Winflo OsteriaExcellent ServiceI've been there twice now and the waitstaff is excellent and the ambience during this beautiful spring weather is wonderful. Definitely a neighborhood gem.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful gluten free optionsGluten free Italian is rare and good gluten free Italian even rarer. This was delicious and my pasta truly did not seem gluten free. They have a nice wine list and service was speedy. I am so grateful they have opened.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was fabulous andThe food was fabulous and the experience was very nice. It is a beautiful restaurant.
I only have one complaint. The tab should be split by customer. We had a 10 person group and the waitress split the tab evenly over the whole table. One person had to pay $60 for french toast and 3 mimosas for her and her date. I will tell my friends, but I will also tell them not to come to the restaurant for a special occasion. A small party or a date would be fine.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMSeems like a keeperThe restaurant is beautiful. We loved sitting on the patio. Our waiter was very friendly and made some great suggestions. My friend and I had the artichoke appetizer and we split a pasta dish and a margherita pizza. The pizza was really good. The artichoke was like any other fried appetizer and the dipping sauce tasted like regular old ranch salad dressing. The pesto pasta was good enough, the fresh green beans were the best part. Overall, I felt that we were paying for the lovely atmosphere. The food was just ok. When we go back, we will probably just have some drinks and split a pizza.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent pizzaLoved the Margherita and Prosciutto pizzas. Nice selection of Italian wines.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMNordy Girls ReunionWe went to Winflo's to reunite some Nordy friends, and had a great time! Love the character this little old house has, and the drinks were just amazing! We can't wait to come back next month and sit out on the patio! It was freezing the night we went so we had to sit inside....Love, Love!!!! We will be back!5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMThrilled! As you do, you seem to always be on the quest for a new restaurant to add to your rotation of regular spots. The kind that you know you can hit with confidence. To fit that bill it has to be great food obviously, and for us it needs to be relaxed, casual, and not overly expensive. Winflo is now on our rotation. Great menu, great service, wonderful space. Food was delivered surprisingly fast. If it is possible that could be seen as a negative that would be it. Carpaccio was almost creamy. Arugula salad was a perfect chaser to that. The steak with polenta was cooked perfectly and the prosciutto pizza was as good the next day as it was out of the oven Great spot. Winflo we will be seeing you soon. And often.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMThe walnut crusted chickenThe walnut crusted chicken & mushroom risotto was to die for!4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMawesome food.Great drinks I had the Sazerac or three. Mussels and chesse plate was awesome. Entrees were top notch. great place sat outside under a massive lighted oak tree.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMBlueberry BrunchWorld's best blueberry muffins! I ccouldve eaten all they had in the house. The sides were tasty. Everything was a great price, too.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMAdorable Austin Date SpotWhat an adorable spot! It was pretty busy even at our 9pm reservation but we were sat promptly. Our server was spread a little thin, but he was incredibly helpful and very sweet. The food was amazing (we had the artichoke appetizer, both soups, the pork belly, the redfish, and the lemon cream cake that I am still dreaming about ;) Cocktails were delicious, the espresso martini was a lovely end to it all!! Definitely a nice addition to the Austin foodie scene! (Note to management: when your servers are struggling, it is your responsibility to help, not hang out in the host stand. You have a wonderful staff, support them.)4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWinflo Wins!Winflo Osteria ia a true winner in all ways. Great decor and atmosphere accompanies an interesting menu. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff takes excellent care of all your needs and wants. Efficient in every aspect of the experience. Delicious choices fill the menu and the drinks are prepared with the customers satisfaction in mind. Very pleasant noise level inside, next time will experience the outdoor dining option. The parking options are also well thought out. Overall this place is a no-brainer when it comes to value for your money.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat restaurant, great food,Great restaurant, great food, great service. The owners need to
Look at creating something to absorb the noise inside. It get's
