Diner Reviews
  • "We were a large group of high school friends. We were provided a semi-private room that was perfect. The food was excellent. At an earlier visit, they had accommodated our 3-year old granddaughter with a cheese and fruit plate for her that was perfect."

  • "We normally love this palce... But the service was poor this time, very long wait for food... Lack of wine fill after we finished the first glass... Food was great and atmosphere was better."

  • "The place is very noisy and hard to converse but the good is good and the desert with drowned cherries is great!"

  • "The food was great but the place was so loud inside you could barely carry on a conversation."

  • "Looking forward to a return visit. Wait staff was very personal. Excellent service."

  • "We were in Westerville for a family gathering and chose Wine Bistro because of its proximity to where we were staying. There were no reviews online for this particular site, there are several Wine Bistros in Worthington, Columbus, etc.. the reviews for those places were good. The food was very good. I had grilled salmon on a bed of arugula. The deserts were yummy. We had to wait for one of the entrees for several minutes, but other than that the service was outstanding. I had a flight of wines from South America, very good. We ate outside and even though it was next to the parking lot, it was very pleasant. The food and wine were excellent! Service was superior."

  • "I took 5 friends for a Ladies Night Out. We had a great time and will definetly go again. I really liked the fact it was close to home and we did not have to fight the traffics to get there. I was also surprised at the quality of the house wine. Love the small plates, perfect for ladies with a glass of wine."

  • "Food average on night of our visit. My crab cakes were good albeit a little spicy for most (I like spicy). My wife's chicken masala was average and the risotto was undercooked. When brought to attention of our server and after visiting the kitchen she offered to redo the risotto or a complementary desert. We declined both. Our friends ordered a bottle of Chardonnay, however, it took a long time to wait for a drink as the wine had to be chilled. On first try, it was still warm and had to be chilled again. Makes it a problem to order a bottle to accompany dinner from the great selection available."

  • "Menu isn't extensive, but thought my entree salad was very good and appetizers good as well. Not so kid friendly and even the adults who had pasta said it was fairly bland. Outdoor patio looks fun and inside very nice for casual drinks with friends. Would have liked more hoopla over wine selections or features. I'd go back, but not for a family special occasion like we did."

  • "Our drinks were good but we were disappointed in all 3 food/menu items ordered."

  • "We had a great evening out with the in-laws. Wine selection hit our tastes perfectly ("butter" chardonnay) and the food was wonderful."

  • "Excellent flatbreads. A wine for any taste. You could easily spend an hour walking around looking at all the wine bottles. "

  • "Food was just decent. Service was decent. Beautiful decor."

  • "I felt it was a little pricey for the food quality and wines by the glass- big on presentation, but quality and portions are lacking....."

  • "Great place to have our first girls night out with neighbors getting to know each other. We could talk easily, enjoy good food, wine and a nice atmosphere. We'll be back!"

  • "I met a friend for lunch. We split the devious chicken pesto flatbread. We each had a salad with walnuts an blue cheese! It was outstanding! Delicious !!"

  • "This was our second time at this location. The salad was outstanding as was the lobster crab pasta dish. Short ribs were once again a winner--rave reviews. Our red wine flight was just ok--one of the wines tasted like water. Our server was just ok, not attentive and lacked the knowledge and energy of our waiter from the previous visit. It still was a great evening. "

  • "Food was good. Wine by the glass selection was mediocre. Most memorable was the noise level. Couldn't hear myself think let alone what my husband was saying to me. We'll not be going back - too many better options for a wine bar:restaurant."

  • "We had the three cheese fondue for appetizer and it was great! My entree, shrimp and lobster fettuccine was outstanding! "

  • "We were a group of 5 and ordered several small plates, deserts and had several bottles of wine. The service was attentive and friendly and the wine was good. The small plates were mostly good, but the crust on the flatbreads were so tough they couldn't be cut. (The server did not know what to say when we told him that we thought the flatbread crust was not very good.) The cheese often overpowered the other flavors on some of the other items. "

  • "Everything was rather expensive. Our server was not knowable about either the menu or the wines. He only made suggestions when I asked. We ordered a bottle of white wine for the table and it was served only slightly chilled. This was our first experience and found it didn't live up to the reviews. "

