  • "Great restraunt. I go there whenever we are in town for a visit."

  • "Went to dinner with my sisters and my Ma for her birthday. Wine was good. Dinner was served late but the Manager apologized so this made up for it (he bought a round of drinks) Grouper was very good but not very hot. Prime ri was tasty, so my sisters said. The desert was fabulous. I did not like that the web site implied there was live music during our dinner. The live music was at the bar portion which means we did not hear any music."

  • "We had the prime rib buffet and it was very good. The buffet included a very nice salad bar with a good variety of items."

  • "When I booked this reservation I was very excited. However when we arrived for our dinner reservation I was taken back. The manager was sitting ppl and basically ignored us while he walked the restaurant and when we mentioned a window seat he said why u can't see anything its dark and sat us in a corner. So much for the reservation stating a romantic dinner. Our server was very kind and friendly. However the steak was cooked wrong and then repeatedly miss cooked until it looked like jerky. The manager never came to our table to try and resolve the situation. Instead he sat in the corner with his head in paperwork. This restaurant has great potential but the execution is below par. Also keep in mind everything closes down at 10:00."

  • "I have been there several times and the food is good, but nothing exceptional for the price. I think you're paying for the view and lodge area. I think the prices could definitely be less and more creativity wiht food."

  • "We go here often, as we have a cabin nearby. The chef is creative, there is a wide variety of choices, the room is quiet and comfortable, and the service is always very good even when it is full."

  • "Very pleased with whole experience at Eagle Ridge."

  • "Our dining experiences were just great during our stay at the lodge! From the romantic dinner to the brunch to the late night snack.....everything was delicious. The prime rib buffet was perfect as was the chicken entree. The Sunday brunch and the breakfast buffet were amazing! The wine list as well as the dessert choices were a nice compliment to the entire experience! We enjoyed our weekend stay and the Woodlands Restaurant was definitely a highlight that will bring us back to this getaway!"

  • "The best in Galena the food and service always excellent"

  • "I travel a bit more than the average person and dine out way more than the average person. This restaurant was a piece of heaven for a very weary traveler of 5 hour plane ride and a 3 hour road trip to arrive at this resort....the Woodland fine dining area of this resort was truly an oasis...Jay was our waiter person and he was superb in every way."

  • "Our party of four was promptly seated even though we had arrived 15 minutes early. Our server was the evening was excellent and very friendly. All four of us were very satisfied with the quality of our dinners. Three of them ordered from the menu, while I had the prime rib buffet. I would return to the Woodlands for another meal if I was in the area."

  • "Woodlands was a wonderful place to dine. The food was very good and reasonably priced. The portions were generous and the ambiance was just perfect. It is a great addition to a wonderful resort. Would definately eat there again."

  • "We've tried them all, Woodlands is best Galena has to offer plus a nice setting and overlook of Lake Galena. Corn chowder is excellent. We always get whatever the "featured salad" is, it's always been good. Menu changes fairly regularly. Right now the Pheasant with Gnocci is dynamite, but may not be there long. Strip steak and tuna is always on menu and very good."

  • "The meal was top notch! Menu offered a nice selection of entrees, wine list was very good and the staff was excellent!"

  • "We were at the Woodlands for brunch the day after our daughter's wedding at Eagle Ridge. Our family of five sat and ate and talked for nearly 3 hours and never felt rushed. The wait staff kindly asked if we wanted anything else before they took down the buffet. The wide variety of food was delicious, the service was outstanding and the atmosphere was relaxing. This was just what we all needed after a very busy weekend. Thanks!"

  • "Whenever we stay at Eagle Ridge, we must have the Sunday Brunch. They have two options: the breakfast brunch and Sunday brunch both of which are outstanding. Highly recommend."

