The atmosphere and architectural design are really great- old industrial revamp. The food is seriously good, albeit with an over-the-top "seasonal, farm-to-table" concept (not using citrus even in drinks because it's autumn, and they're not local, etc). It's almost a comedy bit to hear the waiter describe every nuance of the senses imparted to the food, while he actually looks like he stepped off the set of "Portlandia". It's a special place though. Seattle meets Baltimore on the culinary radar. Nice outdoor fire pit too.

The restaurant has great character and a nice setting, but the food was only mediocre and the wine was well overpriced. We were 45 minutes late from our reservation time; but to the restaurant's credit we were given two free appetizers.

My wife and I had brunch. The drinks were so-so and over priced. I would try one of the coffee drinks next time. I had the enchiladas which were amazing, the cheese was special and was a nice portion. My wife had the fried oysters which were good but we wouldn't order again. Dessert was mixed, the spiced pear was delicious but the apple pie was a little pot filled with sliced apples and was a big disappointment. We would go again but only as a special occasion and probably skip the overpriced drinks and dessert.

Woodberry Kitchen is so wonderful - food is fresh, imaginative, locally sourced. I have eaten there many times but I am a big breakfast/brunch person. It takes me almost an hour to get here and smile all the way there and all the way home. High quality and my kids are huge fans, too.

It is a good restaurant with above average food, but significantly overpriced. The staff is friendly and service oriented. We didn't have to wait long after our reservation time. At summer probably it's nice to eat outside. We have been there 3-4 times and overall we will come again. Our friends were there first time and they will not be back, because of price (they blame us for inviting them).

Booked weeks in advance and could not get a seating except either at 5PM or 9PM. Yet, there were many open tables between 5 and 7PM as we were dining. They also take walk ins at the bar and on the patio. Would recommend that instead of trying to get a reservation. Wine list was rather pricey. No traditional bar cocktails. Server was very pleasant.

I took family members to dinner as a celebration on 10/24. There was a slight wait for our 9:15 table but the wait outside by the fire pit was comfortable. Our table gave a view of the open kitchen. We decided to share multiple plates of food for the meal- everything looked so beautiful! Our server Virginia said she would have the kitchen send food in small waves, and it worked perfectly. Refined touches in service were greatly appreciated- dishes were thoughtfully divided & paced well. Virginia noticed a certain sauce was enjoyed and brought out another small ramekin of it. Highlights were the oyster stew, mushroom toast & butterscotch pudding. Staff at every level made it clear that notes on reservations are read and taken seriously.

This was our second time at woodberry kitchen I had made the reservation almost one month in advance and had called several times since we were celebrating my sons 19 th Bday. We arrived early and checked in with the hostess . We waited one and half hour even past our reservation time . The food is awful the drinks are watered down . It truly is a barn . It does not compare to other classy resturants in town like Pazo's or ozu bay or Aldo's . The drinks are so watered down . Do yourself a favor go somewhere else . It does not deserve no1 spot mediocre at best .

Pros: valet parking, great (but pricey) cocktails. The rockfish which was delicious and my girlfriend had the tavern steak which was also excellent. for appetizers, we ordered oysters and the crab stew. both were good but nothing special. our server did a good job as well. cons: we had an 8 pm reservation but were not seated until 8:25. the hostess offered us immediate seating outside, despite the fact that it was 50 degrees out. screwing up the reservation was a big disappointment for me personally. I think most would consider woodberry to be a special dining experience and to have to stand around for 25 minutes when you've had a reservation for 10 days felt pretty silly. I'll definitely try some other restaurants before coming back to WK

I loved the old mill atmosphere. Smoked oysters were excellent. Flat bread with brisket was average. Arugula salad was over dressed and under seasoned. Pasta with seafood very good. Crab cake was good. Over all coming from California and hearing about this being the best restaurant in Baltimore our expectations were very high. It was good, but not the best meal I have ever had. I would come back now that I have realistic expectations.

There's a very interesting feel at Woodberry Kitchen, which personally makes it feel homey. The food is really well prepared and desserts have a really interesting variety. It's a little bit fancier and pricier than restaurants just East down the road in Hampden but the whole menu is filled with well thought out dishes and are executed fantastically so it is worth it on a special night out. You really can't go wrong with what you pick.

We had a reservation for 715, but arrived at 630 and were seated right away. We started with the pumpkin dumplings as an appetizer, even though it was a main course. The chef split the order in half so my husband and I could each enjoy a portion. They were great. I got the crab cake dinner and my husband got the fish fry basket. Both were fresh and very tasty. We were even given a complimentary dessert for our anniversary.

As all the reviews attest, this is the place for great food and service. It was very laid back, but yet elegant. One of our party was almost 45 minutes late, but all the staff were telling us to relax, don't worry. Because of the this place's popularity, and I'm sure a full reservation list, I really thought it would be a problem. But there was no rushing us. Food was stellar; even the coffee was the best I've had out.

As before, Woodberry Kitchen left us all impressed! The service was excellent. Our server was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about recommending and discussing the menu. Ditto with the sommelier and with a nice wine list. Six of us ordered a wide assortment and I sampled them all. Each was very nicely done in its own way. You will not be disappointed. Only criticism is that even with a reservation we had to wait 45 minutes for our table. The staff was very apologetic and did bring us a complimentary appetizer while we waited. It was a busy night at a very desirable place, it happens.

I went for my anniversary and was kind of disappointed. The wait staff were great and the baked oysters were amazing but I will say, not a place for a romantic evening. the tables are way to close together. i couldnt concentrate on my own conversations because all you could hear was the buzz of other conversations around you. The metal seats were freezing. the beet salad was just fair for the price. And the scallops were WAY over salted. I just feel for the price everything should be perfect. I did however love the fact that almost everything was local and very creative. It was hard to rate the restaurant above because it really depends what you like or what you are going for. The salty scallops could just have been a fluke.

I frequently go to Baltimore and have always wanted to try this restaurant since I first read about it in the Washington Post. I finally made it there and we are already planning on going back the next time we are in the city since the menu changes constantly. There are so many interesting options on the menu it was hard to decide but the wait staff was very patient in helping us navigate thru so many enticing plates.... We ended up ordering several of the smaller plates versus something from the supper menu so that we could try more. No one at the table could decide which was their favorite because everything was delicious. Go early and check out the neighborhood - there are also several interesting storefronts to explore.
