Diner Reviews
  • "I went here for my boyfriends birthday. I had added a comment in my open table reservation that I would like a certain type of champagne ready at out table when we arrived, which they did. The service was great, the appetizers with odd ingredients were worth the try (the spicy beef lollipops and goat cheese bruschetta) and the wine list is extensive. My only complaint is the mushroom ravioli. It was absolutely terrible. Even the presentation made you second guess cutting into the meal. If you're looking at the menu and considering it, just don't. My boyfriend however ordered the hanger steak and his plate was clean by the end of the meal."

  • "been to wine 30 twice, once with a group of girls and once with my husband. the food was a lot better when I was with the girls.it's because we only ordered appetizers cheese and dips. Totally worth going here if you want to eat small bites of a variety of items and drink a lot of wine. It's quite reasonable to! For 3 bottles of wine and 6 appetizers we all paid 50 a head amongst the 6 of us. when I visited here with my husband, we ordered entrees and they were very low on flavor . The chicken and ribs both didn't have any taste. The ribs were way too well done and has lost all their juiciness. place is very close to my apartment , so we will definitely come here again, however will come here in a group and order only appetizers and cheese"

  • "Nice atmosphere, young people, but a bit noisy. Very good food, the braised short rib was great."

  • "Wine 30 is one of those places, you don't need a reason to go. Weekend, weekday, any day... It's the perfect spot to digress over an amazing glass of wine and good food. The staff is very friendly too. I love this place."

  • "Met up with my college girlfriends at Wine 30. We enjoyed the ability to split lots of little plates, our waitress was knowledgable and offered great suggestions. The noise level was just right for catching up. We will definitely go back."

  • "What a great little spot. Amazing food and a perfect wine list to boot. Perfect for a cosy romantic evening, a drink with some girlfriends or a dinner with the parents. I just loved it!"

  • "Went for Valentines day dinner. Had a prix fixe menu for $75 which would normally be high but not bad for valentines day. Food and service were solid. We ate in wine cellar which was great. Tables were small and cramped but that was ok. Definitely would go back again and recommend to a friend."

  • "As the name implies, Wine 30is primarily about the wine list, 30 of which are always offered by the glass. Located on 30th between Madison and Park, walking through the front door delivers you into a long narrow room dominated by the bar and a few 2 tops for sitting and enjoying wine. If you keep walking back, you enter the small squarish dining room with some outside soace and downstairs wine rooms for private parties. Food was good, both cold and hot small plates designed for enjoying with wine. The staff was only marginally wine lnowlegable, but adequate and friendly. A bit pricey, my Barbaresco was $115 a bottle, retails for $57. Nice place to stop in for a glass in a great neighborhood"

  • "Many places that you dine at in Manhattan are tiny with tables very close together. This spot is the same but I didn't care once we were lucky to eat in the wine cellar. It was so "cool" to eat down there with all the wines that range in age and price. Our waiter and all of the severs were witty and very familiar with the menu and the wine. I loved it ! It made my weekend very romantic and the food was sublime."

  • "We have gone to brunch here twice in the last month. It seems funny to tell a friend to meet you at Wine:30 for brunch but they have a wonderful brunch. Food is spectacular. Service is awesome. We have only gone in the winter but you can see the outside (behind restaurant) seating and we cant wait to go when Spring comes. What a great little spot!"

  • "We were in the city looking for a wine bar to have a few drinks for dinner. Such a great find! Felt more like a neighborhood wine bar even though I think it is a chain. Super nice staff and had a wonderful time. A few appetizers and tried two different wines - all very good. Highly recommend and look forward to returning on our next trip!"

  • "The food was really lovely, the only bummer was that we were sitting in the back next to the garden, which was pretty cold-it is December. The door kept opening and closing as things were stored back there and some people were sitting there. I think its normally heated, so this might not be a pervasive issue, just worth checking before you settle into a spot."

  • "First-time visitor, what a find! :) Service was warm and efficient, encouraging comfort and casual atmosphere. Amazing selection of tapas, one better than the next. From creative Bruschetta to tasty Lollipops, with grilled shrimp in between, it was a treat to dine al fresco with heat lamps and prompt attention to all our needs. Will definitely be returning to the neighborhood gem!"

  • "We waited over an hour for our food and when it arrived, it was sub-par at best. The owner/manager's explanation on the delay was that we added 2 people to our party at the last minute. If they couldn't accommodate us, they should have said as much. Not to mention that the customer is always right."

  • "I used to live in this area, and this is one of the few places I'd venture back for. The atmosphere is fantastic, exceptional wine list (i didn't love the bottle we had this time, but that's my own fault), and food perfect for soaking up that 3rd glass or making a dinner night out of it. Really nice selection of wines by the glass, too (helped to clear off the "miss" of our dinner bottle). The server never rushed us and let us take our time through food and drink selection, dinner, and the apres. Really nice experience. If you're picky about tables close together or being able to hear your neighbors' conversation, probably not the place for you. Otherwise, highly recommend."

  • "A party of 9 italian people: reservation time was perfect. Friendly and very good dinner. Excellent presentation of dishes and beef very very good. It was first time in Wine 30 for me and probably I'll come back when I'be in NY next time. Only a little disappointment: service was slow"

  • "We enjoyed our dinner at Wine:30. Food was nicely prepared, nice choices and service was friendly but not overbearing. The hangar steak I ordered hit the spot. We were staying on 36th between 5th and 7th so it was easy walking distance back to our hotel."

  • "Great foo, incredible wine list. The garden is heated with heat lamps so even on a chilly night it was comfy. The cork room has tiny tables too close to each other. But this is definitely a happening place for the hip after-work crowd."

  • "Wine:30 has become a midtown go-to, without the hustle of midtown. Perfect to catch up with an old friend, or celebrate with a group. I've been coming here for years, and it continues to be among my favorites."

  • "The addition of a bit of goat cheese and other seasoning makes this a taste sensation for meat lovers. Thick and tender pieces of steak. Loved it."

  • "We booked this speculatively for our first night in NYC as it was very near our hotel and we were tired. It turned out to be a pretty decent neighbourhood restaurant but I wouldn't travel very far to eat here. All the food was had was fine, but nothing special, and service was a little haphazard (why ask what kind of water you want and then ignore the answer, for example?). One hilarious example: my son asked what kind of mustard one of the dishes came with (meaning English or French, really) - the waitress answered, "Yellow". Go figure."

  • "Came upon Wine:30 for a quick dinner and drinks. Reservations didn't seem necessary because it's in Midtown and seemed to have a relatively light evening (Tuesday). The food was prompt and tasty. The menu didn't seem to have too much variety, but it was perfect finger food that was filling and the ambience was great. Our servers were impeccable and funny. I look forward to going back for another fun meal with a friend."

  • "Went here with 6 folks & we we're put in the cellar which is much quieter and les crowded than rest of place. Lots of great wine on display & for sale. Had Barolo, Pinot & Amarone all of which we're excellent & reasonably priced ( $60-80). Nice cheese plate, tasty bruschetta and good hanger steak. Everyone liked the food. They had a lively crowd in front and cool area out back but for us it was the cellar, it's I quiet, service was more personal, and you can check out the bottles. Definitely would go back."

  • "Most of what we ordered was very good but the mushroom ravioli was disappointing. Service was friendly but a little on the slower side. Wine list was very broad without being overly pricey. We were seated in the cute open-air back patio area which had a nice ambience. Overall good, bordering on very good, I would like to go back to try it again."

  • "Unfortunately, it was 99 degrees outside, meaning we couldn't sit in the garden - but the food was excellent and it was good value for the money. I'll go back again."
