink a mixed drink."

  • "Good food, casual atmosphere but too expensive for the area"

  • "This was my second visit. As last time, the rib eye was absolutely delicious. The manager was wonderful in assisting with the selection of a perfect WA wine. Unfortunately, the Elk was overcooked and the mushroom sauce too salty."

  • "Fabulous food, service & atmosphere! We had 14 of us & the owner & bartender & our waiter took great care of every person! We will definitely be back!"

  • "We've been coming to the Woodman for years. What we've witnessed is a reduction in what you get for the value. We've been ordering the artichoke appetizer since they've made it. In fairness, it is still delicious. However, you used to get one, entire artichoke. Now you get a small artichoke sectioned on a plate that is more like a small bite. They also used to serve delicious bread. The other evening, when we requested it, we were told they no longer make any bread because of "the size of their entrees." That seemed like lame reasoning to justify a reduction in restaurant costs. I would have appreciated some with my meal."

  • ""I love the relaxed feel of this place. The décor was that of a well appointed hunting lodge. The table was split on the *BASEBALL-CUT TOP SIRLOIN 12 oz. One person thought it was great, but another felt that the meat was tough. Everyone loved the baked beans. Service was well-timed. I would enjoy going back for happy hour."

  • "We have had brunch here and my husband's steak burger was out of this world. Then we went back for dinner and we had steak. I had steak and lobster. My husband's steak was perfect and the best we ever had. My steak was overcooked but still remarkably tasty but the lobster was overcooked and tasteless but everything was still really good. The service and ambience was stunning. I say everyone should eat her at least once. But you WILL come back."

  • "Our first experience and not the last at this fine establishment. There are not enough characters for me to do a total in depth review so I'll make this short and sweet. Dinner started out with two caesar wedge salads both lightly grilled with mine served with anchovies (heaven)! My order, the Steak Oscar, medium rare with a baked potato and asparagus to die for. In know what you're thinking. Asparagus to die for? YES! It was like candy and the freshest I have ever had. The steak was grilled to perfection. My wife's dinner was the deep sea scallops on a bed of mushroom risotto. The scallops were cooked perfectly. A couple negatives. The "Happy Hour" glass of wine my wife had was a bit steep for HH prices. Risotto just a tad under cooked."

  • "Excellent food, friendly and very traditional dinning. Building is classic early 1900's updated and very well maintained. Good service that does not intrude on your dinning."

  • "We went there in Tuesday night so my husband could have the rib special. The service was so slow. We have eaten there a few times over the last 6 months and the a ervice seems to be slower. Prior to this last visit they served bread and brought drinks while we waited for food. This made the long wait not as bad because there was bread to munch on. Now they no longer serve bread and the wait is longer! I would not recommend this restaurant if you are really hungry and would like to eat quickly!! There are other options in Snoqualmie with much quicker service. For me, it doesn't matter how good your food is, If I have a long wait, I won't return."

  • "Falling off the bone, meaty and just the right amount of BBQ Sauce. Great to have a choice of 2 sides to go with. Our ''Go To" place for great food and service."

  • "My son raved about the Woodman Lodge and being hungry for a good steak, my wife and I thought we'd give it a try. My wife ordered the Filet Mignon Medium-Well. Her steak arrived bleeding - Rare. The baked potatoe would not melt butter. We asked the waiter to have the steak cooked to Medium-Well and pointed out the baked potatoe was lukewarm. When the steak returned, it was Well-Done, the vegtables and potatoe were cold. Our waiter never asked how our meal was, nor if we wanted another drink - both my wife and I each had a beer which were empty halfway thru our meal. He didn't even ask if we wanted dessert. Unsure if our bad experience was due to being seated upstairs (food is brought up from downstairs by runners), or an incompetent waiter."

  • "Wonderful place! Nick, our waitier was absolutely great, just the right amount of attentiveness. Loved the chandelier and the whole place. Steak was done perfectly as well. Would definitely go back and have already recommended it to several people."

  • "Food is wonderful, charm and history of the Lodge. Best cooked steaks ever, lobster was delicious. The quality and engagement of the service was subpar. Our server had no knowledge of the wine list and didn't offer to have someone help us. She also didn't know anything about the history of the Lodge. Extensive wine list, but no one on staff or anyone that was offered to us to with wine knowledge. I would recommend increasing the knowledge and so relaxed nature of the servers and have it coincide with the type of food and wine that is offered. For parents or the restaurant to allow a crying baby upstairs on a Saturday night at 8:00 pm was un acceptable. A nice dinner, wine and ability to have a conversation should be automatic. ."

  • "This restaurant was excellent especially regarding their food and service. My wife ordered the fillet and I ordered the cowboy sirloin - both were excellent, cooked to perfection. Great old style place with dark wood throughout and Snoqualmie decorations as well. One of the best steak places in the Snoqualmie, North Bend, Fall City, Issaquah areas."

  • "Food & service were great, as always. Had dinner on main floor across from bar. VERY noisy & hard to communicate with our group. Was also cold on outside seating. Would have opted for upstairs seating for conversation & warmth had we known."

  • "This is my favorite restaurant in the world. I brought a high profile customer of mine to the woodman, who has traveled the world extensively. He has eatin the highest quality of food available from every corner of the world. I ordered for us. We had my personal favorite, the cowboy steak. He said it was one of the best meals he's ever had, anywhere!!!!!"

  • "We ate dinner last Saturday evening . I stated we were celebrating a close friends 65th birthday. I reminded our waiter. He did bring her a scoop of vanilla ice cream . While we did ask for separate checks, I was most displeased that her ice cream wasn't complimentary. We spent well over $200! The ice cream charge was placed on HER bill! At the very least if this was not a complimentary treat for a special birthday, that charge should have been on our bill. It was a bit embarrassing. Also, we did feel the prices were a bit high although the food choices were good. Our overall chat on the way home was that unfortunately we would probably not make the 65+ mile drive there again. Thank you for asking our opinion."

  • "The Woodman is a great steakhouse with one problem. The silverware has thin round handles. I have arthritis and had to take pain medication half way through dinner from attempting to hold the fork. When I return, I will bring my own silverware."
