The appetizer was great, but our main course was definitely not -- the pork was overdone and impossible to cut into, and lacked any real taste. The creme brulee was burnt, and really shouldn't have come out to the table. Somebody wasn't doing their job. The food prices are reasonable but I think the wine list is focused on more upper-end offerings and it felt unbalanced. The atmosphere was nice, although the music a little out of place (Techno, electronic feel). The service was okay, although we didn't get the direction I asked for in regards to food and wine choices. In the end it was a disappointing dinner out for my Husband's birthday. We won't be back."

As the busy got busier at the night you could tell they were a little short staffed however, i think the servers and everyone did their best to make it as best as could be so A for effort.   • "This was a Winterlicious first. The food presentation was amazing. Portions were small but very tasty. A very nice variety! The seating was very close but I am not sure if this was due to Winterlicious or normally like this. This was our first time at this restaurant. Service was outstanding! The lighting was dimmed and it was difficult to read the menus but we managed. Great variety of wines and we enjoyed the Smokehouse Stout."

  • "Upon arrival, I told them that we made a reservation through Open Table. They said that they couldn't find it and that they were going to be full but offered us a seat at the bar. I was adamant that I had a confirmed reservation, so the manager came out and found me on the list on the right day! We began ordering and had our first appetizer but no wine arrived as the waiter had forgot! While ordering, there were many exceptions to the menu which made it difficult to select. We left at that time feeling totally ignored and unappreciated as customers. They all apologized but it was too late. We walked to another place down the street which was such a contrast in service that we were so thankful that we left."

  • "Nice atmosphere, but the food and the service are uninspired. We went for a three course dinner for Winterlicious, and the portions were very small. I am a small female and I left the restaurant hungry. The choice between purchasing an additional entree or leaving hungry was one I didn't expect to have to make. Our server, while pleasant, was very slow and seemed to forget about us on several occasions, even forgetting to replace cutlery between courses. Another server brought food to the table next to us, saying "is this stuff for you? I don't know where I am going with this." Not the level of service you expect at a restaurant billing itself as refined. Sadly, they also served child-sized portions of merely adequate food."

  • "I usually love wine bars, but for the price, the food was mediocre at best. The server was very fake and did not try to make our dining experience a good one. The first wine we chose was bad and the server was angered at us not liking it but for 70$, i'd like to be able to make that choice. He messed up the order twice, although we didn't mention it. The "Quebec Brie" was actually just mozzarella balls. Not worth the price"

We chose from a great menu - Canadian produce and foods shopped daily by the chef to create some unique and tasty sharing portions. Variety is the key, which is why we regularly visit Wine Bar. Our meal did not disappoint - warm seafood chowder was a hit on the recent cold night we visited; a marinated flank stank along with lobster mac and cheese were the highlight, as were the seared scallops. We chose a bottle of Ripasso to complement everything, followed by shared chocolate truffles. An excellent evening and of course, we'll be back."

  • "I really liked the food, even do we where in 4 and we choose to get several (11) dishes they brought us all the portions with 3 pieces, I found that was very stupid, specially for the dessert of truffles (3mini truffles instead of 4) we asked to pay for the extra one because it was just ridiculous that they didn't even think about it, after a while the waiter got back with 1 more saying it was on the house, there was not much people on a Friday night just a few tables, perhaps because the service (it took a bit for every dish to arrive) and human touch really need an improvement. Anyway if you re not in a rush and don't mind the service, i have to say the food was really good."

  • "I recently went to Wine Bar with a group of friends for dinner. We were told that the menu was all tapas style to encourage sharing, not a problem, love tapas. Ordered a variety of different "dishes"... Wings.. $12, for TWO. Scallops, $16, for two small scallops, seared, and laid on top of beets. I thought the place was reasonably priced looking at the menu online, but the portion sizes are microscopic. I have no problem spending money on high-quality gourmet dishes cooked by a talented chef, but this was ridiculous. The Lobster Mac & Cheese was tasteless, the scallops average. The only thing worth eating over the entire dinner was the cheese plate, and it's not like that takes prep. We will not be returning."

