Woodberry KitchenConsistent GreatnessWe frequent other restaurants, but after a meal at Woodberry Kitchen, we realize, it really is the best in town. We asked the waitress about every dish on the menu, which she described in such elegant detail as if she, herself, created the food. The service is exceptional across the board. The drinks are made so expertly. We recommend one of the flatbreads to share. They often change, and you may wonder how all the parts will fit together, but you have to trust they will. I had a vegan rice cake which was delicious. Save room for dessert -- all made I house -- particularly the CMP. Fantastic experience.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious!Def. our favorite spot in Baltimore. We never have a bad experience. Braised beef was delicious! Although the kitchen sink dessert was recommended, and it was great, CNP still tops!6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat! As alwaysThis is a must when I have friends visiting from out of town. Reservations are near impossible for the weekend without at least a two-weeks notice. That is a testament to how wonderful this place is.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat a great place! I tookWhat a great place! I took my husband there for his birthday, our waiter Patrick made us feel like we were the only people in the restaurant! He was very knowledgeable about all the dishes on the menu, and assisted us with some great selections! I cannot wait to return!6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMTucked away nearby Druid Hill ParkWK, opened in the footprint of one of Baltimore's old textile mills, fronts a small complex of galleries and small businesses, steps away from the Woodberry Light Rail stop or off the I-83, minutes from downtown. The service was attentive. Our waitstaff knew the menu and cocktails to the finest details. The menu changes frequently (daily according to our server). We had a number of small plates, including a rich but not heavy rockfish chowder, a light well-flavored beet tartare, and popcorn! The pork shoulder was fork-tender and served with well -crisped rind. There were a number of rich sorbets, and we had a "chocolate-covered strawberry" which actually was a flourless chocolate cake. Well-deserving of its accolades!6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat night outHave been trying to get there for over a year-last summer there was no availability, on any day of the week , between 5-9 for months! Finally got there for my birthday (actually 2 days before, because everything else was booked). The bar is wonderful! Great energy and helpful bartenders led us to creative and delicious cocktails. Dinner was very nice-the soft crab was perfect and the appetizer flatbread(chard, ricotta, basil garlic cream) very good with a nice char and good chew to the bread. The whole meal was fresh, local and just well thought out. Note of warning-it is very loud in the main room-not sure if the side dining room would be better for conversation.6/12/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent Food in a Great SettingQuality of food and service in a relaxed setting hard to beat. Exquisite flavors. Plenty for vegetarians on "meatless Mondays." Knowledgeable and dedicate wait staff.6/10/2013 12:00:00 AMFarm to TableLocal, seasonal fare well prepared. Celebrated my husband's birthday with family, everyone pleased with their selections.6/10/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time eating at the WoodberryFirst time eating at the Woodberry Kitchen. Two of our adult children and their spouses had told us about it and felt that it was the best restaurant in Baltimore! We used a gift certificate from them to celebrate our 40th Anniversary and were not disappointed. The food was outstanding, both in its flavor and its presentation. Excellent evening in every aspect . . . service, food. ambiance, etc. I am sure that we will be back!6/10/2013 12:00:00 AMA great place for a birthdayWe had a lovely meal, as always. Service was stellar, food was perfect, and the Happy Birthday message on my dessert dish was very appreciated. Thanks for always making it special!6/10/2013 12:00:00 AMthe food, service, and overallthe food, service, and overall ambience was fabulous. I loved it. My husband and daughter had the breakfast flabread and I had the pan-cake. We shared and they were great. The pan-cake was so unusual. We had so much food, we took half home with us and heated it up for breakfast the next day.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMINCREDIBLE!This was my first time at Woodberry Kitchen and I will definitely be back. The food was incredible and unique, the outdoor patio was great, and the service was attentive and super friendly. Good job Woodberry Kitchen!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMBetter than everGot a last minute reservation on a Saturday night on Open Table. Unheard of. I was served the tilefish, which looked a little small, but delicious. As the waitress had specifically said the fish would be a 6 oz. serving, I joked to my husband that it looked more like 4 ozs., but enough for me. Within a minute or two, Jake came up and let me know that the kitchen caught a glimpse of my fish and thought it wasn't the proper size and they would be bringing me another piece, which they did, piping hot and delicious. I couldn't believe it.
Very impressed and loved all of the fresh, creative options and refreshing cocktails. Thanks!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic BrunchWe sat outside. Not sure what the noise level is like inside. Had a strawberry salad, followed by gold potato hash browns with asparagus and eggs. It was rich and delicious. If you like gin, try the Henley cocktail.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMVery GoodLived up to our expectations. The crab pot is out of this world. Try it. It's like no other crab dip you've ever had. It was raining when we were there so I can't comment on the outdoor seating, but it looked like it would be nice. The whole experience was great from the valet to the dessert. Would love to come back. Just have to remember to make the reservation a few months in advance.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat mealWe dine at Woodberry about once a month. It's always good. This night was particularly good. It's usually too crowded to get a table without a reservation, but we had reservations this night. And with the opening of outdoor seating, the inside was less crowded, so a table or two was free. We can always get seats at the bar and we enjoy watching the bartenders make all the exotic concoctions.
