  • "Woodfire Grill did a great job making my partner feel special on his birthday. Loved how they put his name on the menu and it seemed that everyone working came by and wished him a happy birthday. The food was outstanding. Was a great night. Thanks"

  • "We booked this on Open table reviews. The service was fine and the managers response to our issues was great. The presentation of the food was terrific, but there were issues with quality. The salmon entree was seriously undercooked, red and not even translucent. The lamb entree was ordered medium, but was served as rare at best. I suspect the chef realized that the lamb would not be remotely tender at medium and it was still tough and lacking in flavor as rare. Of note, the variety of sauces with the lamb did not really complement the dish and seemed to be conflicting with the flavor of the lamb. The manager indicated that the chef did not consider the requests of the diners and prepared things based on his preferences."

  • "We had no problem getting a reservation and the food was spectacular. Wife and I had a long deserving night without kids and enjoyed it at the Woodfire. Enjoyed the service and food. The General Manager was warm and inviting, as well as layed back. As a business entrepreneur in the hospitality industry, I look and rate the service of the staff and upper management, and it was well in tune with the customers. Great choice............"

  • "I've been to Woodfire Grill twice since chef Tyler Williams took the helm and he has elevated it to the top tier of Atlanta restaurants. Chef Williams' menu focuses on highly seasonal ingredients but with inventive and playful twists. Many dishes feature subtle asian or middle-eastern flavorings as well as contemporary cooking techniques. For example, we started with a raw mushroom shaved asparagus salad that incorporated bonito flakes, dashi vinaigrette, and a spring sorrel foam. Such a simple dish but with lots of depth and complexity. Other highlights were the olive oil poach salmon, wood roated lamb shank and grilled trumpet mushroom. Would be remiss not to mention the outstanding wine pairings and overall top tier service."

  • "We enjoyed the 5 course tasting menu which included several of the options that were on the regular menu. The plates were creative, and delicious. I especially liked the olive oil poached salmon, and the steak. Service was excellent - attentive, but not overbearing. Nice wine list."

  • "Everything about this place is exceptional! The service, the food, the ambiance...exceptional. Honestly, I've never dined at a restaurant before where I felt so catered to and taken care of. From JR calling to confirm our reservation to Jeff suggesting wines for our meals; no pretentious attitudes, just our best dining experience at heart. A personalized menu is another feature that truly creates a person centered dining experience."

  • "We went this weekend to celebrate 2 birthdays, mine and my friends. We were a party of 6 and they put us in a private room and even customized the menu with our names at the top wishing us happy birthday. I had the Hamachi Crudo, followed by Egg Wellington and for my entree I got the Halibut Oscar, with pecan pie for dessert. every single thing I ate was delicious. everyone in my party said wonderful things about their food. no one was disappointed! We are extremely happy with our choice. Service was great. An all around great experience!"

  • "My wife and I went on a Saturday evening to celebrate our 37th Wedding Anniversary. We've been to many restaurants over the years. New York, Philly, Chicago, Naples. just to name a few towns we've lived. The service at Woodfire rivals the best of any of them. My wife ordered the stake while I ordered the grouper. I enjoyed the grouper. She loved the steak ! Everything was cooked perfectly. The food was fresh and high quality."

  • "Impressed beyond expectations! Chef who has to prepare what 's available tends to be more creative and this one was stellar! Lamb shank was delicious, moist, tender and flavorful! My daughter was encouraged to try something new and had the sweetbreads for the first time at the encouragement of our great waiter! She also enjoyed the duck all made gluten free to boot! We will certainly be back."

  • "Wow!! Always great food with such complexity. Chef really creates a dining experience! We are never disappointed with our 5 or 7 course. Simple ingredients well prepared and presented. They asked regarding our likes and dislikes and created courses for our enjoyment! They were able to modify for my gluten intolerance. LOVE THIS PLACE!!! Team is very courteous and timely!!! We will be back!!"

  • "We went to Woodfire Grill with our daughter and her new fiancé to celebrate a trifecta of life events: their engagement, future son-in-law's Phd defense, and my birthday. The food was creative and delicious. My main criteria for a 5 star ratingt is that is is something I could not possibly get anywhere else. We got that kind of food and it was spectacular. We were the boisterous, food-loving people at the center of the room enjoying the experience completely. The staff were gracious and worked hard to make the event special for us. Great job, Tyler and company."

  • "Delightful, creative food. Wonderfully fresh, perfectly combined ingredients in every dish I tried over three different visits. Makes me wish I was in Atlanta more frequently."

  • "My wife and I went for the 5 course tasting menu this past Saturday and I have to say, I haven't had such an incredible meal in Atlanta in a very long time. The complexity of each of the dishes and melding of different tastes was incredible. I also had a Just What the Doctor Ordered cocktail and it lived up to it's name perfectly."

  • "Last Saturday was our first experience at Woodfire Grill -- it was my husband's birthday, and we were looking for a food-centered night to remember. As a former food writer for a west coast daily newspaper, I've enjoyed Atlanta's burgeoning food scene, so I've also followed Tyler Williams' rising career as well (we lived in Oregon for many years before moving to the Southeast). Needless to say, expectations were high. I'm happy to report that we were not disappointed. We elected to go with the seven-course tasting menu. The quantity and variety were perfect — one compact, powerful presentation after the next. We loved the element of surprise and the wine pairings were spot on. The overall service and experience were wonderful."

  • "Absolutely 100% worth every penny!! I'm not a vegetarian but I wanted to try the 5 course vegetarian dinner and O.M.G. It was mind blowing! It was the best if not a close first to Baccannilla. Heck! I think it's a tie at first place! Cannot wait to go back!!"

