Diner Reviews
  • "Took my wife for a surprise birthday dinner. The staff and food could not have been better. Would highly recommend to anyone."

  • "Order the Bruschetta, it's awesome. Wine list is great. Ask for a table on the wall. They are more private and you sit on sofas."

  • "enjoyed the service and food were excellent. for the evening my guest and I had. Appetizers Calamari, sauteed shrimp, entree the Salmon and chicken with golden potatoes with spinach and asparagus. Very delicious meal, had enough for left overs. Warmed the next day the food tasted just as good as when it ws ordered."

  • "Went to dinner with my grandmother for my birthday. It took them close to 3 hours for the meal. We had gotten an appetizer, salad, and entrees. The appetizer (calamari) was fantastic, and out within 10 minutes, the salads followed about 5 minutes after the completion of the appetizer. Then the wait started. An hour and 20 minutes wait on the entrees. The server kept saying the kitchen was backed up. However, we we certain that the order was lost. There was no visit from the kitchen manager or an apology given. The food arrived hot, and cooked to specifications (I had a rib eye steak med. rare, she had the chicken). Taste was good, but again, the wait was atrocious. Would probably visit again, as long as time permitted."

  • "Order the side of meatballs. Perfect! We had ribeye, lasagna, whipped potato puree, meatballs, bruschetta, the bread they bring to the table with white bean puree and garlic oil and wine. We feasted. Every bit was beyond excellent! Very good experience"

  • "We have been to this restaurant several times. It is very similar to the one at MGM in Las Vegas which we go to often. We ordered spaghetti and meatballs and the Pepperoni and Salami Spicy Pizza. The Spaghetti was awesome as usual, the pizza was a bit overcooked which made in very marginal."

  • "Other than the cigarette smoke wafting in from the casino, this place is fantastic!"

  • "food was good but pricey; the wrong meal, chicken picante and served to me,original order was for chicken parmesan. The server and manager did offer to remake my dish, however I elected to keep what I had been served in order to partake with the other people in the group. I was surprised this happened since the server recommended the original dish yet ordered the wrong one. Ultimately, I was not charged for the order. This was a first experience of this nature at this restaurant. The antipasti salad we order and shared was quite overpriced based on what you get, very thin slices of lettuce and antipasti accompaniments, slaw like had to differentiate what was in it. Without comps we would probably not continue to frequent."

  • "Great place to take your significant other or even for groups of friends look for a place to dine. Food is top of it's class, a place worth dining at especially when visiting Detroit. "

  • "I went to Wolfgang Italian restaurant after reading horrible reviews about the his steak house. The Italian restaurant had nicer reviews. The wait staff was slow, could not get drink correct, finally after complaining she did come back And apologized. Three of us ordered pork chops and a bit later were told they were out of them. This is for a 7:30 reservation at restaurant at a MGM casino. Miraculously, after the floor manager heard us asking if they could get pork chops at Wolfgang steak house next door, they said they found pork chops. I still do not understand. Dinner was very slow, but I have to say the waitstaff greatly improved. Don't think I'm coming back even with my comps"

  • "This is the second time I have been asked for a review so let me first say we ate at the STEAK restaurant. And the service and the wait after the order was placed was POOR at best and the Steak left a lot to be desired, Overall not very impressed for the first time eating there."

  • "We were seated in a nice booth style table along the far side. I am not a small woman and the booth was still able to allow me room for comfort because the bench seating and table are not attached. One of my guests ordered the Pea Ravioli and the Baby Kale salad. Everything on the menu is al la carte but the side dishes are of a decent size and my other guest and I ordered 2 sides to share as we both ordered rib-eyes for our main dish. The servers are right there maintaining your beverages and any other requests such as I needed a salt shaker. Not sure why they don't put them on the tables but they are available upon request. All was very good and my guests were very pleased and impressed with the quality of food and service and timely."

  • "The food at the restaurant is outstanding. I would go back in a heartbeat if there wasn't a noticeable smoke smell in the restaurant. Although the decor is beautiful, our group just couldn't get beyond the smell of cigarette smoke. It is too bad the restaurant is in the middle of the Casino, and the only way you can get to it is through the casino."

  • "The drinks are potent, pasta cooked perfectly, and Julie (our server) was friendly and very attentive. The atmosphere is quiet so it is easy to have a conversation. My husband and I both love this restaurant. "

  • "Recently during the 2014 Detroit Restaurant Week and we were not impressed. We realize the menu is limited but we left disappointed. The service was poor is when the serve for water slips the table and I have to clean it up that is not right. When you have to ask for water always that is not right. When the empty glass of wine is off to the side and never asked if you wanted one more ..not right. I think you get the idea. Food - I would give a B-. The salmon OK but the chicken piccatta was not that tender. My wife has had better and many Italian places. Location is questionable it is located next in the casino it is exposed to smoke in spite of the glass to ceiling to try to block but the entrance is totally open to the casino floor."

  • "A relaxing and quiet dining experience within the casino. The chef, wait staff and management work as a team. The food was delicious. There were no problems of any sort."

