Witherspoon GrillThe DeliciousnessThe oysters were phenomenal, filet mignon tips were melt-in-your-mouth and mashed potatoes were delicious, lobster mac and cheese was incredible, and most important, the bread pudding for dessert was the best I've ever had. And I am considered to be, in respected circles, a bread pudding connoisseur.6/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food and ServiceAs usual the food was great, and this time the waiter was exceptional. He made good suggestions and even got my brother's steak cooked the way he liked it, and let me tell you that rarely happens.6/13/2013 12:00:00 AMgood serviceWe had a wonderful waiter here, non-interefering but very efficient.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat placeThe food and service was great. The white martini, incredible. My only negative observation was how loud the live music was. Fine if you are going to the bar but too loud for a sit down dinner.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGood time!Dinner was excellent. My only quibble was with using the small tables in the bar for seating. It felt very crowded and a bit cramped.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Find.Bartender Karen was amazing. The food and service was good. Pricey but very good. Excellent wine list.6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went for the live jazzWe went for the live jazz and we were not disappointed, the Brothers Grimm were excellent. We only wish they had live music more than once a week! The food was excellent, the marinara sauce is to die for. I had one version with the calamari and the other with the PEI mussels, both excellent for their dishes. My companions enjoyed their spinach salads and the broccoli side was great with the right amount of garlic. The drinks were very good, not overly weak like far too many but way too pricey. The non-smoking policy of the outdoor dining is very commendable!6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was very tasty andThe food was very tasty and the service was also good. The waitstaff was attentive to our needs but not obtrusive.6/1/2013 12:00:00 AMReliable ServiceGreat Resturant if you are looking for good food and reliable service. Your water glass is never empty, very attentive staff. We split a salad which was divided in the kitchen without having to ask. We had the specials which were both fabulous. Always a good experience at Witherspoon.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways busy, good, reliableAlways busy, good, reliable unfussy food. Steaks, seafood, braised short ribs always good, but a bit pricey.5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMSteak Salad @ the WGTry the steak salad - it is very good. Order with a side of mushrooms...awesome.5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways busy but now they takeAlways busy but now they take reservations - hurrah! Can always rely on getting an excellent meal and it's a great place to bring students so long as you are paying!5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMBrunchReservation was honored from open table.Went for brunch and it was excellent.Service was super. Will definitely go back.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat atmosphere for a group eventOur group of 8 all enjoyed our meals. We had great fun with good service. Very pleased.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMmom day brnuchGreat meal, spinach dip, & excellent burger, eggs benidect cooked perfect. Nice selection of specialty drinks. Service was friendly and promt had a wonderful experience. Can't wait to try dinner menu .5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Lunch SpotI took my mom here for Mother's Day. We had a great view by the windows and wonderful food. It really was a perfect spot for lunch. We will definitely be going back.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat dinnerWe had an early dinner before a play at McCarter. The restaurant is next to the parking garage, so parking wasn't a problem! Since many area restaurants don't have liquor licenses, it's notable that this one does - - We just had wine by the glass - good! My steak was tender and perfectly done (medium rare) - and my husband's salmon was prepared deliciously - he even ate the brussel sprouts leaves, and he hates brussel sprouts! We passed on dessert, but there were lots of yummy-looking choices! Service was very professional and attentive, but we didn't feel like we had to hurry. Perfect!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMFave for lunch in PrincetonTake your student to lunch at Witherspoon. Burgers are giagantic, the lobster risotto to die for! Have been here on holidays as well as lunch whenever visiting campus. Service and food quality are always consistently good no matter how busy they are.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother great dinnerWent to Witherspoon to celebrate a birthday and an early Mother's Day. As usual, the food was wonderful. I will admit that our server was not as friendly or prompt as usual, but other than that it was great.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMman.. the filet mignon tips! They are beyond delicious. I will have to stop in for those again, SOON.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMSunday supper/slightly too loud, deThe salads are always great. However, my salmon (pan roasted w asparagus was a little too salty). The service was only fair, as I asked the waiter to refill my daughter's water and please bring me a water , and all we got was her refill, until about 8 minutes later). (A few minutes after i got the refill , he asked if i had gotten it). He is either over-worked, or more attentive to other tables, or both. My sister had asked for onion, for her burger, and he needed to be reminded about that, 10 minutes after she received it.
