Diner Reviews
  • "The crabapple pie of friday night, august 22, was a highlight. Just the sight of the mounded fresh pie on the counter was thrilling. We "reserved" our pie right off the bat for fear that it would be gone by the time we got to ordering dessert. Outstanding crust! Exquisitely spiced filling! The pastry chef came to our table to answer our questions about the pastry. "So, you like my grandmother's pie recipe!" she beamed. She even offered a few secrets to the pastry's success, but I'm not gonna tell...It's a pricey piece of pie, but comes with ice cream and is big enough to share."

  • "Portions are small, high priced. Bland food. Menu does not explain dishes so you have to ask lot of questions to unexperienced and rude waiters. We a party of 6, all our food was flavourless and boring. Poorly served. "Main dishes" came before appetizers. Orders were not brought to the table at the same time. Some of us had to wait 15 minutes while some had already been served! Don't waste your money!!!"

  • "I started out with a freshly squeezed lychee and pear juice...amazing! I would never have had it but it was recommended by the waiter! Good call. I moved to a rice dish with lamb and beef over perfectly cooked organic brown rice. (I forgot the name). It was deliciously spicy with a lovely bite but not for the bland lovers. I thought of it as Asia's answer to our chilli, but tastier. It was topped with a beautiful amber fried egg and some veg. Over all...nummy, great service and at amazingly reasonable prices. I plan on going back with friends!"

  • "Great experience, good food. Only negative, portion sizes are small thus making the value rating low."

  • "Although the food was OK the servers did not know what they were doing. Our orders got mixed up (we ordered two eggs breakfast with bacon - got sausage (which was under-cooked) instead; also ordered a side of bacon that never came; also ordered nutela waffles with strawberries instead of bananas waffles came without any fruit)"

  • "Fantastic food! You can't go wrong with this place something delicious for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. The ambience was also fantastic. If you appreciate a restaurant with great food AND where you don't have to yell to hear the person next to you this is the place for you."

  • "We went to Windup Bird Cafe as we knew they had recently opened a couple of months ago. The service was good initially, but the waitress was busy talking to other guests later in our meal, so it was more difficult to get our bill and get water for our glasses. We were impressed with the taste of our dishes: we loved the tofu avocado starter and salad starter. The beef tenderloin was okay for me, but everyone else enjoyed the pot du roi and chicken. The food tasted very fresh. The only drawback was the portion size. For a party of 4, we spend over $140 + tip, but based on how much we paid, we weren't completely full and we had to go to another restaurant to get some extra grub."