  • "Two of us ordered the $52 Wagyu ribeye steak for a special treat. It was good but not great, chewy. The Halibut was very good and their drinks were also very good. Service was excellent."

  • "Not sure if they are open for brunch but we went for dinner and found the atmosphere very comfortable, the menu so different than anywhere else I've been offering you a new way of eating, the service excellent, the food delicious and can't wait to go back"

  • "This was a definate dining experience. The food was amazing from start to finish. The preparation and taste is beyond words. The place is busy for good reason. The menu is very unique stretches your limits. The items are so unique I can't begin to tell you or even remember the things we ate. I was very impressed. Be prepared for an evening of dining, there is nothing fast about this experience."

  • "My husband and I decided to try Woodfire Grill again, (our last visit was in August, 2013 for my birthday, and we had the tasting menu YUM!!) and it was another superb experience with everything, from service to the wonderfully creative and delectable food that was presented. I told Michael, our waiter that I compare the food from here to Bacchanalia, which is my all time favorite restaurant. The great news is you don't have to walk away with a $250-300 bill when you leave. Everyone is very friendly and knowledgeable.Go and treat yourself soon to this wonderful restaurant!!."

  • "For those special life changing occasions whereby afterwards the future will never be the same... In Atlanta, I chose Woodfire Grill. The staff was both attentive and sensitive to our needs and I experienced the most exquisite 5 course pairing I can personally remember. The presentation and the combination of the ingredients was completely masterful. Ideally suited for your global foodie associates and for that special - unusual occasions, mine, laying part of my soul to rest."

  • "The bartender has quite a talent for creating unique cocktails that most importantly taste incredible. His blending of ingredients you would not normally consider together is masterful. The wine list has a wonderful range in price and the owner (sommelier as well) gave us wonderful information and recommendations. Our dinner was very good although was outshone by the standard in cocktails and wine. The risotto was a bit heavy but the striped bass delectable. Only request is to please please replace the carpet when you walk in. Would make a tremendous difference in the ambience. Overall - very very good and will be back."

  • "My husband and I don't even live in Atlanta, but go to Woodfire Grill every time we are here, about 6 times a year. The food is always delicious, sophisticated but not "precious". You will find yourself eating every last morsel. There are no weak points in the food; meat, fish and veg equally outstanding. And, a GREAT bartender. The ambiance, while nice, is not remotely reflective of the level of food and the excellent, attentive and knowledgeable service. Well done! I wish you were in our home town! PS We travel extensively for business and have the great privilege of eating in many of the best restaurants in the best food cities in the world, and we love Woodfire Grill. Thank you!"

  • "Chef Tyler and Andrew (waiter) created a wonderful experience. Took my husband as a surprise for his birthday and we had the seven (7) course tasting with wine pairing. My husband has a shellfish allergy so I called ahead and they were more than prepared with alternative courses. Each course and tasting was unique and they quickly provided alternatives if something did not match your palate. The service was top notch and everyone was enthusiastic and attentive in creating a special evening. I would certainly recommend the Woodfire Grille."

  • "We finally made it to Woodfire Grill, and we were blown away! Unlike many fine dining restaurants, the atmosphere was laid-back, somewhat casual, and very comfortable--not pretentious at all! The food was thoughtful, beautiful, and most importantly delicious. I really appreciate that the restaurant takes care to source locally, seasonally and organically. I will highly recommend this restaurant and we will definitely be back!!"

  • "We did the 5-course tasting menu in celebration of our anniversary. We were given a custom menu wishing us well on our special day, and were greeted by each staff member with the same sentiments. The food was amazing, and the service was absolutely top notch. I would absolutely return to Woodfire Grill myself, and recommend to anyone that they go as well, especially for any special occasion."

  • "All I can say is WOW! We had not had the opportunity to dine at Woodfire Grill until this past Saturday night and we were blown away by the whole experience! The impecable service, the ambiance, the food - my party of 6 had a perfect culinary experience! We had the 5 Course Dinner and we will be back!!! Thank you!"

  • "I went with a friend on Saturday night. Pleasantly surprised that they have complimentary valet and although we had to wait about 30 minutes before our table was ready, the food was worth the wait! We both ordered the 5-course tasting menu (which had an amuse to start) and I loved every one of the dishes we were brought. All of them had fantastic flavor and texture. Amazing! I would highly recommend Woodfire Grill!"

  • "One of the best meals I've had here in Atlanta, comparable to the chef's table at the Four Seasons. The Santa Barbara sea urchin appetizer was a vibrantly fresh taste of the sea, and a great start to the meal. The pork shoulder second course was fork tender and very tasty. And the main course, sweetbreads with veal cheek was a nice contrast of flavors and texture and also very tasty, albeit a bit small and lacking in presentation for $37. There should be another chocolate desert added to the menu in my opinion, perhaps a chocolate cheesecake. We look forward to our next visit, and if you haven't been, you will not be disappointed. Great restaurant and worthy of its praise. And I cannot forget... the best rye Manhattan!!"

  • "This was our first trip to Woodfire. We went for my husbands birthday. All I can say is oh my! The service was delightful, attentive and friendly. We did the 5 course tasting. It was a spectacular adventure. It is expensive, however the experience was worth every penny!"

  • "Based on opentable reviews we tried the fixed price menu. The use of unusual ingredients to make small portion of undisclosed food appear at our table gave the evening an element of surprise. The portions were incredibly small for the pricing especially of the sea bass and beef courses. The grains in cold broth was unusual but ok, the cobia with sauce and green bean pieces should have been hot, the stripped sea bass was good as was the beef course. The desert was rich and tasty. Predinner we were treated to grape leaves stuffed with rice and topped with sumac yogurt tasty but very chewey. I would have much preferred a three course fixed menu with choices for each course and a better price."
