Diner Reviews
  • "Neat place for groups and special occasions. The food is okay, but a bit on the pricey side for what you get. So overall, great atmosphere and location, and average food on the pricey side."

  • "We went here as a group and had an outstanding experience. The menu allows a variety of choices so everyone can choose their favorite food. I recommend this resturant to my colleagues every time they are in town."

  • "Celebrated our wedding anniversary, had a great time, great service, great food, great selection of wines."

  • "Live Jazz music playing in the back ground, phenomenal service and great food makes this restaurant a must!!"

  • "Bottom line: The food is just not good. Bland, tasteless."

  • "Five of us ate here and the food was a please surprise, excellent quality and well prepared. The sea bass was really excellent and we all enjoyed the crab cakes as an appetizer. Wine goes from medium price way up - we were offered a bottle for $150! More than we tended. Overall, excellent."

  • "The bone-in filet was outstanding. We took a party of ten people from work and had a great time. The appetizers, entres and desserts were all delicious and the service was great as well!"

  • "This was our first time visiting Winewood. Every aspect was incredible. Our reservation was for 6:45p so we went to the bar for happy hour until we would be seated. The lemon drops were delicious! Dinner was great and our waiter was very knowledgeable. Open table was great also. I was able to pick a time and it was honored when we arrived. No problems at all. I definitely recommend Winewood and open table. Thanks both."

  • "We have many friends we take here for an extra anniversary dinner. This is first time the food quality was diminished. Salad was great. Tenderloin bruschetta wonderful. Wine was great. Service was phenomenal. However, the steaks this time were disappointing. Ribeyes and filet were not good. Not a good cut or something, lacking tenderness and flavor. The sauce on the ribeye and shrimp was off, compared to previous experience. In this price range, it was unacceptable. Even the famed mac and cheese seemed different. We've never experienced this here in a half dozen or so visits in the last 6 months, which is why we always come back. We'll still give it another chance, probably."

  • "Get educated...... Sea Bass dish was outstanding! Wow! They have a excellent wine list with some nice premium wines but....... You could also pay 60 dollars for a bottle of supermarket wine. Be careful, know what you are doing. Not every server knows wine as they should but from what I heard many really did."

  • "Our first visit to Winewood for brunch was very nice and we will definitely stop back there to for dinner to try other things on their menu in the future."
    Dined on 3/23/2014
  • "Overall it was a nice experience. Food got a bit delayed due to sudden surge of orders. Some dishes on the menu were rather unique like Eggs Benedict with crab instead of usual Canadian Bacon. I ordered it and was delicious. Prices were reasonable."

  • "Overall we had a very nice dinner but I felt extremely rushed by our waiter. He was prompt and provided good explanation of the menu but I could tell when he took our order and he explained the timing of the appetizers, salads and meal, we could be out of there in less than 30 minutes. We were NOT in a hurry, had no place to get to and just wanted a relaxing dinner. It was not like we were an early seating and they needed the table. We had an 8:15 reservation and showed up early. I even tried to tell him that but I guess he did not comprehend as our salads came after our appetizers and before we had time to finsih the salads, our entrees were delivered. We boxed 1/2 our salads so we could enjoy our entrees before they got cold."

  • "This was our second visit to Winewood, The first was for brunch and the food was so delicious we knew we had to come back! Our daughter wanted us to meet her future husbands family and right away we thought this was the perfect spot. It turned out not so perfect on a Wednesday night recently. There doesn't seem to be a quiet area in the restaurant for dining and conversation although we do appreciate the mgmt. for trying to accommodate us. Note: WE were unable to fill in 'comments' to the restaurant."

  • "The server was outstanding. The restaurant was very loud, but had nice ambiance. I was expecting great food, but overall it was just okay . I've had much better food at places with a less expensive menu and not as great a setup. Stay away from the creamed corn and the trout entrée. You will be greatly disappointed. However, the wine and the bread pudding were amazing. Although I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to a friend for dinner, if one decided to try it, I'd say stick with the wine and dessert."

  • "This was a brunch for fun and it exceeded every expectation we had. The Winewood Eggs Benedict and the Crab Eggs Benedict were perfection on a plate. The ombiance resembled a Frank Lloyd Wright home. The staff was second to none. Our server, Brian, is one of the most helpful and informative servers we have experienced. We have dined at many fine dinning resturants and have met very few servers that enjoy their job as much as Brian. We will be back."

  • "Had a fantastic evening. Made reservations for our anniversary and they really made the evening special. Complimentary flute of Champagne and the wait staff was very attentative. The rack of lamb was fantastic."