  • "I have been to the Westerville Wine Bistro 5 times in the last 10 weeks and loved it 4 out of 5 times. This last time, our flatbread was overdone on the bottom and very difficult to eat. We did report it to our waitress who took it off our bill, but I was taking a friend for her first visit and I would say she was not as impressed as I have been. That being said, I think that the Wine Bistro is about the coolest place I have been to in recent years and I enjoy the menu and the wine selection. Our waiters/waitresses have all been great. Wine Bistro is a fabulous place"

  • "Our first visit to the Wine Bistro. Service was outstanding. Our waitress was knowledgeable and make some excellent suggestions on drinks and dinner. 3 of the 4 had the short ribs and raved about them. The mushroom risotto was voted the best we'd ever eaten. The chicken marsala was excellent. The house salad was delicious as well. We were very happy with our experience and will be back soon."

  • "We went with another couple, and the husbands had not been there before. We all enjoyed it, our wait person was great, helped to pick a good cab to celebrate a birthday. I always order the Juliette, it is so good. A little loud, but being in the back room, wasn't too bad. We all enjoyed our dinners and desserts. My Creme brûlée was awesome! Great addition to Westerville. "

  • "Lighting was so poor I could not read the menu. We had to speak loudly to be heard at our table. Food was goo and wine list amazing."

  • "We ordered the short rib and the shrimp and lobster fettuccine. The carrots were not cooked that came with the short rib, and had to be replaced. While there were 4 shrimp with the fettuccine, the lobster was only a few very small pieces, not enough to qualify. I ordered the Vive La France flight of whites, and the Perlade was flat. Even when I asked it to be a fresh glass, it was still flat. Can't say we would hurry back"

  • "Just visited on a Saturday night, with a reservation, and ran into friends. Great service, and the food and wine were terrific. Great local hangout"

  • "We had heard good remarks about Wine Bistro, so we were excited about going. Out of 4 complete meals with appetizers, wine & entrees, all any of us liked was the French onion soup. The rest was terrible. We were charged $8 extra to open our bottle of wine we bought for dinner. Very very expensive for a terribly disappointing experience 😞"

  • "I've been to the Wine Bistro in Westerville three times for lunch and twice for dinner since it opened. It's a real addition to the Westerville dining scene with many great options for lighter meals (flatbreads, great soups, paninis, and specials). The wine selection is large and varied as would be expected. Service (other than not letting Open Table that I appeared for my last reservation) has been enthusiatic and competent. The atmosphere is charming. For a vegetarian such as myself, there are many delicious options. They also have a large outdoor patio area that will certainly be busy in the warm months. I'll be back regularly. Highly recommended."

  • "The restaurant has a fabulous private area in the back where we were seated for a girl's birthday lunch, very nice! We celebrate our friend's birthdays each month and it's nice to have a private area. The food choices were many & quite tasty."

  • "Atmosphere and Service was great. Food was also very good, but portions were small for the price. Suggest either reducing the prices or increasing the portions. Really enjoyed the wine flights. "

  • "Short North comes to Westerville. Excellent wine and food selection. Pleasant staff. The rustic ceiling panels and hardwood floors create a noisy environment so one has to speak loudly. Fun for groups. Great seating/experience at the bar or behind the room divider for more intimate settings. "

  • "Went on a midweek night , hear busy at weekends. Food was fab just the right amount and priced well. A meal for 4 starters, with two bottles of wine $120 think that was great. Every one was friendly but not the over kill you some times get, the service pace is laid back so if your in a rush ( we wasn't ) you would have to say so. Will be going back a lot, that should some it up ."

  • "You know how some restaurants serve you a mediocre meal but save it with a great dessert? The Wine Bistro in Westerville was just the opposite. The Baked Brie was fantastic. Same for the veal meatball, linguine with shrimp and lobster, and the crab cakes. In comparison, the limited dessert menu seemed like an afterthought. My recommendation would be to expand the offerings by one or two. Suggestions: poached pear, cherries jubilee, baked Alaska, mini cookie flight or a couple of Jeni's ice creams."

  • "A belated birthday dinner with a good friend was fun and the food was good (not outstanding, but good!). The trouble was, she was getting over laryngitis and the room was so loud we could barely hear each other (she had trouble hearing me as well)."
