Beautiful location. Truly a neighborhood gem. We made reservations and got seated about 15mns later. The food is really good. The service was initially fast, but unfortunately it took forever for them to serve the main dish. The couples next to us who arrived later than us got served before we did and we were the last ones to finish. That was extremely disappointing.

I love the Woodberry Kitchen! I flew from New Hampshire to have a weekend with my daughter, and that HAD to include dinner at the Woodberry Kitchen, our favorite place for dinner. The food was very good, but the menu wasn't as interesting as usual. The wine was superb and the service was great, as always. But the desserts were less than inspiring--no chocolate bakes anything! I would come again, but I hope the menu gets infused with some new energy!

  • Waited so long

The long wait it over. We've tried to have a special dinner for months at Woodberry Kitchen and finally made it for my wife's birthday. The food is excellent, the wine (Black Ankle) was excellent,.Perhaps it was where we were seated, first floor, close to the kitchen and staircase, but I felt I was in the hub of chaos with waiters and waitresses scurrying by every few moments. This sounds odd, because no one likes a restaurant with slow service, but it almost felt like there were too many servers. Again, I think it was our seating location - which the owners may want to rethink about the tables and workflow for the wait staff in that specific area. Will go back, but will request upstairs.

We really enjoyed our meal. Fresh fruit, peach cake, sausage and potato flat bread, fried chicken and biscuit and ham sandwich on ciabatta. There was a problem with the way one of the items was cooked, but the problem was quickly rectified. Excellent service, in one of the most beautiful buildings I have ever seen on the East Coast! Can't wait to go back!

I've never had a bad experience at Woodberry Kitchen! The food is amazing! I brought two friends from out of town to have brunch there and they were very satisfied. One of them took pictures to be inspired when decorating her new home. The only con was we were right in the middle of multiple families of small (loud) children. Would have been nice to have more of a grown up atmosphere when catching up with girlfriends.

We had another great meal at Woodberry. The summer corn soup with a bit of crab in it and scallion oil was silky and so full of fresh corn flavor. My husband had the ribeye cooked a "true rare" (for rare meat aficionados). The Chesapeake seafood platter was well done, always love soft shelled crabs, sauteed and not oily at all. The noise level is pretty loud- we were in the side room, not the main room. We asked them to turn the music down but conversations at adjoining tables also seemed quite loud. Be sure to reserve well in advance to get the day/time you prefer if going on a weekend.

There isn't much you can't say about Woodberry Kitchen. Top to bottom, one of the best restaurants that I have been to in some time, anywhere. Bar staff was friendly and the drinks were great. Outdoor patio area was great for our pre-dinner cocktail. Dining room and outdoor patio were beautiful. Service was impeccable from start to finish. They made our anniversary unique and enjoyable!!! Oh, and don't forget the food!!!!!! The best pork belly appetizer I've had and an amazing fish entree with fried hominy and a tomato based sauce, impeccable. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a great experience in Baltimore!

This was my 4th dinner at Woodberry Kitchen, and it was as excellent as I had experienced before. The staff is very friendly and professional. Great bar tender (wonderful cocktails), the food was awesome (the dessert was not exceptional though, a kind of chocolate "hard mousse", pretty heavy and not too tasty), the restaurant looks fabulous. We loved the music too! I definitely recommend Woodberry Kitchen. It's well worth the drive or cab ride!

We had a wonderful experience, overall. The food was absolutely delicious. Being first timers, the menu was a little overwhelming with all the choices and categories; but we appreciated the fresh ingredients. The only negative is the restaurant was rather cozy, in that, the tables were small and close together.

Woodberry Kitchen is utterly charming to look at and certainly has its food heart in the right place. But I continue to have all the same reservations I've had on previous occasions. On a Saturday night, it was painfully noisy. We sat near the wood burning stove, close enough--tables are crammed together--for one of us to be distinctly uncomfortable. Another of us had to clutch at her knife to keep buttering her bread when the waiter decided it was time to remove the dull cutlery in anticipation of our entrees. Waiters bumped the table as they hustled around. I am not a fan of lengthy food narratives that mimic satiric sketches on "Portlandia."

