  • "Surely it's got to be the all round experience? The food at Wolfgang's is undoubtedly outstanding; it's a shame about the superior, condescending attitude of their waiting staff. The menu could do with having explanations of what each dish was. And beware of portions! The sides we had would have comfortably fed a family of four! Would I go back? Possibly, but only when my self esteem has recovered and I'm ready to battle for the food I really want to eat rather than what I'm told I (don't) need. Money is no object when you have had a great night but I truly begrudged every $ we spent."

  • "This was my boyfriends birthdaygift, we're from Germany and spent our vacation in NY. After I've seen something on tv about this Restaurant, and was really excited about that. I already made two weeks before we arrived the reservation,which didn't matter anyway. That didn't even check, they just gave us a table somewhere inbetween, next to the bar. The food was just disappoiting, the portions were really big, but the meet was burned and tasted like a normal burned Steak which you could get everywhere. The whloe mesl was just dropped on the plates and didn't even look nice. I paid for a dinner for two ,180 Dollars. I wish we would have spent it for Mc Donalds...."

  • "As steakhouses go you will not do better than Wolfgang's. The steak are top quality, done correctly. In dozens and dozens of meals there I have never had a bad one. The appetizers and sides are traditional steak house standards, but again all first rate. The waiters are knowledgeable and attentive. Be prepared for a big tab, but it's well worth it. Also a very good lunch bet. Same good quality and they have some items not on the dinner menu--lobster salad, burgers. It's a bit more modest in pricing and it's pretty quiet so you can have a serious conversation with your table mates."

  • "The food was fantastic, just like our local Wolfgangs on Park Ave. South. The waiter was patient with our group of 4, who are all pretty hard of hearing and changed our minds a bit too much after the first drink. I most appreciate his patience and help. The food, as always, was delectable. The steak truly is like butter. Even so, the hot fudge sundae is still my favorite part of the meal. The only time I eat whipped cream is at Wolfgangs."

  • "I had heard good things about the restaurant, and was excited to try it. The food was fine, not great, though: for example, the steak was under-seasoned. But the biggest complaint I had was the service. We were never asked during our meal if we needed anything (we did), and we were served an entire dinner so quickly, we felt like they couldn't wait to turn our table. We had a cocktail, appetizers and an entree, and we were out the door in 45 minutes! There are way too many steakhouses in NYC, even just in Tribeca alone, to settle for this experience. I'll not be back to Wolfgang's."

My only complaint this time around was with the service. Our waiter was not the best to say the least.   • "The steak and other items were excellent. All prepared as ordered it is was great. We dined during the snow storm in Jan.so it was quite. Had a strange experiance with our waiter. While reviewing the wine list the he brought over 3 magnums to suggest, telling us the were left over from New Years and could offer them at a discount? One was a nice wine, one was a label I do not like and the 3rd was their own label. We were not interested in them, but he was pushy trying to sell them a few times, offering a $10 discount? I chose a nice wine and he told me this single vinyard would not pair well if we chose a second bottle. He clearly did not know his wine or was trying to insult my expensive choice because I did not buy his magnum suggestion."

I was surprised by the hostess, who had a rather grumpy reaction to seeing my 3 year old as one of our guests for our family dinner that we planned at 5 pm. There were plenty of other young children at that early hour for dinner in New York City, but for some reason I really felt extreme hate from this particular hostess. The porterhouse was amazing, and I really wanted to reach over and try the neighboring table's fruits d' mer platter."

  • "Was here for celebratory lunch with 4 colleagues. First off, the lamb chops I ordered were great. 2 good sized chops perfectly charred on outside, pink inside. Colleagues happy also with their carnivore options. Whipped potatoes, creamed spinach also luxuriously tasty. Staff manner/service was mixed - some servers attentive, but hostess in front, gentleman who seated us bit cold, as if assessing whether we were going to order $200 bottles of wine with lunch or wasting their time. They had not bothered to set up table for 5 until we arrived, even though we made reservations in advance. Had us stand around table as servers awkwardly re-arranged a 4some. Poor form. Setting itself nice. Good, but will try The Palm next time."

  • "Upon arriving, we were greeted with a rather rude waitress/front desk girl. We were then seated with 2 different waiters who were both eager to get our orders as soon as we were seated without giving us a chance to view the menu. After ordering, the food appeared to come out extremely quick, making us think they had been sitting/prepared a lot earlier. The food was nice but the service was very poor. All night we felt as though we were being rushed out of the restaurant, when we just wanted to take our time and enjoy a night out. Upon leaving we asked the front desk girl to order us a taxi and she told us to hail one from the street corner in -3 degree Celsius weather. Overall not a good experience here. Would not recommend."
