Diner Reviews
  • "We went here for Detroit restaurant week. Took advantage of the opportunity to go to the casino, which was disappointingly smoky. The fact that you have to even walk through it to get to this restaurant is a negative for the place. Our booth was nice and private. Overall, the food was very nice. We started with the saffron arancini and roasted onion soup and both were excellent. The house foccaccia also hit the spot. Entrees - salmon with vegs and fresh cut papardelle with wild mushrooms - were tasty but a little too heavy on the butter. The cheesecake was excellent. The glass of white that my husband had was fine but nothing special. Overall, we felt that the service was too fast - there were barely five minutes between courses."

  • "Went for Detroit restaurant week. I enjoyed every dish but the Meyer lemon cheesecake was very good. I'm not particularly fond on cheesecake but I REALLY like this dessert."

  • "We expected a very good meal for the price and ambience of the restaurant. Our server was fantastic but the food was not that great. The calamari was super salty and just tasted like deep fried batter. My kale salad was very good but small. My husband had the steak and it was just ok. We have definitely had better at a much more affordable place. Not sure we will visit again."

  • "Came out for Detroit Restaurant Week. Atmosphere and Service were great, but the food (Flat Iron Steak and Salmon were only fair. Flat Iron Steak was very chewy and the Salmon was overcooked. I wouln't recommend to friends and family at this point. Maybe the regular menu would have been a better choice. You come back to a restaurant because of great food."

  • "We love to try new restaurants during Detroit Restaurant Week. Since we never visit the Casino's, I was sure about going to MGM to eat. I must say it was a great experience. The restaurant is very nice. I loved the look. The DRW menu choices were nice and full size entrees. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. The food was good and presented in a upscale way. I had the baby arugula salad which was outstanding. We will go back especially before a Red Wings or Tigers game. My only negative is walking through the smoked filled casino floor to get to Wolfgang Pucks."

  • "Food was outstanding, waiter was horrible. He presented the restaurant week menu as if it was sub par. He rarely checked on us to see if we needed anything. We had to stop other servers to ask for water refills and a fork. When asked our servers name by one if the servers who did help us, we had no idea, he didn't tell us. Upon presenting the bill he became very attentive as to how we were leaving his tip, card or cash. He pointed out what amount our tip should be based on. He picked up the bill and right in front of our face looked at it as if to see if it was appropriate. He never once thanked us. When I asked his name he reluctantly told me TOM. He ruined what should have been a great dining experience."

  • "3rd visit, party of 3, excellent service and meal. Had the same waitress, liz, as on our visit months earlier, who remember us and went out of her way to make sure we could be served item that was not on the menu."

  • "I must commend the restaurant on the lovely customer service which included the hostess, waitress, and other servers. The food, presentation, and pace of service were all terrific. Thank you for providing a truly relaxing evening in a lovely space. I loved the booth seating, it was just a little private. Perfect."

  • "WP Cucina had wonderful food. My boyfriend and I shared the bruschetta and each got a pizza (mushroom and margahrita) and also split dessert. It was delicious, but a bit pricey."

  • "I ordered the special they had but it wasn't too good. My husband got the angel hair pasta with shrimp and that was amazing, so was the margarita pizza. I'll definitely be coming back for that pizza!"

  • "Tried this place for Valentines day and I wasn't disappointed. We didn't wait at all to be seated and the service throughout was prompt but we never felt rushed. We both had pasta dishes and they were delicious. Drinks we're also good, the bartender knows how to make a Long Island."

  • "My wife and I visited WP Pizzaria and Cucina on Valentine's Day for a special night out. I ordered a glass of wine and my wife asked for a virgin "fruit" drink (she's pregnant). He quickly gave a few suggestions and my wife agreed on one. Drinks were excellent. I ordered the mozzarella and prosciutto appetizer, and my wife got the Cauliflower soup. She loved her soup, but my appetizer wasn't good. The appetizer came out as a huge hunk of cheese in the middle, along with large slices of prosciutto. It was awkward to eat (not rolled up for you, pieces too large, and some pieces were chewy or hard). Dinner we ordered Chicken Parm and Ricotta Gnocchi. Both were excellent! We got the sundae dessert - VERY unique! Overall - great night"

  • "My fiance and I celebrated his 33rd birthday dinner here Saturday (2/8/2014) night. We started with the shrimp scampi and fried calamari for appetizers. Delicous! The shrimp scampi definitely won us both over. We each had the salmon for our entree with the Tuscan potatoes and brussel sprouts. I could have eaten the bowl of potatoes and been happy, they were perfect. My fiance really enjoyed the brussel sprouts. He said they had a surprise kick towards the end of each bite. He washed his meal down with a couple glasses of Mad Hatter while I had a couple glasses of the Reisling. Our server was Liz G and she was very delightful. She went over the ENTIRE menu with us and shared with us her favorites. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience."