Our recent dinner at Woodbury was pretty awesome. We are a foodie family and were celebrating my son's recent MBA graduation. It was a warm lovely evening, and we were seated outside. The meal began with cocktails (I am not a bourbon lover, but did enjoy my son's Whole Hog ), then went onto appetizers, with the eggplant dip winning that round. All of our entrees were delicious, but the one we felt knocked us over, was the Marvesta Shrimp and Grits. As for dessert, the winner was the delicious CMP which we all shared...heavenly. The only disappointment was our wine selection. An expensive Chardonnay, it was weak, weak. It very well could of been just our selection, but at that price it certainly should of been stellar.

On our first visit a couple of weeks ago we were seated on the upper gallery, which was quiet, airy, private; this time we were seated directly in front of the wood fired oven and the waiters' station for pick-up; it was extremely noisy, hot, and hectic. The cocktail menu had changed quite a bit, and the four of us all enjoyed our excellent drinks. The food was nothing special--my wife and I started with flatbreads that were so-so; her soft-shell crabs were excellent; my roasted vegetables were not. Her dessert (benne tart) had an inedible crust and a boring filling. My affogato was OK. All in all, we don't expect to return soon--perhaps in an altogether different season, to see what they do with what's local and fresh.

My husband and I went to Woodberry for the first time maybe 2 or 3 years ago but weren't blown away by the experience, considering the cost. So we didn't bother going back despite all our friends' "Ooh"s and "Aaaah"s. This week we decided to give it a shot again, and now we both finally understand what all the hype is about! We had two small plates to start, followed by salad, and I had the peachy pork dish (Amazing!) and my hubs had the scallops (the best he's ever had). Finished it off with dessert, and we were both very satisfied little piglets when we left. Everything was perfect. The restaurant was packed but our food still came out quickly and our server had a great sense of humor. Will go again for a special occasion meal.

Location, architecture, ambiance all make this locally-sourced venue special. Stick with the fish, but don't expect lemon--not local. Scallops were outstanding, as were starters and veggie small plates. Waitress most adorable, enthusiastic and cooperative ever. Woodberry Kitchen has a wonderful cocktail menu. Handcrafted drinks had cute names and interesting ingredients. I chose a bottle of wine that was very, very, very good (Loveblock). Our service was outstanding. I especially liked the atmosphere. The old mill vibe with the reclaimed wood and brick everywhere and emphasis on fresh local (farm to table) food charmed me. The room we were seated in had really great natural light and I was able to get some good photographs of both food and people. I especially liked some of the salads we ordered as appetizers. I would say these outshone the entrees. The deviled eggs contained some special spice that made them truly an experience. The crab salad tasted sweet and fresh.

We tried Woodberry for a Sunday Brunch and loved it. Service was excellent, the food was delicious - and there is an interesting variety of things you can get for brunch. My husband said it's "true brunch" in that they mix items for breakfast and lunch in a single meal, rather than just having separate breakfast items and lunch type items available. Also, the Watermelon Mimosa was delicious!

We heard so many great things about Woodberry Kitchen, we felt we just had to try it. Figuring brunch would be a good introduction to the restaurant, we decided to go at the last minute. To put it kindly, it was beyond disappointing. While the service was great and the people were nice, the food was bland and mediocre. It definitely wasn't worth the $50 for the two of us. Consequently, we won't be returning.

Kidfriendly and kids enjoyed the crayons and dough. We ordered the flatbread and it was delicious but was a little chewier than crisp.I want chewy pizza andcrisp flatbread.I ordered the enchiladas. Also good but the chorizo made them oily.My children ordered pancakes only to find out they were out.Um,how do you run out of pancakes? This meant they decided they didn't want to make any more, although they were still on the menu. Not cool. They were also out of doughnuts. Our waiter said,I think I saw one more doughnut BACK THERE.Kids ended up getting grilled cheese and potatoes.Good, but how do you mess up grilled cheese?Overall,I was really disappointed. We drove a long way and spent a lot of $to eat breakfast and grilled cheese.Blah.Not going back.
