Diner Reviews
  • "Great brunch! But sadly the French Toast was burnt and the Pancake was raw in many spots. :( The Pecan Pie was the best I have EVER had!!! The service was great and the food tasty but maybe they were just careless with cooking times. I prefer Woodberry Kitchen's dinner as we have never had this problem with their dinners. "

  • "We returned to Woodberry Kitchen after a few year hiatus (working away from Baltimore.) We had a delicious brunch, everything was spot on from drinks, to coffee, food, the service...you name it, it was great. I was accidentally brought the incorrect entree, and it was fixed immediately before I could even flag our waiter. We will definitely be back! Keeping our fingers crossed for a DC location..."

  • "We enjoyed the scenic view from the upper level, as well as the server who was attentive, without being in the way. The food was Delicious! It was a very nice dining experience!"

  • "I had heard a lot of friends raving about this place. Went there on a date (make reservations!!!) and it was packed solid, even the bar area. I had a beer at the bar and we were seated. The overall area is not large, so with kitchen, bar, and guests' noise/converstaions, the sound level was surprisingly high. But it didn't distract because the food was the star! I had oysters and the beef roast and she had the chicken. Oysters were fantastic and both the beef and chicken were so surprisingly flavorful and juicy! the outsides of the meat were seared or something so it was covered in tasty crispies - really fantastic. Then we split a Sundae dessert (hard choices) which was original and also very good. I will definitely come back soon"

  • "Food and cocktails were outstanding...ask not to be seated upstairs, you feel removed from the restaurant and a lot of stairs for a girl in heels on date night! "

  • "We love Woodberry and have returned time and time again even though we live over 45 mins away. Dinner for two is typically about $150 with apps, drinks and desert but everything we have had here is simply delicious!!! We will keep returning!"

  • "We came to Woodberry Kitchen to celebrate my husband's birthday. Although we made a reservation 6 weeks ago, it took over 35 minutes for us to get our table. The bar was packed so there was no way for us to get a drink so we ended up lining up outside along with another 50 frustated customers with the same predicament. My inlaws both orders steak that was served stone-cold. We would usually never send food back but metnioned it to the waitress who took the food back... only for it to appear 15 minutes later still stone-cold and by which time my huband and I had already finished our meal. The waitress said the manager would come over, which he didn't. "

  • "When my Best Friends mentioned getting together for dinner to celebrate our Birthday's I told them I knew just the place to go. I had been to the Woodberry Kitchen several times and each time left more than pleased. This visit was Awesome!! Our food was great, wine was great and just the ambience was perfect. Our waitress Linda was professional, personable and knowledgeable. We even were surprised at the end when Linda brought a plate with "Happy 49th Birthday" written in chocolate with chocolate ice cream. This made us all feel special and topped off a perfect evening. Thank you!! "

  • "Woodberry Kitchen has a great menu and all of the food is amazing, from inventive snacks to entrees. Their cocktail list includes many house-made syrups, national alcohols and local ingredients that are inventive (and amazing). The only downside is that it is always crowded and reservations usually run 15-20 minutes over, so expect to wait for a table. I made a reservation for a Tuesday night a month in advance and still had to deal with the crowd. The food and atmosphere is definitely worth the wait!"

  • "I'd been to Woodberry Kitchen for drinks on several occasions & had good experiences. Considering how packed this place always is & the many positive reviews (written & verbal), I decided to take my friend here for her birthday. We had brunch on a Saturday. I had the Beau's Breakfast & she had the Cast Iron Pancake. My meal was barely warm, the sausages were not very tasty & there was hardly any lean meat on the bacon; it was a greasy mess! My friend's Cast Iron Pancake was very thick & dense - I didn't even want to try it. Neither of us finished our meal. I would consider going back for drinks, but I would not dine here again. On a positive note, the staff was friendly and remembered my friend's birthday from the reservation."

  • "Was visiting my brother in Baltimore and had wanted to try this place for a while. Food was great, everything was perfectly cooked. Highlights for me were the black sausage and carrot skillet, the rockfish, and the icebox pie. Service was excellent and the space is beautiful. Strongly recommend."

  • "This was our first experience and we loved it. Parking can be tough at times. If you have valet parking, why wouldn't we use this parking area ourselves. No all people like to use the valet parking. other than that,we had a great experience and are looking forward to another meal there soon. Thanks for asking for our opinion."

  • "Woodberry Kitchen is a nestled in a converted mill space off Clipper Parkway in Baltimore. I tried the turtle boy salad, broccoli soup and wood roasted sausages entree . All good dishes. Delivered in a timely manner and served at the perfect temperature (soup and entree). The service is attentive and knowledgeable. The bathrooms need to watched a little more closely so they remain tidy and fresh looking. I'll visit again."

  • "The location is a little off the beaten path. The building is beautiful and unique. Complimentary valet parking makes parking a breeze. The staff is upbeat, pleasant and helpful (You get the impression that they like their job). The food is perfection. Everyone in my party enjoyed their meal."