We tend to stick with the less adventurous menu selections and we've never gone wrong. Our party had crab cakes, meatloaf and chicken. All were superb, cooked to perfection, flavorful, beautifully presented and accompanied by tasty veggies. I'm gluten free so I had a whole menu from which to choose! Outstanding.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent special occasion dinnerWe had a perfect dinner outside on a beautiful evening. Had the popcorn and cheese appetizer which were a perfect beginning. Cocktails were different and delicious. Waitress was very helpful in describing all dishes. Impressed with how fresh and hand made ever item was, even the crackers with the cheese. Main dishes were wonderful - meatloaf, chicken and biscuit, pork loin and rockfish. Portions were fairly small and glad we got the appetizers. We also got dessert 2 sundaes to share which brought the Mel to a delightful end. The only drawback was the cost although expected. Would go back but only for really special occasions.6/4/2013 12:00:00 AMReally enjoyed the menu selectionsReally enjoyed the menu selections and committment to use of locally grown ingredients. Will definitely visit again soon to try more of the menu.6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing! The food, service and ambiance were awesome! This is the best dining experience my wife and I have had in the last two years!6/3/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent brunchMy husband and I had brunch here last weekend and it was amazing, as always. We opted to sit outside despite the heat and it was a lovely experience. My only complaint, and it isn't really a complaint at all, is that I wish they had a few more light options. Since it was really hot I was craving something airy. I got the frittata, which fit the bill for the most part anyway!6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat with familiesWoodberry Kitchen has always been wonderful when we bring our toddler. They also provide crayons, a special placemat and play-doh to keep the little ones occupied. Additionally, the noise level is high enough that our little one's chattering won't bother other customers. The kids menu is also great for all types of food preferences.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMOnce again a solid and enjoyableOnce again a solid and enjoyable experience with outstanding service and delicious food.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat overallI had a wonderful cocktail, all the food was delicious and well prepared. Dishes were reasonably priced, wine was a bit pricey. Atmosphere was on the noisy side of energetic, but my wife and I were still able to enjoy conversation. The restaurant is set in a very interesting restored old brick mill. Service was good. We were very happy overall.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AM2nd time at WooberryThis was my 2nd time at Woodberry and I enjoyed it as much as the first time. We had a party of 5 and loved our food and the drinks. Get the government mule! It is so good! Our waiter knew the menu very well and it was helpful to have his input.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMalways wonderful!!!Woodberry Kitchen is still one of the best restaurants in town. It is a simple, rustic looking place, but the food is always outstanding. No wonder it is so hard to get a reservation here, any day of the week. The chefs here know how to do magic with simple, local and sustainable ingredients, and transform them into dishes that are flavorful and just...amazing!
Can't wait to go back!!!5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWoodberry KitchenThe food was awesome, the cocktails were awesome, and the ambience was awesome. I couldn't try everything, but I was thrilled with everything I ordered.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMWorth the trip!Cool, down home atmosphere. Impeccable attentive service. Have the charcuterie, everything is locally sourced and treated with care. I tried three different fish preparations, all were amazing. They get everything right from service to cocktails to entrees. It's a must go if you're in the area.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat for people with foodGreat for people with food allergies. Menu items are obtained from local farmers to ensure quality and freshness. A lot of places tell you the food is locally grown but if you have allergies you will know every time. We've never had a problem at Woodberry Kitchen.5/30/2013 12:00:00 AMOyster stew and fried softOyster stew and fried soft shell crab were flavorful and delicious. The pea shoots in Tilefish dish were uneatable. Spring Start custard was excellent!5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWoodberry Kitchen always a treat!Dinner or brunch at Woodberry Kitchen is always a treat--starting with the friendly valet service to the hostesses to the servers to the food--the entire "package" is absolutely wonderful! I always eagerly anticipate our dining experience at Woodberry!5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMthe menu changes with thethe menu changes with the seasons and never fails to impress. The food is sophisticated and never overly fussy. The waiters and waitresses are knowledgeable and helpful. I love their cocktails.5/27/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful Sunday Brunch Outside !!!On Sunday 5/26 we enjoyed another wonderful local meal. It was a perfect morning for outdoor dining.
Our server was helpful & happy!