  • "This visit was probably the most disappointing. Our server told us that there were many better appetizers than the ones we chose, making us feel somewhat insulted. From experience, these were our favorites. I had Caesar salad. Lettuce was not the freshest, had no grated parmesan nor was the dressing good. I had asked for some on the side and it was all runny, spicy and very orange in color - not typical Caesar. I received another one with the explanation that the dressing had "broken", this is why it was in unacceptable condition/ bad taste. Why serve it then? New salad had "unbroken" portion of dressing, which was better. I ordered "angel hair", was not told none was available, so my dinner arrived as spaghetti, which I do not like."

  • "I have dined here before and have enjoyed it every time. The service and food was excellent. Our server went out of his way to help us with drink and meal choices. He was very knowledgable and assisted with vegetarian options for one of our party. I will keep coming back. Thank you!"

  • "I booked Wolfgang Pucks a little last minute because I wasn't sure I was going to go out for New Years this year. And was pleasantly surprised at how great everything went. There was no high pressure made to myself or my guest as to whether we wanted an alcoholic beverage or not, like a lot of other restaurants seem to do. Everything was served in a timely manner, so we had enough time between our courses. The ambience was just right, all the other guests were quiet and enjoying their dinners as much as we were. Overall a very enjoyable experience for my first time eating there."

  • "We had a 9 PM reservation but opted to sit at the bar to watch football on TV. We split a Caeser Salad (which they split for us), a Mushroom Pasta Dish which they did not split for us, and a Pizza. The pasta was the really good, the salad was decent, and the pizza was ok, not bad, just ok. The pizza was billed as spicy, which is wasn't. We eat at Wolfgang Puck in Las Vegas reguarly. This one was just not up to the same level. My biggest complaint is the quality of the drinks. At $13 each, our Kettle One Vodka and Red Bulls were small and pretty weak. Not enough Vodka or Red Bull."

  • "Upon entering the restaurant, we were warmly greeted by the hostess and promptly seated in a private booth. I did not mention that is was our anniversary but the atmosphere was appropriate for a 31st wedding anniv. The waiter was very attentive and the food was great. With this restaurant being in a casino, one would think it would be a little noisy, not so. The casino noise is barely noticeable."

  • "We had a reservation for six and celebrated 2 birthdays. Everyone's meal was flavorful and nicely presented. The only thing I didn't like was the table. It was a long rectangular table and hard to hear. A party of six should b seated around a round table. Service was good otherwise. Would recommend to my friends."

  • "This restaurant was great! The food was excellent, the service was superb, and the restaurant itself was gorgeous. I don't think that the food was too pricey especially for the quality that you get. If you're looking for a nice romantic restaurant this is definitely it. You won't regret it."

  • "Great intimate off-sides room for 8 of us. Very good food, everyone loved the salmon and filets (I had salad & was good). The bill came with a "service charge", which ended up being the included gratuity for parties over 6. The problem was that it said "gratuity not included" right underneath the total. It was embarrassing for my husband to have to question the bill in front of CLIENTS!! He tried to do it discreetly, but everyone knew there was a problem. I wonder how many people miss this AND include another 20%!! Not good."

  • "Been here several times. Food always great. However Service this time was poor at best..and 5 Bucks for a diet coke, how about the waiter coming by to ask for refill, or better yet maybe just bring one..we were obviously a pain for him."

  • "the bright spot can be some good dining. We were happy to have made a reservation or would have been denied this very comfortable, relaxing dinner amidst the madness of MGM Grand. The booth seating was private and lovely for conversation as the noise level was way below normal. The service was very attentive yet quiet and the food was good; diners enjoyed the chicken picatta, the salmon and two pasta dishes."

  • "It was our first time to Wolfgang Puck. Food was delicious. The bruschetta, butternut squash soup were great! It was just annoying that a larger bachelorette party was seated close to us and they were drinking and getting very loud and screaming. I didn't like that they were opening their lingerie gifts as well. I think the large groups should be seated in private away from other customers."
