Wolfgang's Steak House - Waikiki Beach Great steak and more!I went here after talking to some people around Waikiki, and was highly recommended.We started with a caesar, which was split in two because of the size.I ended up with the New York Strip, and my wife had the Seared Ahi. The steak was excellent, and came out on a sizzling platter. My wife was at first unsure if it was smart to order Ahi at a steak house, but it was cooked to perfection. We also split a side of the lobster mac and cheese, which was amazing.
At one point, the restaurant ran out of wasabi for the fish, and Andrew actually left the restaurant to go get some. This is the type of over the top service that you don't see very often and shows the true character of the server. More than enough for two. I wanted to try other steaks or chops as well as the sides and desserts. My wife and I shared one order of steak (fantastic ribeye 24 oz.), one
order of baked potato (1 lb.), one order of Wolfgang's salad and one order of dessert. The staff seemed to enjoy splitting the
orders for us and were very pleasant and efficient in all areas. The menu and drink prices seem high, at first, but even the
cocktails are large. We saw other tables food come out and we went ooooo and then thank goodness we did'nt order that. It was soooo large. We had a very enjoyable supper.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWolfgang's on a Friday LunchWe were taken to our table as soon as we entered the door BUT after we sat it took at least 15 minutes or more before the menus were brought to us. We had to ask for the menus, then water...not quite the service expected for a moderately busy Friday lunch. The excuse the waiter gave us was that he thought we had already ordered? This was unacceptable since there were only utensils on the table...it clearly looked like we just sat down and no one came to serve us.

Our waiter was very helpful in explaining to us size of portions, didnt try to oversell.
Entree had lobster cocktail, was ok, good value for money but didnt impress us.
Steak cooked perfect, sides were ok, very generous, impressed with how quickly our food came out considering restaurant fully packed. Way too full for desert but we took back with us.

Someone likes me(foreigner) needs to get information about its menu before visit. Table was enough and maybe there was no needs to reservation at my visit time. I am disappointed with my sit even though I booked through opentable.com. Receptionist assigned my table near cashiers' place even though there were enough tables in restraunt. Waiter didn't give me advice about restraunt even though I told him my first visit to this restraunt. Waiter suggesting me giving 18~20% tip by writing to receipt. Started at 4:30 for happy hour - the wine and cocktails were good and the apps - lobster crostini and steak tartar - were delicious! We moseyed over to our reserved table around 5:45. Caesar salad, veal chop, steak for 3 (Porterhouse and a T-bone), creamed spinach, sautéed mushrooms, and fresh asparagus - we all enjoyed a tasty and well presented meal. Thanks to the wives, the leftovers were mine - as planned. Yes, with eggs on Sunday morning. :-) Another plus, the service was just right, smart, attentive and responsive. The service is personable, the food consistent and well done a treat all the way around!! You can walk around and burn off the over-indulgence when you can't decide how many side dishes to order. Our waiter took it back without hesitation and replaced it with an delicious medium rare. Also gave me complimentary glass of wine for the additional wait. Very popular with the Japanese tourists that love to blow money on things that they think are American. We thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of our dining experience. The only thing that threw us off was that our waiter disappeared about half way through the meal and after about 10 minutes another waiter showed up. We asked what happened to the other waiter and he told us that they work in shifts and he had to clock out. Very odd to me that they would change shifts in the middle of the dinner rush. We ended up going with the recommendation of the house special a porter house steak, but opted to get it for 2 only as none of usually eat very much meat. We had the caprese and Caesar salad, I especially liked the caprese the basil puree was a really nice touch and I loved how there was a bit of melted mozzarella on each tomato without the tomato being cooked at all, nice touch. The porter house was perfect cooked and the seasoning was amazing. We really enjoyed everything throughout the evening. JJ was our server and he was great. The filet on the Porterhouse was delicious, juicy andT the way I wanted it to be (Medium rare). The creamed corn and onion rings are the best on the island.