It is difficult for my Mom to navigate steps, but the staff has always been patient & accommodating.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat mealWoodberry Kitchen is consistently great! Missed the foie gras on the menu this time - best ever, but understand the menu changes with the seasons. Scallops perfectly prepared. Overall a great meal, great evening.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst time fanaticWe've been to Woodberry many times and always have the best experience! We had never been to brunch and it was absolutely delicious and stunning!! I always enjoy dinner but brunch was incredible!!5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMLived up to my ExpectationsI had heard so much about Woodberry Kitchen from my co-workers and so I decided to bring my boyfriend and his mother there for their birthday's. This was a great choice; the food wasn't also excellent but so was the atmosphere...it was like visual eye candy. We actually saw a couple that had gotten married across the street and them and their wedding guests (8 people in total) had there wedding dinner/reception there. It was exciting for the whole restuarant when the waiter walked out with the wedding cake and presented it to the bride and groom. I would highly recommend this place.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently OutstandingWe've gone for brunch twice now. Best brunch in Baltimore, you just have to have the patience to plan it in advance since it's hard to get a reservation. We can never resist getting dessert with brunch too, which is pretty much obscene. Woodberry is that good though.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderfulWe had a wonderful dining experience!! Food was delicious and ambiance excellent.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMA special celebrationWoodberry was the perfect place to celebrate. The immediate area is idyllic. The food is incredible. And the server was clearly in love with his job. My family stayed and ate course after delicious course for nearly three hours. I never wanted to leave!5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMYou simply must try this restaurantA fantastic experience all around. From the moment you pull your car up to the complementary valet, you are treated well and are made to feel like they've been expecting you and are just so happy you've made it. The same sentiment comes across in the food and obvious care taken with its preparation.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMSuperb experience all around.Superb experience all around. Great venue for special celebration. Food was first rate and you can watch it all coming together in a masterful consumable "symphony."5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMMy second time visiting WKI have dined here once before and it was outstanding then as well. This time I went back to take my husband to celebrate our anniversary over brunch. The food was without compare. SO amazing, my husband said "this is the best food I ever ate" and i agree. The quality of the food, the delicious way they take comforting food and elevate it and add interesting twists is beyond. We also had amazing service from friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive staff. The hostess wished us happy anniversary and at the end of our meal the kitchen brought out a lovely plate with happy anniversary written in chocolate and cup of chocolate sorbet with shortbread cookie <3
I wish i lived closer so i could eat there more! This trip was perfect! Thanks WK.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMSecond AnniversaryI made reservations about 3 months in advance for my Fiance and I's two year anniversary as she'd been wanting to check Woodberry out for quite some time. Needless to say she decided that ALL Anniversaries going forward should be celebrated there.
This place was INCREDIBLE, from the wait staff to to the dessert! We both enjoyed a cocktail from their signature selection and neither of us were dissapointed. We split an appetizer and couldn't resist going in for an order of the ladyfinger popcorn as well.
I cannot say anything bad about our night, it was amazing and we will definitely be headed back in the near future!
Thanks to all at Woodberry Kitchen for an amazing anniversary dinner with my Fiance.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic! Some of the best food, great portions for the prices, phenomenal cocktails. All around great place.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AManother lovely meal at WKnever disappointed with a meal shared here but especially sweet al fresca5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMWoodberry Kitchen1st time at the restaurant, the food was outstanding and the service was also. A very nice ambiance. The only criticism we had was the after the excellent food, great wine and outstanding service our expressos were borderline terrible.. but all in all it is a great place and we are hoping we just got a bad batch. Still plan on going back when we get the chance.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMWhat Took Us So Long?We have known about Woodberry Kitchen for several years. Why it took us so long to go is beyond me.
The food is rather hard to explain without experiencing. EX- An appetizer of "Ramps on Toast" is a whole lot better than a menu or individual can describe. Most, if not all, food is sourced from The Chesapeake Region, which is an added bonus.
This is one of the few establishments which is rather pricey, but worth every penny. We will be returning very soon.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMGood timesI will be back everything was great my top 3 easy great food and the cocktails are serious5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst timer. We are middle age couple who have traveled well and have been to the best restaurants in world. This holds up to the best we have been to in terms of ambience, food quality and service. Delightful with great friends to enjoy with. We would recommend to any age group even though we were, admittedly, among the older age group. A definite go to for us!5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMFlawless service, perfect eveningThe food was excellent. Eating the oysters was like hearing The Beatles for the first time.
The service, however, overshadowed the fine food and beautiful setting. I'm a lifetime bartender. I notice everything in a restaurant. Now that I'm a father, the one thing that truly matters is how the staff treats my children. My 5-year-old daughter felt like the only person in the room. Everyone she met remembered her name and commented on her pretty dress.
From the thoughtful kids menu to the homemade Play-Doh to the seemingly effortless attention to our needs, The Woodberry Kitchen created the best dining experience I've ever had with my kid.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMgreat birthday dinnerMy husband took me here for my birthday dinner! it was out second time and it was delicious! the waiter was great and we loved everything we ordered! we will back back and def. would recommend to friends!5/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