  • "Deserts are to die for. I have had about 7 entrees now and they are all impeccable. Not great kids menu - dont really want a kids menu because i dont care for pizza, cheese and fried chicken for my little ones but they dont offer small portions for kids of anything other than some pasta they can whip up. I decided to get the roasted chicken and they split it on two plates for me. Still a little hight at 10.00 per kiddo (we added a second side for some veggies)."

  • "We loved it! Great entrees, dessert was great, and the server was wonderful. The dim lighting made it feel very comfortable and fun. We will definitely be back next time we're in town!"

  • "The restaurant has a cozy feel to it. The menu choices were good. However, we all agreed the food was just average. The service was good. Overall we enjoyed our dinner."

  • "I visited Winewood while visiting family in Grapevine. It has an attractive facility, with excellent food and service. Ron was helpful and suggested a fillet with scallops special that was delicious. They did not have the wine I ordered in stock, and substituted another that was equally good. I would definitely go there again."

  • "This is one of our "go to" places for weekends. Food is always very good and consistent. We often eat fish and it's never over cooked which is something we are very particular about! Nice atmosphere and always good service. Nice to be able to make reservations too!"

  • "service level outstanding; attentive without hovering. food choices many and varied and perfectly prepared. my only quibble and it is minor, it is a bit noisy"

  • "I took the wife here on our first date after our baby was born. It was a great place. The food was terrific and the service excellent."

  • "This place reminds me of Houstons without the attitude. Great food. Diverse menu. Everything tasted great. Will be back. We went on a Wed night and there was live music and the noise level was a little hard for soft speaking guests but we enjoyed ourselves. The desert menu is fab! Must have the bread pudding! I love cinnamon and this was superb!"

  • "Seemed a bit pricey for the actual value received, but otherwise a good find for the area. Outstanding and knowledgeable waiter. Would definitely return if in the area again, but only here for a conference this week."

  • "Winewood is our favorite lunch spot with friends, with an enjoyable atmosphere, excellent food made with fresh, vibrant flavors and ingredients, and nice wine selection. Love the dark wood and stone interior, and the fireplace in the entry area. It can get noisy at lunchtime, but that's true of all restaurants. I always order the grilled salmon and asparagus, and although it's delicious, it's a rather small portion and I find myself wishing I had something else to go with it, such as rice pilaf. I highly recommend the bread pudding - it is really a great dessert!"

  • "The food was very good and the service was good, but the waiter kept forgetting parts of our order. He forgot one of the vegatables, he forgot the kids ice cream for desert. The atmosphere was quite loud with the tv sets on in the patio area where we had a party of 9 people. Prices were a tad high but the service was good and the food was very good. Overall not a place i would consider for every day dining for my pocket book but a nice place with very good food and good service."

  • "I have been to Wine Wood twice in the last week. The food quality is excellent and delicious. The waiter was very knowledgeable about the wine list and made an excellent recommendation. Also on Sunday nights if your bottle of wine is less than $100 it is half price. I highly recommend this place. You won't be disappointed. The Tenderloin Bruschetta is to die for. I had the Sea Bass for my main course and it also was delicious."

  • "We were very happy with the outdoor seating although there was a breeze blowing between the temporary glass the stone column. It was February after all. We just moved our table over a little and solved that issue. Food was very good. I have been to Winewood on 3 occasions and have been very satisfied on each visit. I will be back."

  • "Went for Valentines dinner. All staff members were extremely courteous, service was great and wait staff made us feel like we could take our time. Other restaurants in the past wanted you in and out so they could load up the table again ."

  • "Menu is limited and service is spotty on a good evening."

  • "I have eaten here for lunch and it was really good. For dinner it was tough finding something. I ended up going with the roasted chicken, which was good but not great. For $14, I expected more. I will go back for lunch for a special occasion, but not for dinner. There are too many other $$$ restaurants nearby that have better menu selections."

  • "This was our thrid time to dine at Winewood and it was disappointing compared to prior experiences. We were seated at a table that was obviously an after thought stuffed in the corner of the patio area and not within eyesight of the wait staff. As a result, our waiter seemed to have forgotten about us leading me to going to the bar to get our own drinks. We had an issue with a margarita in that the bartender apparently didn't put any tequila in the drink... it was all mix and ice. Our previous experiences at Winewood and the attention to detail they portrayed in the past is what led us back this third time. We were disappointed to see the drop in service level and dining experience."

  • "Place is very nice; design and looks are great. Food was excellent. Surf and turf was amazing; one of the best meals I ever ate. Was more noisey than we liked; but the place was full. Will be back."
