We had a late reservation, after 8pm so the dining room was quiet. We loved the old New England feel of the space. The food is where we were blown away. We ordered cheese + charcuterie spread, risotto and filet. Portions were great for the price. Wine list didn't disappoint. This meal had the feeling of the city without the hassle of driving to and from. Our server forgot the soup ordered with our apps. She was so apologetic and professional, admitted her mistake and continued giving us great service. We will absolutely be back again and have already recommended to friends.

Deliciously creative twist on classic American fare. Very tasty and fresh with great selection of appetizers and entrees, and separate group of standard pub food as well. The porcini pappardelle was mildly flavorful and hearty without the oil/grease. Pork loin perfectly prepared and juicy all the way through. Awesome inventive root vegetable w/ greens starter, and a charcuterie menu that is a must.

My partner and I came to Winsor House Inn for date night. We had made a reservation for later in the evening because we planned to catch sunset at the beach first. Since it was a bit chilly out, we decided to skip over early and enjoy a cocktail by the fire pit before dinner. They were able to accommodate the change with no problem! The drinks were delicious and they even brought out marshmallows for toasting--which was a fun treat. When we moved inside to our table, we ordered three delicious courses to share. The oysters, tuna tartar, and salmon were all fresh and extremely tasty. The atmosphere is romantic but very relaxed. The service was great and the staff was all very friendly. We'll be back next time we visit the south shore!

The food was great. The service was very slow, I think our server was new and a little overwhelmed. She seemed very busy too many tables to run. We sat in the room open to the patio, the door was open and flies buzzed our table. It was my mothers birthday dinner, I would have liked to have sat in the main dining room up stairs room, quieter.

The Summer menu is fantastic here. The prices may seem high, but you definitely get more than your money's worth here. The staff is very friendly and not stuffy. It can get very busy. They have very nice outdoor seating and somehow seem to be able to pull off being family friendly and romantic. The filet they have now with the fresh vegetables and herbs from the outdoor garden for $35 just shouldn't be missed. The calamari and tuna tartare are great. If they have the zucchini matchsticks with almonds, I can't recommend them enough. Both the cod and salmon dishes are just perfect.

First my sons soft drink arrived with a large black ant floating in it!! That should have been a sign. A waiter serving a table behind us dropped a utensil from a plate, as he lunged to catch it, water from the tray of oysters he was removing landed on my wife's empty chair and on the floor around our table and others. I asked if he could get another chair, but never returned with one. Our server had to get it. The restaurant had a large private function going on, so it's possible the staff was overwhelmed, but the owner was celebrating her birthday at another table adjacent to ours and was never informed of any of this. The food overall was not bad, but not worth a return trip.

Everything about our evening was most enjoyable except the noise level. We were four friends who were trying to catch up with each other. We were in the "garden" room and the noise was terrible. Hard to hear what anyone said. Would go back and sit in another location. We were all pleased with our dinner and service.

What a gem, stuck halfway between Boston and the Cape. The food was exceptional, and the menu was a remarkable blend of small plates, appetizers, full means, and everything in between. We especially liked the cheese and meats selection. The outdoor seating was elegant and so comfortable. We, friends and us, had great time visiting.

Our first visit to the Winsor House since new ownership. The food was very good. We thought the wait for food was a bit long. The waitress was very nice. Unfortunately it was so cold that it made our experience here unpleasant. The quality of food would make us give it another try and ask for a warmer table! We would recommend bringing a sweater here!

The Winsor House has been open under new ownership for the past year, and the owners have clearly spent time listening to their customers, adjusting the menu, and fine tuning the restaurant. It's working. This was our first time for brunch; we generally come for dinner. The menu was creative (classic English breakfast and eggs Benedict, warm pancakes with fresh fruit, and some of the more popular items off the dinner menu like the zucchini sticks with grilled shrimp or chicken and the Winsor burger). The presentation beautiful. We sat outside on the patio, which is the coveted brunch spot. One friend, who lives in Boston, even commented that while Boston has plenty of great brunch spots, he'd made the drive to come to Winsor's. We agree.

This was a very impressive meal - everyone was thrilled with their food, but sitting outside on a sunny Sunday in the summer cannot be beat. The Executive Sous Chef ran into us just by chance and offered up a tour of not only the other dining rooms including the private rooms, but also the Inn bedrooms - they were so quaint! Perfect place to have a special family or big group dinner as the private dining room seats 14. You won't be disappointed.

The order was taken quickly and the food arrived without delay. The chowder was excellent, the Winsor House Cobb salad is a great salad. The burger made out of ground ribeye steak is very tasty. What a transformation from the prior Winsor House! Food was exquisite. Decor very tasteful, while respecting the inn's historic roots. The oysters were out of this world good, as were the salmon and roasted cod. Loved the originality and taste of the cream cheese ice cream! Coming from California, we've turned a bit snobby in our food tastes. This has been our first south shore restaurant to compare with Cali food. The food was delicious. We got a cheese and charcuterie board to start. Chicken and Steak for dinner. Chocolate cake for dinner. A bottle of wine to wash it all down with. Our 13mo daughter got the grilled cheese with fruit and ate the plate clean. The room had several other families. The children played outside while the adults got some alone time. Can't wait until my daughter is old enough for that!
