The food was delectable!! My only "complaint" is that we didn't get seating in the main dining room. That's where all of the energy and ambience was. Our room was dark & quiet and somewhat sheltered from the others.

one of the VERY best restaurants in the region...I knew it was an excellent place but it surpassed my expectations...each of the four of us selected a different appetizer and main dish and we all thought the food was fantastic...the service was outstanding...we have been to so many restaurants and this is one that will remain vividly in my mind

As usual Woodberry delivers with excellent food. My only complaint is sometimes it can take awhile to get your food. Unfortunately, on this visit we had to wait over an hour for our food to come. Although it took over an hour the food was great. I do commend the manager for coming over and apologizing and providing us with complimentary fruit.

We tried Woodberry for a Sunday Brunch and loved it. Service was excellent, the food was delicious - and there is an interesting variety of things you can get for brunch. My husband said it's "true brunch" in that they mix items for breakfast and lunch in a single meal, rather than just having separate breakfast items and lunch type items available. Also, the Watermelon Mimosa was delicious!

My braised beef was dry and flavorless. My wife's fluke was also dry and the sauce was unappealing. Our appetizers were great: crab pot, and tomatoes on gluten-free toast. Drinks also were good. But the entrees left us unexcited. It'll be a while till we return.

We heard so many great things about Woodberry Kitchen, we felt we just had to try it. Figuring brunch would be a good introduction to the restaurant, we decided to go at the last minute. To put it kindly, it was beyond disappointing. While the service was great and the people were nice, the food was bland and mediocre. It definitely wasn't worth the $50 for the two of us. Consequently, we won't be returning.

  • How do you run out of pancakes??

Kidfriendly and kids enjoyed the crayons and dough. We ordered the flatbread and it was delicious but was a little chewier than crisp.I want chewy pizza andcrisp flatbread.I ordered the enchiladas. Also good but the chorizo made them oily.My children ordered pancakes only to find out they were out.Um,how do you run out of pancakes? This meant they decided they didn't want to make any more, although they were still on the menu. Not cool. They were also out of doughnuts. Our waiter said,I think I saw one more doughnut BACK THERE.Kids ended up getting grilled cheese and potatoes.Good, but how do you mess up grilled cheese?Overall,I was really disappointed. We drove a long way and spent a lot of $to eat breakfast and grilled cheese.Blah.Not going back.

We went to Woodberry after having not been there in awhile. By and large we enjoyed our meals, but my crab cake could have been cooked a little more. Just wasn't that warm. The one thing that we all said that was a little too much was the absence of any limes or lemons for out drinks. They say they only source local ingredients but why do they have European and California wines? I mean buy organic if you can't buy local. Who cares? Especially for a drink. Who's had a gin and tonic without a lime? For us it's a little too over the top and they need to get over themselves. Food is great but the bar is very mediocre in my opinion.

Very upscale place and top 100 in DC. I was a bit disappointed that the fluke and crab main I ordered was a little on the salty side. However, when I did mention it to the waitress, they did offer a dessert on the house. Just don't expect too much salt in a great restaurant so i would rate them very good but not great.

We were visiting in Baltimore and Wooderry Kitchen was highly recommended. As we drove to the restaurant, the neighborhood was really rough and we thought we were lost - but it turned out to be a very cute little enclave and the atmosphere was fabulous! All of the employees were really nice and eager to serve. We loved the outdoor s'mores had fun making them. Our only complaint was that our entrees were cold. I may still give this restaurant another visit next time I'm in town.

I have dined at Woodberry Kitchen on seven or eight occasions, which alone summarizes my opinion of the experience. I admire the mission of utilizing quality locally-sourced ingredients, often inspired by Maryland/ Chesapeake Bay food ways, and in-house preparation of essentially everything that arrives on one's plate. The results do vary, of course, but the range is from fairly good to excellent, with most meals leaning toward the latter. The setting is great and service is consistently solid. Moreover the staff convincingly demonstrate concern for the experience of the patron. As a vegetarian, I miss much of what Woodberry has to offer but I never feel entirely left out. Vegetarian options could be improved, however.

The food is incredible. A must try is the mac and cheese, make sure to let the food in cast iron skillets cool before eating to get all of the true flavors from the dish. Drinks can be pricey but the quality and craftsmanship is the reason why!

From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the beautiful blend of rustic and modern touches, as well as the friendly and attentive service. The waiter's knowlege, enthusiasm and attentiveness; the meal which was excellent from start to finish, the pleasant outdoor seating and even the unusual, tucked-away location all added up to a fantastic experience. Had a dinner reservation for my wife and daughter's birthdays. We ate outside, which was MUCH quieter than inside. The service was great, the waiter/waitress team was very knowledgeable about the dishes. Food was great, although a steak that my wife ordered was cooked more than she ordered. Once we brought that to the waiter's attention, they bent over backwards to make it right. They also provided small cakes for my wife and daughter on plates with a personalized Happy Birthday wish. This place really gets it right!

  • Third and Last Visit
    Disappointing
    Dined on 8/24/2014
My first visit was great and set my expectations for future visits. Sadly none of the later visits lived up to the first. As far as food, I ordered the Ribeye (medium rare) - a $45 steak. It was the toughest cut of meat I've ever had - so disappointing. This meal did not live up to the hype or even the cost. I've always been seated in the main dining room. The noise level is terrible. I don't know if that's by design, but the tables are so close together, I was literally physically closer to the person beside me at the next table than I was with the person across from me with whom I was dining. So I had no problem hearing the conversation of others but had to strain to hear my dining partner. I won't be going back.

Went on a Sunday night to celebrate a birthday. We were seated upstairs at a table so small and so close to adjacent tables there was zero privacy. It was a beautiful Sunday evening however upstairs it was noisy and stuffy. There was no room on our tiny table for an ice bucket for our bottle of wine. I had to ask our distracted waitress to bring an ice bucket after our dinner plates were cleared. We sat looking at our lovely dinners for about 5 minutes because our waitress had forgotten to replace our flatware and could not be flagged down. The food was very good, lived up to our expectations. They need fewer tables in the upstairs area, we now know to specify not to be seated up there and we were very disappointed with our server.

All the food was delicious, especially the Mac and Cheese. We had a bit of a snafu with our server - we order two appetizers and two "small plates." The appetizers came out at the same time, but the server had assumed that we would also be sharing our small plates so she delivered one, and then it was quite a while before the second was delivered, and since my friend and I weren't sharing that, it took much later than desired for that second plate. Would have been nice for her to confirm how/when to bring those out.

The cantaloupe and deviled egg appetizers, blt flatbread, the cheese tray to die for. We went for the braised beef and ribeye for our meals and split the CMP for dessert. In my last review of Woodberry I was a bit less than glowing because of a long wait time and a couple menu items that fell short of expectations. This dining experience made up for that and then some! Everything was EXCEPTIONAL - the outdoor atmosphere, the food, the drinks, and the service. I could not have been more pleased and the same goes for the other six people in my party. And I have to give Woodberry kudos because they remembered my concerns and went out of the way to address them. A total class act.