  • "This was my first time in Galena and the Eagle Ridge Resort. I dined on a Tuesday night, so the restaurant was very quiet and not very busy. I was met by a very nice receptionist who seated me near a window with a beautiful view. I also appreciated the time he took to read my Open Table profile and knew my desired seating. I wasn't offered a wine list so I had a glass of the Eagle Ridge brand Cab. It was very good. My server was delightful and she was very attentive. I ordered a small filet and it was cooked to perfection. My entire meal was enjoyable. My stay at Eagle Ridge was very short, but I would recommend the Woodlands as a place to have dinner, especially toward the end of the week/weekend when there is more going on."

  • "Own a vacation home in Galena territory . I have brought my family to brunch here many times, however new management has taken over. The resturant was relatively empty when my family of 10 arrived. We had a reservation and were told due to the size of my party we had to be split in 2 groups because they could not seat such a large party! Also the food setup made it difficult to get to all the food. Omlet station poorly placed. Waitress was very nice and food was good, expensive. I should have fussed about seating arrangement. Will try other options in area in the future."

  • "Beautiful view to be sure, but the food was mediocre and arrived not exactly cold, but definitely not hot. We had an early reservation at 5:30."

  • "My wife & I dined here on our anniversary because it was convenient especially after our hot air balloon ride was cancelled. The restaurant is great for anyone staying at Eagle Ridge & seems to be a convenient dining option for golfers or any other outdoor activities available at the resort. The service was very good & the food was good but not exceptional."

  • "Everything about the Restaurant was excellent. Highly recommend."

  • "Our table was ready and we were seated immediately. Our server arrived quickly and described our dining options--menu, breakfast buffet, or Sunday brunch. We chose the brunch for ~$25 per person. The price of the brunch includes everything but the tax. Sunday brunch diners are offered mimosas and/or champagne in addition to juices, coffee, etc. Breakfast items included a made-to-order egg station (omelets available), assorted fruits, as well as hot and cold entrees. Hot lunch items included three entrees and two sides. There was also a carving station (three meats), a variety of salads, cheeses, and desserts. When the restaurant got busy it did take a little longer for our server to remove our plates and refill beverages."

  • "This was our first time at the Woodlands of Eagle Ridge and we were very satisfied. Service was very good as was the food. On the Saturday evening, they had an all-you-can-eat prime rib bar with salad, loaded baked potatoes and other root vegetables that looked like we'd have to get rolled out on a wheelbarrow if we opted in to this choice (in other words it would be a great choice for hungry men). But we went with a lighter meal of a small fillet and sauteed bass. Cocktails to start (martinis) were mixed well with top shelf choices and the Holy Sisters dessert (you'll have to go there to figure this one out) was over the top excellent - think deep fried Sinnibon :) Add this to good dining choices in the Galena territory."

  • "After a sub par dinner the previous night in downtown galena we decided to give Woodlands at Eagle Ridge a try. They have really scenic tables of the frozen lake behind the lodge. The wine list and menu are really something you can't find outside of Chicago, its obvious this place caters to more Chicago clientele. Food and service were excellent and they even took our picture out front by the fireplace. Highly recommend stopping by this restaurant."

  • "This has been our 4th year up here. We love it. We are not diappointed at all. My husband and I celebrate our anniversary in Eagle Ridge. It was everything and more."

  • "We had a great dinner. All the people and waitress were very friendly and helpful. The food was very good and the setting was very arm and romantic . The only negative was the service was slow and not attentive enough to our needs. Overall though, we had a wonderful time and would definitely come back"

  • "My husband and I absolutely LOVE The Woodlands for a nice date night! We spend Valentine's Day there every year and will continue to do so! The Woodlands food is amazing and the staff could not be friendlier! We highly recommend!!"

  • "There was one exception to the food. A filet was ordered medium rare and it was well done. The kitchec took too long to correct as the rest of the group of 8 had finished eating by the time the properly prepared steak was served. m"

  • "Buffet delicious, however pricey for those who do not go back for seconds. Potatos should be served beside meat, then accoutrements."
    Dined on 12/25/2013
  • "From the moment we were seated, there was an unusual smell at our table. Not sure if it was a moldy/musty smell, or what it was. We mentioned it to our waitress and she had no response. It ruined our dinner, though. The smell was not pleasant at all!"