  • "I'd walked by this place a dozen times and never noticed it. After finding it on Open Table this past week and dining there on Friday night, I can say that I'll never look past Wine Bar again. The service was great. Our waiter had excellent character and took great care of us. He had great recommendations and made us feel at home. The location was subtle yet tasteful. The wine bottle-wrapped wall and exposed brick made for great ambience. The food was some of the most delicious we've had in a while. Even the drinks (a Caesar and a Pimm's & Ginger) was top notch. Don't leave without trying the Brie Phyllo. Wow! Best of all, including a drink and several tapas, we spent around $65 total for the two of us. We will be back!"

  • "I found this restaurant on Open Table. After looking at the menu and some pics of the place, I decided to check it out with a friend. When we were arrived we were immediately greeted with a warm welcome and promptly seated. The restaurant is small but seats a good number of people. There a bar and an open kitchen that you can sit in front of and watch meals being prepared. The noise level is energetic, but you can still here the music, and hold a conversation with those sitting with you. My friend and I had almost everything on the menu during our evening. They've done a good job with combining flavours and presenting it very well. I don't think any of you would be disappointed with this restaurant. Enjoy."

The food is very well prepared, truly flavorful and well presented, however the portion/cost ratio startles even the most devoted foodie. Frankly a small crostini with a smear of cheese & razor thin slice of sausage should never cost $3.00. Sound petty? We burst out laughing immediately after the server placed it on our table. It almost looked forlorn, by its lonesome. frankly, I hate having to buy 2 orders of fries to fill us up, and after we hit the $200.00 mark we figured, there must be slice of pizza somewhere in the Market with our names written upon it. if you have money to literally burn,,,, go for it!"

  • "I hesitated before choosing The Wine Bar because some reviews were bad. But I was pleasantly surprised to find great food at a reasanable price. The service was also great. My mother, who complains a lot, told the waitress that other than one small thing it was all great. The waitress came back with another plate of the same tapas but with a different swing to it. This time, my mother couldn't complain at all. Don't rely on the other bad reviews. I've been to tapas restauranss in Montreal, California, New York and Europe. The size of the portions are like any other tapas restaurant."

  • "The Wine Bar was recommended by a co-worker. I've read other reviews regards to portion sizes etc. But remember it's a Tapas Restaurant, so the sizes will be small. The food is very flavourful! 4 of us dined and ate to our hearts content for just under $150. The prices are reasonable don't let any other review tell you it's not. You are getting what you paid for. Wait staff was great and knowledgeable on the food they were serving. This will definitely be a place I will visit again."

  • "Very nice ambiance with the wood, glass and wine bottles along the walls. Food was tasty and nicely presented, but portions were extremely small. Too small, even for a wine bar. Service was mediocre at best. I was not impressed when I asked the server what Chianti they had open (meaning what name/winery) and her response was "an Italian Chianti". Ridiculous answer from an impatient server who didn't seem to want to be there. I will not be back."

  • "I had summericious dinner at the Wine Bar on last Saturday night. Wine that we picked was great but except that food was really awful. I was so disapointed at their dishes. Overall we paid $100 for 2 people including two glasses of 5oz wine. I don't think it was worth it. I don't think i'll visit the Wine bar again unless they hire new chef which can make great dishes that worth the price... Of course I'm not going to recommend the Wine bar to my freinds or co-workers. I'll tell them not to go...."

  • "For me the best way to get the most out of eating at wine bar is enjoying the recommended wines with each course. This really enhances the flavour and the experience is very complete - and as intended! This makes for a really great meal, especially dessert! A full meal enjoyed this way will be much more like $50-75 per person after tax+tip (not the $35 I see mentioned some places). I've also found there are usually enough items on the menu to satisfy a vegetarian, without a lot of choice however, but probably not a vegan as various excellent cheeses are featured throughout the menu. A warning... some of the plates are very small and leave you wanting more."