  • "We don't get to Baltimore often, but on our last trip, one goal was to eat at this restaurant. Not disappointed! It rivals many of the best places in DC without the pretentious staff and high prices. Spike's goal to serve only local food really comes through in the fresh tastes and unusual ingredients on the menu. We both had beef which was organic and delicious, The salads, even in April, tasted just picked. But the most amazing thing was how knowledgeable and friendly the wait staff was. Our server did not hesitate to give us her honest opinion about everything we asked. Very refreshing! No up-selling at all. The tables upstairs have a great view of the action, but go for the porch in the summer. And the fabulous cocktails!"

  • "Definitely a quiet neighborhood gem tucked into yet another historic area of Baltimore. Surrounded by antique, crumbling buildings that hold their own intrigue, Woodberry Kitchen incorporates that intrigue with exposed brick and beams;rustic charm and appeal. The wait staff are all dressed to represent a simpler time in life (think Opie from Mayberry) and are very knowledgeable about both food and drink selections. Our waiter, Matt, was phenomenal with his descriptions of items and recommendations. The noise level is a bit high in the evening/night time so I don't recommend it for an intimate setting but great for a group of 3 or more. Enjoyed fresh fish, potent and creative drinks, divine dessert. Fresh, fun, friendly!"

  • "Woodberry Kitchen is in a lovely building and has a great ambience. I really enjoyed all of the aesthetics of the restaurant, speaking from a female perspective, it's quite romantic :) and feels like you're not in the "shady" Baltimore you probably know all too well. Our wait staff provided great service and the overall dining out experience was excellent. We ordered cider, macaroni and cheese, oyster soup, the liberty tavern steak, the chicken and biscuit, and peach cheesecake. The cider was great and both appetizers were good, but not "wow" good. I thought my steak was great, although a bit pricy at $29 for the portion. The chicken and biscuit was again good, but not $20+ good. In the end, a full course no alcohol meal for two was $120."

  • "We had an excellent waitress and the food was good but our entree's came out very fast while we were still enjoying our appetizers. To make it a bit more challenging some of our entrée's were not hot but lukewarm. This would not deter us from coming back but just a disappointment."

  • "My girlfriend and I went to Baltimore for a romantic evening consisting of dinner and a show. We decided to try Woodberry Kitchen since we'd heard so many great things about it from friends. We had an excellent meal with good food and service. The atmosphere and decor of the restaurant is fabulous. The only hiccup that we encountered was an overcooked steak, but the manager took care of it and still had us out the door in time for our show."

  • "We had heard a lot about Woodberry Kitchen but just hadn't a chance to visit during the past year. We had a great experience on a recent Saturday evening. Everyone at our table had a delicious meal - such attention to detail. The desserts alone are worth the visit. The wait staff was excellent. Woodberry Kitchen is a real gem and we can't wait to return."

  • "Unique for Baltimore is the thought that comes to mind. Other restaurants have tried to replicate its charm and cuisine, but always seem to miss the mark. Good food, good service, and charming ambience never fail to make Woodberry Kitchen a special dining experience."

  • "The food is delicious and comes from local farms in the MD/VA Chesapeake region. The restaurant is in the old clipper mill area of Baltimore and the exposed brick walls look great. The mustard crusted VA fluke fish was outstanding. Perfectly cooked. For a quieter environment, ask to sit in the small dining room off to the side. Service was very good. We will definitely go back and recommend this restaurant to out friends."

  • "The oyster we got was amazing but I cannot imagine that they served as burnt flat bread (like seriously? It's the first time ever in my life that I've rolled my eyes seeing what they placed on our table. We paid a ton for our dinner to literally not able to eat it. The ambience is great for business/romantic dining. Their wine is good even though it's kinda expensive. But I will definitely not come back unless someone invites me."

  • "...and I had very high hopes! Our trip to Baltimore was last minute and we had a few last minute changes to our reservation numbers, all which were accommodated by WK. The place was full of good vibes and the music meshed well. Couldn't have asked for a better server. Thanks to Brad our experience was on a whole new level! Knowledgeable, helpful, considerate, prompt, a true professional to our table. We tried the majority of the menu and I recommend the Charcuterie board, and any house made sausage you can get your hands on. Perfect Moscow Mule. We stayed much past the kitchen closing and we never once felt rushed. So grateful WK took care of us, we are spreading the good word in Roanoke, VA! Cheers WK crew, keep killin' it!"

  • "My husband and I travel from PA to experience the wonderful food and atmosphere at Woodberry Kitchen! There is nothing that compares in our area! We recently brought our young adult children to enjoy all that we had been beaming about; they were not disappointed. We tried a wide variety of fresh menu selections and to our waiters delight there was not a crumb or morsel left on any of our plates! The wine, cocktail and beer selections are perfectly matched to the ever changing and delicious main fare. We try to make Woodberry Kitchen a once a month happening in our lives. We highly recommend booking your reservations well in advance-just mark it on your calendar and count down the days to having a fantastic dining experience!"
