My daughter and I both enjoyed our meals, she had a hamburger and I had the chicken & pork enchilada for brunch. The latter serving was tasty, not as spicy as a traditional enchilada( such as we are used to in California); the serving a bit on the small side. We particularly enjoyed the desserts, the ice cream and butterscotch pudding was delicious. We would definitely go back. Our server was attentive, our table was ready at the appointed time. It is rather noisy in the kitchen section due to the acoustics and music.

We visited on a Saturday night and arrived early (no other reservations available). The restaurant quickly filled up. The toughest part of the night was choosing from all the options on the menu. We ended up with chips and onion dip, croque monsieur flat bread, wood-fired oysters, pumpkin soup and beet salads for appetizers. For our entrees we had the braised beef and steak, as well as the steak tartare. It is impossible to say which is best, but my daughter's favorite was - as always - the CMP dessert. We will be returning soon - already made a reservation.

  • Great place to eat late

We enjoy having dinner late -- after a concert or play or movie -- but most Baltimore restaurants empty out by 10 pm or shift to a limited light-fare menu. At Woodberry on a Saturday night, it was so crowded at 10 pm that it was hard to get seated! Plus the kitchen continues to pump out the full menu. In fact, we prefer coming to Woodberry late, when the crowds begin to ebb and the noise level dies down a bit; it provides for a more mellow experience.

Overall a very nice experience. The food, as always, was excellent and the service staff attentive and knowledgeable. This was not from my first visit to Woodberry but the little things got in the way of an overall enjoyable experience. Heat that wasn't working for half the meal, wine lists printed on one side (serving Reds only?) and a frustrating gift card policy. I expect that it was just a bad luck night but I'll be watching on my next visit....

I took my wife to Woodberry Kitchen for her birthday. The moment we pulled up I could tell we were in for a treat. The ambiance is fantastic, very rustic and comfortable. We were seated by the window so we saw the night life as we ate. The wood tables and gingham napkins look like they're from a cabin somewhere off the beaten path. The service was excellent, the drinks were cheerful, and the food was top notch! Try the Mac and cheese or one of the flat breads for an appetizer! We ordered dessert (butterscotch pudding!!) and when it came out they had written "Happy Birthday" in chocolate on the plate and included a candle. What a nice gesture! Before you say "everyone does that" - what made this special is that I didn't ask for it. I mentioned it was my wife's birthday when I made the reservation but that was the extent of it. Top notch customer service! After all was said and done and we were waiting for our car, they had a number of chiminea wood burners outside to keep us warm. Top marks all around. Thanks Woodberry Kitchen!

This was a fantastic experience. We were nearby for a conference and I had the idea that maybe we could get a table. I live about 45 minutes away so tables usually are booked by the time we can get here. God was I happy I checked. We had an amazing meal! It was hands-down the best steak I have ever had! But first, we had some oysters. Completely amazing. then we split the oyster stew which was creamy and silky. Next we had the cheeseboard and finished with a meal. You s, a lot of food, but when food is as delicious as what we encountered you go for broke. What talented Chefs. I travel a lot and this place is hands down one of my all time favorites. Thank you so much for delivering the meal I had been searching for for so long!

  • A Baltimore Must
    OpenTable Diner Since 2013
    Dined on 11/19/2014
You know a certain restaurant is good when they put effort into little details like ensuring that the complimentary bread and butter you have is the best you've ever tried. This Baltimore staple was definitely everything I expected. Trying for months to make a reservation and then finally getting one at an appropriate hour, my expectations were high. Their mac and cheese is just as good as all of the reviews suggest. I wasn't blown away by their Chicken and biscuits or their cider-y, apple-filled cocktails, but I guess that's a just the product of a fall-inspired menu. The clams and noodles my boyfriend ordered were divine as were the beet-pickled eggs. Overall, this place was awesome. I would not only go again, but I would recommend to anyone looking for a fancy (sans being pretentious) evening with great ambience.

This restaurant is a really special place, The dishes are a wonderful variety of local vegetables, mid -atlantic catches (oysters too) and meats. Cool rustic warehouse surroundings and a wood stove crackling outside the open kitchen. Nice variety of international and local wines too. Service was adequate, but seemed to be overstretched and under experienced. Highly recommend the WK.

They were out of ginger beer, and they got my drink wrong every time. Food quality was ok, but they didn't have any of the gamey dishes they are known for like duck or rabbit. Service was very slow and they kept taking my plate before I was done. Nice ambience but extremely overpriced. Won't be going back any time soon.

I frequent Woodberry Kitchen as much as I can. WHY? Because I have never had a meal there that was not delicious. They are consistently great. Food is fresh, seasoned, cooked to perfection. Drinks are refreshing and service is impeccable. Then there are the desserts. Yummy! my friend and I shared the apple cobbler. It came out in this little cast iron pot, piping hot with the ice cream melting over it. Just the way I wanted to end my night. Lastly, I must mention the vegetable pot pie my friend had. It was amazing. I need that recipe.

I brought my fiance here for a birthday supper because we were on our way back to NY from DC. She loves Woodberry and tonight was no exception. We sat upstairs overlooking the Kitchen....our favorite vantage point in the Kitchen and less ambient noise upstairs. She is gluten free and Woodberry has an entire menu dedicated to gluten free guests. I am not gluten free but the food on her menu peaked my interest and we both ordered from it. Great food all around! We also samples all 6 ciders on tap....great experience! All plates were carefully labeled gluten free as they were brought to our table so there is that added piece of mind. We can't wait to come back!

Overpriced food. Tasted not too bad but portions are so small. My husband ordered a farm trout - it was horrible - a little burned piece of trout tail with no md crab stuffing as it says on a menu. We asked for a piece of lemon or lime for the water - got "no" answer... So noisy place! Did not like it. :(

My favorite place for Brunch in Baltimore is Woodberry Kitchen. I always thouhgt of it for dinner, but once I tried brunch I was totally hooked. Start with a maple latte then share in the bakery board goodies - this week there was a wholewheat maple donut, sourcream coffeecake, savory biscuit, chcoloate bran muffin and a flaky elephant ear type pastry - plenty to share for 3. The omletes were light and fluffy and the corned beef hash a tasty mix of slightly burnt ends of corned beef, roasted peppers and scallions, and potatoes - like no other. Ask for a table near the brick oven so you can see all the beautifully presented dishes that you didn't order this time. You can scope out something for your next visit. Servers attentive and welcoming, know their food.

Once again, a wonderful experience for my wife and I at this gem. We started with cocktails, followed by Deviled Eggs as a snack, a shared bowl of the Pumpkin Bisque and the Lamb Sausage. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the scallops and I would recommend trout stuffed with crab imperial. It was a wrap with the espresso float paired with salted caramel ice cream. Another fantastic meal - but you really have to be in the environment to appreciate the attention to detail and the high level of service which is a staple at this fantastic restaurant. I took my mother and her friends for one of the lady's birthday celebration. They were a little confused about what to order because they found the explanation of the menu complicated but they enjoyed all of the food they ordered. Our waitress brought a beautiful plate with Happy Birthday written on it in chocolate and it had a delicious cupcake and candle on it. My meal was not ready when the rest of the food came so the manager came and apologized and offered me a glass of wine. I appreciated the gesture.

The staff even wrote happy anniversary on our dessert plate. Wish it was easier to get a reservation...but they are obviously doing many things right. At a time when everyone says they are "farm to table" Woodberry is one of the few in Baltimore I think is actually doing it. Will definitely be back again.