The dessert was delicious.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMA Princeton gemWe met good friends for dinner and wanted a place with excellent food, good ambience not too loud and conveniently located. Witherspoon Grill fit all the criteria. we ordered the crab cakes which were unbelievably good. Large and filled with chunks of lump crab, held together with shreds of crab and no filler. With it came a delicious cabbage slaw with just enough dressing to make it tasty but no overwhelm the freshness of the ingredients. The service was friendly and prompt and after dinner we left well satisfied for a walk around the area which was a perfect ending for a great evening.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMTheir food is wonderful; cheese-craTheir food is wonderful; cheese-crab dip is the best anywhere!4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMFood to WOW @ The Witherspoon GrillFood was wonderful at the Witherspoon Grill! I had incredible scallops & my husband had crab cocktail & strip steak. For a high end steak house, their seafood was also amazing! Maybe this is because it has the same owner as The Blue Point Grill,a great seafood restaurant also in Princeton. Even the bread was amazing! The restaurant was packed so even with an 8:45 reservation on a Saturday night, we still had a short wait. Tables were very close together & reminded me of cramped NYC dining. When I noticed we weren't handed a cocktail menu, the lady at the next table handed me hers! The noise level was extremely loud making conversation difficult without raising my voice, however, it died down as the Witherspoon emptied. Go for the food!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMSolidOne of my new favorites in Princeton. Probably the least "foodie" restaurant in town. Food is for eating, not tasting. Less creative than Agricola, Elements, Mediterra, Teresa, etc. Well-executed standards. Substantial portions. Bland but very pleasant upscale decor and good service.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMA great steakhouseWe feel like we have found a gem : the sirloin was perfect, the fries delicious, the wine we chose out of the very good list (a Fronsac) more than great, and our deserts (lava cake & lemon pie) mouth-watering. The restaurant is not cheap but more that worth its price. And now we just wished we did not live in LA but in Princeton :)4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMRoommates ReunionGood meal as usual, and we got seated early! 7 of the 8 of us had hamburgers...and some wondered if there had been a bun change? We want the old buns back! The non-burger person had a pork chop, which was excellent. We'll be back.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWould highly recommend. TheWould highly recommend. The mussels appetizer was fantastic as was the lobster mac and cheese.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMTremendous Find.My Feilet Mognon Tips were cooked perfectly. I also enjiyed the salad wedge.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Steaks and MoreVisited Witherspoon Grill for a Dinner Meeting. Menu was steak, chop, and fish oriented with sharable sides and good salads. Service great, noise level on Wednesday night was still OK for dinner conversation. Only two issues - minor. One steak, which was asked for to be "just pink" and advised to order MEDIUM did arrive Medium rare to rare. All the other meals were perfect. Also, booth seating is a little low for the table if you are 5.5 feet or shorter... but you can choose the chair on other side of the table. Outside tables on the public square look fun (but it was threatening rain) and downtown Princeton is a nice setting, you can walk and shop before and after dinner. Convenient safe parking lot is literally steps away.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMWitherspoon Grill, while pricey,Witherspoon Grill, while pricey, is perfectly located, has solidly good food, and generally good service. It is a family favorite for us for birthdays, as one is never rushed, and th food is always good. The menu is diverse, and the seafood is always flawless. My meat eating family enjoys their steaks too.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMAlthough not cheap, the WitherspoonAlthough not cheap, the Witherspoon Grill is a nice place with excellent food.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMWe come to Witherspoon forWe come to Witherspoon for lunch when my family is in town, and occasionally in the evenings with friends. We dined with another couple on Sunday, and the food was great! Tom, our server, was excellent, friendly yet not intrusive. We really enjoyed our experience (again) and will be back!4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMAs expected the steaks wereAs expected the steaks were great - done medium rare as requested. The menu included more than the usual steak house fare with a variety of salads and fresh vegetable side dishes. For example, one of the salads included fresh pears and the green beans were perfectly crisp and not overcooked. The service was attentive.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was late, after a lacrosseIt was late, after a lacrosse game, and we were starving. Fulfilled our expectations and has a great ambiance for a college town eatery. Our first time and it was a home run.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMFood is good. Next time willFood is good. Next time will try the steak. Fun atmosphere. Great waitress.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMAnother great lunchWhenever we visit Princeton we make it a point to have lunch here. The sourdough bread is absolutely fantastic. I always have one of their 12 on tap beers, each of which is delivered in its proper glass. My wife started with a nice onion soup. Her entre was a crab cake which she feels is not equaled elsewhere. I had the catch of the day. It was the best trout (rainbow) that I've ever had. The catch of the day is always good but this time they out did themselves. A very nice chopped salad came with our entres. I find that the prices are quite reasonable.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMAS always, food was deliciousAS always, food was delicious and service was very personal - only default was the wait for the table - at least ten minutes - it's always a wait even with a reservation. Will go back.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful! We had a wonderful Ladies Night Out!! Great food, great ambiance and great cocktails. What more could we ask for?!3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went to celebrate, a birthday,We went to celebrate, a birthday, an engagement & a birth and had a great time and the BEST waiter!!3/9/2013 12:00:00 AM