very loud in the restaurant during peak times.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWinflo is a Winner!!!We LOVED this place! We walked in and immediately fell in love with the quaint charm of the house-turned-restaurant setting. Hubs and I felt super hip dining at such a cute little spot. It was noisy, so if you're looking for quiet evening away, this may not be your place. But the food was delicious, and the service was great! Our server was witty and funny and made herself scarce while still making sure we had what we needed. The manager even came over and told us dessert was on the house! Wow! Love, love, love!! We will definitely be back!4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMNew restaurant, close to downtown.New restaurant, close to downtown. Love the outdoor patio! And the food is amazing. We will definitely be back!!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMHostess was awesome. We originallyHostess was awesome. We originally were seated indoor but wanted outdoor because it was loud inside. She gladly accommodated us and had a wonderful server. He was very personable and attentive.4/11/2013 12:00:00 AMMy boyfriend and I went hereMy boyfriend and I went here for restaurant week because we had been wanting to go for a few weeks. We sat inside, which was kind of noisy but a good atmosphere. Next time I definitely want to try sitting outside. The only thing that was off about Winflo is that they bring out each meal as they are done. So I sat with my food for about 10 minutes before my boyfriend received his. It wasn't too much of a problem since we were comfortable enough with each other for me to start eating, but it could be problematic on a first date situation. Overall, the food was great, and I definitely want to try their brunch.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect 24th AnniversaryMy husband and I celebrated our 24th anniversary there! Upon arrival they had a nice little corner table for two by the fireplace and bookshelves. It was beautiful! The staff told us happy anniversary and went our of their way to make our dining experience memorable. Our waiter was very knowledgable on the menu and was happy to share in our special occasion with us. Everything was impeccable from the drinks to dessert! Had a wonderful pasta with walnut and pesto and the pizza with fried egg on it! Both were amazing! Would get it again without a doubt! Finished it off with a light and airy lemon cake! The best lemon cake I've ever had! Make your reservations and do it soon! It'll surely become one of your favorite spots to eat!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went for Saturday brunch,We went for Saturday brunch, and apparently it was Winflo's first day to have brunch. The hostess and servers were very friendly and attentive. The food was fresh and delicious! It took a while to get our order, but I think they were just working out the kinks. This place is right down the street from our house, so we'll definitely be coming back. Really cute interior!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMThe ambience is a great mixThe ambience is a great mix of artistic, elegant without being stuffy or pretentious, but having that energetic independent vibe that works for all ages - the vibe we love Austin for! We saw an eclectic mix of diners, from families with young children, romantic couples, and small gatherings of friends/family, yet we could have an intimate conversation without loud music or surrounding noise ever being an issue. We dined indoors, but also noted the great patio dining, too. The service and food were outstanding. We will return and will enthusiastically recommend Winflo Osteria to others.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food and drinks. Pleasant,Good food and drinks. Pleasant, well-timed service. Very good experience all around.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMOne complaint is that thereOne complaint is that there is disorganization with reservations and parties waiting to be seated. We had to wait 20 minutes and we had reservations ! We may have had to wait longer if it weren't for a wonderful waitress, Caroline, who took an interest in us while serving us drinks when waiting. She found us a table (while hostess staff was clueless) and even ended up being our dinner waitress after we were clearly in someone else's station. Caroline was very knowledgeable about wine list and menu. She was very attentive, but not annoying. In Winflo's defense, they had two rather large parties that were clogging up everything. The largest party stayed and stayed which in my opinion was very rude and selfish. I hope they gave big tip!3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMWinflor Osteria is new onWinflor Osteria is new on the scene and off to a great start. Food, service and ambience were absolutely perfect. Had the carbonara pizza and a pasta dish as well as the amaretto cheesecake. Really liked the cushy chairs in the inside dining, but the outside decks under the lit oak tree looked inviting too. With so many restaurants to choose from, Winflo Osteria not only makes the cut, but is definitely worth a repeat visit. If I had out of town guests, WO would come to mind to entertain. If I were on a date, this is a great place to go too. Nothing negative to say on this place, gotta be tried, don't miss it.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMCaroline was an outstandingCaroline was an outstanding server! Cute place with great food.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMservice was excellent andservice was excellent and the interior space was beautiful. but found the food quite bland. also the pizza crust was gummy, too doughy, too thick, possibly undercooked. toppings were fresh & flavorful.2/2/2013 12:00:00 AM
