Woodfire Grill indulges Atlantans with seasonally influenced, ingredient-focused cuisine. The menu changes daily and features fresh organic ingredients. Executive Chef Tyler Williams incorporates the seasonal offerings of small local farms and purveyors as well as organic beef, lamb, pork, poultry and seafood for simply prepared cuisine. Foods are fire-roasted and grilled with an a la carte menu comprised of first, second, third and dessert courses. Five and seven course chef tasting menus are available every night. Since opening in 2002, Woodfire Grill has been honored by critics in numerous reviews, by both local and national press. Everything we had was absolutely delicious and perfectly prepared, from the heirloom cherry tomato salad (incredible) to the Alaskan halibut (amazing) to the Georgia peach pie (scrumptious)! In addition, our server (Andrew) was exactly what you'd want in a server -- friendly, knowledgeable, attentive but not overbearing. We will definitely go to Woodfire Grill again and we'll request Andrew as our server. What a wonderful night! Thank you!"

  • "We had a party of 6 which WFG was great about accommodating since we added two guests last minute. We enjoyed a cocktail while waiting for the rest of our party. When our friends arrived, we still needed to wait for our table - no problem we all wanted to have a drink in the bar anyway. The host seemed annoyed at our group - although we were the only people in the bar - and asked us to move to the lounge. Why? I do not know. Not very welcoming at all. Our table decided to go for the 5 course tasting menu at $75 each & four of us had the wine pairing. The courses were small and uninspiring and we were dropping $400 for a dinner for 2 . For that price, I expect an amazing experience and it was not."

One specifically that I recommend and love is Eugene's, and I was certain I wouldn't find a better experience nearby. I was dead wrong. Woodfire Grill outperformed in all areas I put a lot of importance in. The service was exceptional, the attention was great, and the little details the staff went above and beyond to make us happy was appreciated! My table had the 7 course tasting meal with some of us also getting the wine pairing. The food was incredibly fresh and delicious, and we were very happy with the wine choices. Woodfire Grill should be viewed as a model by other restaurants to reach the high quality experience offered here."

From the minute you are welcomed in the front door, the experience exemplifies what enjoyable dining is all about. The constantly-evolving menu, the juxtapositioning in complexity & simplicity of flavors, the brisk & accommodative attentions of the wait-staff, all without a hiccup; it's inspirational. Woodfire's execution in these things has been honed to its highest form of art. Best of all, it is relaxing and without pretense. Bravo once again!"

  • "Some aspects of my meal were excellent, some good, and some predictable -- by that I mean could have been had in dozens of others Atlanta venues. The only serious negative is the wine list. It contains some excellent choices, however the chardonnay options were extremely limited. In order to get a decent wine, I had to go with a $51 half bottle. Or I could have ordered by the glass at $16 per glass. The best thing that I had was the lobster appetizer. It was truly outstanding. The rest of the meal was mostly good. Service and setting were perfect."

  • "The staff goes above and beyond to make sure you have a great experience. The host and managers all knew both of our names and that it was her birthday. We got a personalized menu to take home that said "Happy Birthday Alex!" . The kitchen sent us multiple fun foods to taste since it was her birthday. The food was very good. Lots of obscure pairings, but it all worked pretty well. There was hardky a dirty dish on the table. If you want your girl to feel special. This is a good spot."

  • "Folks may love this place; but, in my opinion, this place is long over-due for a total interior renovation. Very dated decor and colors with do-it-yourself lighting. Background music was distracting and right out of the 80's, at times spoiling what little ambiance there was. Chairs were also uncomfortable when you sit for two hours. Regarding food, love the smoke flavor but at times there were too many added flavor layers all competing instead of blending. First time there and always wanted to eat there. Not in any hurry to return."

  • "it is for me one of the two top Atlanta restaurants. Of course coming from europe I haven't tried all the local restaurants, but several indeed. I had grilled local asparagus, soft crab tempura, pork belly and a chocolate truffles. Everything extremely good while the belly was outstanding. Good wines not too overpriced ... and what I really enjoied was the service:Giordano, my main waiter, was capable, knowledgeable and friendly still very professional (he can speak quite a good Italian that of course makes it easier for me). Everybody, including one of the partners, came to compliment me for being back after a period.... an excellent feeling of being a person and not just a customer for them"

  • "We celebrated our anniversary with the seven course tasting menu. Each course was excellent, and the chef modified a few courses based on my wife's food preferences. Service was spot on. I had two cocktails chosen and prepared by the bar, and both were delicious. This was one of the best celebratory meals we've had and look forward to coming back."

We both agree that the Chef's Tasting Menu was the best food experience we have ever had. It's quite different not knowing what is going to be served next, but I found myself eagerly anticipating each course. The wait staff hits that perfect balance of being attentive without being overbearing and they went above and beyond what was necessary to make my wife's 30th birthday special. We even received special menus wishing her a happy birthday as well as an additional dessert course that was spectacular (I never knew chocolate ganache would marry so well with carrot cake!)."

When mentioned to the waitress she immediately got a new plate full of sea food. Very prompt and very courteous appreciated how it was handled. Foods all fresh and full of flavor"

  • "I have eaten better here on other occasions. During the last visit, the food from the grill were of the mark. The fish was a little dry and the lamb was not juicy. Also, one of the vegetable on my lamb dish was too salted although I could feel that the ingredients and flavors of the dish were top. For the price we pay, this kind of inconsistency is not nice."
