What more can someone ask for? They offer great cocktails/wine, inspired entrées, delectable desserts, and the cherry: top-rate customer service. My girlfriend and I had the bacon wrapped shrimp and scallops respectively. They were great, both in preparation and quality of ingredients. These (and our great accompanying wines + desserts) were suggested by our server Dahan. Atmosphere is pleasant and warm. Fireplaces light up the entire dining room. The menu has a bit of everything to please all. The wine list is outstanding. I have seen bottles on the list that you would pay 30% more for in any other Chicagoland or Illinois restuarant. The somollier has done an outstanding job with the wine list. The food and service were excellent. I would recommend this restaurant as a hidden gem for anyone who is staying in the Galena area. It is more than worth the 20 min drive to over the river to dine here. Saw that Woodfire was rated pretty highly and the menu was outrageously priced, so I chose to try it. One of the best restaurants I've been too in a long time. Service was outstanding, waitresses from other tables would help clear plates and ask if you needed anything. Food was mouth watering! We had the salmon and the prime rib, it was to die for! We both ordered from the special Valentine's menu and the seared scallops were outstanding, as was the lemon cake with raspberry sauce. Our server, Lisa, was outstanding. Our favorites were the avocado rolls with a chili dipping sauce, the lobster bisque, and the fresh raspberry mohito! But everything we ordered starting with the cocktails all the way down to the creme brulee and complimentary espresso truffles was incredible.
Our server, Lisa, paced everything out for us perfectly and was so personable.
