The atmosphere is lovely, the servers attentive and helpful, and the food is marvelous (and cooked by culinary students at Sullivan University in the last phase of their program). I would recommend going for Brunch and Lunch rather than dinner.
A family members went for dinner was disappointed that the short ribs were not on dinner menu.Thought food was good.
If you are a fan must have creme brulee and chocolate cake
I had the salmon which was perfectly cooked. My husband had the short ribs which were the best he ever had.
Loved that the coffee was French Press.
The staff is very attentive even though they were busy.
It is run by the students of Sullivan College which is a Culinary school. I would recommend Winston to anyone going to Louisville
My husband's family is from there and the cuisine has not been a highlight of our visits unt3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was nice coming back!We haven't dined at the Winston restaurant for a while, mostly because it's out of the way, and they're only opened two days a week. We were very pleasantly surprised to discover that the menu is still quaint, the food tastes good, it's brought to the table in a timely manner, and the wine list accommodates many tastes.
The decor is outstanding, and the service was very attentive without being "in our face".
We will be back!1/25/2013 12:00:00 AM
