  • "Cozy inside and welcomely outside. Portions are big and food is delicious )) Since I drink only French, a decent wine list is very important for me. Not only they have a big selection of French champaign, but also they have SEVERAL varieties of SMALL bottles , which is very rare to find in a place where food is under 20$. Moreover, they have a small bottle of Demi sec ;) I would definitely recommend this place for lunch and dinner."

  • "Went to the Wine Cellar for dinner to celebrate my birthday. We chose to sit inside because it was starting to get chilly. We had a nice table near the bar. Our waiter Tim F was great. He was very attentive and made good recommendations. We had the Soy-glazed Salmon, Ahi Tuna and Fisherman's pasta. They were all very delicious. The portions are huge including the dessert. Three of us shared the Pumpkin Bread Pudding and we could not finish all of it even if it was absolutely delicious. I was also given a chocolate sundae with a candle on it for my birthday. It was simply a wonderful dinner. We will definately go there for brunch so we can sit outside next time."

  • "The 'Wine Cellar' is our favorite place to eat in Los Gatos. We mostly go for lunch and usually have the 'fish and chips'. The 'sand dabs are so lite and tasty! We had friends visiting from Monterey so the 'Wine Cellar" was the choice for dinner. It was a beautiful evening, we had an early reservation so had our choice of outdoor seating - very relaxing. The staff, as always, we're very pleasant, helpful, and attentive. Our selections from the menu were 'sea bass', short ribs, and two of us had the pear salad. We of course had to finish off with a delicious 'creme brûlée' We will soon be back!"

  • "Loved this restaurant!! Everything started off really well. Unfortunately, our waiter's shift ended and he handed us off to his backup. Service dropped to zero at that point! We had been receiving attention and very good service, but suddenly, everything stopped. The backup had very little energy, and was just going through the motions. We waited 15 minutes for dessert and coffee. OVerall, the food was outstanding, and the only downside for the evening was the service hand-off"

  • "We've been going to the Wine Cellar for over 20 years. To me, it's gotten even better. The venue has been updated and the food has never grown stale. It's a great place for great food. I would recommend the Justin Cabernet and the Chicken Marsala, though my husband loved the filet."

  • "My wife and I had been thinking about visiting the Wine Cellar for a while and finally made it out there. When we entered, the place looked nice/promising. After we were seated, we waited for 20 minutes for any server to acknowledge us. We noticed a few other parties come in and were acknowledged well before us. At this point we got up and left. I expressed my frustration with the manager on my way out. I called the manager the next day to explain why I felt service was so poor and that I hope she can correct the situation for future guests. She apologized and assured me that it was a breakdown in their process. Given her sincerity, I am willing to give them another chance. Until then, I cannot recommend this restaurant."

  • "The patrons visiting this restaurant had on baseball caps, shorts, running shoes, flip-flops and contributed to the extremely loud conversations that could be heard throughout the restaurant. We were not sitting outside on their patio. One of the hostess was wearing open-toed sandals, totally not appropriate for a supposedly fine dining establishment. If this was a beach-side, extremely casual restaurant, then those shoes would be appropriate. And the seating leads a lot to be desired. The service was below standard. Our waiter was friendly but the bus boys didn't clear plates and with one entree we were sharing, we received no plates, we had to use our bread plates. Our dishes all tasted the same and were just average and overpriced."

  • "We enjoyed our first visit to the Wine Cellar. The ambience is okay but certainly nothing special. The food was all good but for the price it should be exceptional. It is not. If money is no object, the Wine Cellar may be a good choice. But for the price I can find many places I would prefer. As an additional note: We ordered two dinners and I ordered a salad. The waiter made sure to ask if we were splitting the salad to see if he could charge a splitting fee. I understand a fee for splitting a dinner but for splitting a salad that is ridiculous. Again, overall the food is good but the only thing exceptional are the prices. Based on the location is seems there are enough people who don't mind. Enjoy."

  • "Given the reviews, I was expecting a bit more. Service was spotty - wasn't asked for a drink order before the main order, but then felt rushed with the sequencing of apps and mains. I had the dry-age rib eye - didn't taste much of the bbq sauce and had little bacon on it. The mashed potatoes were tasty. My wife's salmon was ok - but for the price we expected a bit better than 'ok'."

  • "When I made the reservation, I requested a quiet booth or table. We were seated in a nice secluded booth which was enjoyable until the hostess sat a couple right next to us. There was a whole section of at least 8 tables right in front of us that were empty. Needless to say, we had to spend the rest of our dining experience listening to the loud couple next to us. The restaurant was obviously not that busy that Wednesday evening. I can't understand why that couple had to be seated right next of us , where my husband actually was facing the couple and had no choice to look straight at them. The tables were about 2 feet apart. This was a very unfortunate choice on the part of the hostess."