  • "Very enjoyable in every way. Our food was perfect, including a lovely blueberry cheesecake for dessert. Portions were large enough to share a taste with my friend and still take a little home. The service was outstanding from the Valet to the bus crew. I would come for dinner even if I was not gambling, it was that nice. There was a slight scent of smoke from the casino, but it was not too bad and I am very sensitive. I got the chicken choice for Restaurant Week and my friend got the steak. Both were perfect. Even my spinach was delicious. Yes it was. This was an A++++."

  • "Came out for Detroit Restaurant Week. Atmosphere and Service were great, but the food (Flat Iron Steak and Salmon were only fair. Flat Iron Steak was very chewy and the Salmon was overcooked. I wouln't recommend to friends and family at this point. Maybe the regular menu would have been a better choice. You come back to a restaurant because of great food."

  • "Went for Detroit restaurant week. I enjoyed every dish but the Meyer lemon cheesecake was very good. I'm not particularly fond on cheesecake but I REALLY like this dessert."

  • "We went here for Detroit restaurant week. Took advantage of the opportunity to go to the casino, which was disappointingly smoky. The fact that you have to even walk through it to get to this restaurant is a negative for the place. Our booth was nice and private. Overall, the food was very nice. We started with the saffron arancini and roasted onion soup and both were excellent. The house foccaccia also hit the spot. Entrees - salmon with vegs and fresh cut papardelle with wild mushrooms - were tasty but a little too heavy on the butter. The cheesecake was excellent. The glass of white that my husband had was fine but nothing special. Overall, we felt that the service was too fast - there were barely five minutes between courses."

  • "Appetizers and Pizza were good, but the service needs some work. They used the team strategy, so we had several people wait on our table, and their communication was not good. Management seemed to be focused on great service for just a few tables, that must have had special guests of the casino. The calamari was tasty and the sausage with spinach pizza was very good. "

  • "Food was outstanding, waiter was horrible. He presented the restaurant week menu as if it was sub par. He rarely checked on us to see if we needed anything. We had to stop other servers to ask for water refills and a fork. When asked our servers name by one if the servers who did help us, we had no idea, he didn't tell us. Upon presenting the bill he became very attentive as to how we were leaving his tip, card or cash. He pointed out what amount our tip should be based on. He picked up the bill and right in front of our face looked at it as if to see if it was appropriate. He never once thanked us. When I asked his name he reluctantly told me TOM. He ruined what should have been a great dining experience."

  • "We expected a very good meal for the price and ambience of the restaurant. Our server was fantastic but the food was not that great. The calamari was super salty and just tasted like deep fried batter. My kale salad was very good but small. My husband had the steak and it was just ok. We have definitely had better at a much more affordable place. Not sure we will visit again."

  • "We love to try new restaurants during Detroit Restaurant Week. Since we never visit the Casino's, I was sure about going to MGM to eat. I must say it was a great experience. The restaurant is very nice. I loved the look. The DRW menu choices were nice and full size entrees. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. The food was good and presented in a upscale way. I had the baby arugula salad which was outstanding. We will go back especially before a Red Wings or Tigers game. My only negative is walking through the smoked filled casino floor to get to Wolfgang Pucks."

  • "I must commend the restaurant on the lovely customer service which included the hostess, waitress, and other servers. The food, presentation, and pace of service were all terrific. Thank you for providing a truly relaxing evening in a lovely space. I loved the booth seating, it was just a little private. Perfect."

  • "3rd visit, party of 3, excellent service and meal. Had the same waitress, liz, as on our visit months earlier, who remember us and went out of her way to make sure we could be served item that was not on the menu."

  • "WP Cucina had wonderful food. My boyfriend and I shared the bruschetta and each got a pizza (mushroom and margahrita) and also split dessert. It was delicious, but a bit pricey."

  • "I ordered the special they had but it wasn't too good. My husband got the angel hair pasta with shrimp and that was amazing, so was the margarita pizza. I'll definitely be coming back for that pizza!"

  • "Tried this place for Valentines day and I wasn't disappointed. We didn't wait at all to be seated and the service throughout was prompt but we never felt rushed. We both had pasta dishes and they were delicious. Drinks we're also good, the bartender knows how to make a Long Island."

  • "My wife and I visited WP Pizzaria and Cucina on Valentine's Day for a special night out. I ordered a glass of wine and my wife asked for a virgin "fruit" drink (she's pregnant). He quickly gave a few suggestions and my wife agreed on one. Drinks were excellent. I ordered the mozzarella and prosciutto appetizer, and my wife got the Cauliflower soup. She loved her soup, but my appetizer wasn't good. The appetizer came out as a huge hunk of cheese in the middle, along with large slices of prosciutto. It was awkward to eat (not rolled up for you, pieces too large, and some pieces were chewy or hard). Dinner we ordered Chicken Parm and Ricotta Gnocchi. Both were excellent! We got the sundae dessert - VERY unique! Overall - great night"
