A word from Windsor-NYC
Combining upscale American bar classics with Europe’s spirited social sensibility, The Windsor is a welcoming neighborhood venue for relaxed drinking and dining situated in the heart of New York’s West Village. Attracting both a local and international crowd with its smart, casual ambiance, the restaurant offers lunch, brunch, dinner, and bar service, including specialty cocktails, exotic bottled beers, premium spirits and fine coffees. The décor is handsome and inviting with dark gray pin stripe cloth on the walls and worn leather burgundy booths. From noon until night, it’s an ideal spot to take in games and sporting events, as each booth in the restaurant is equipped with its own flat screen, high definition television. While graciously serving the great and the good in this charming neighborhood location, The Windsor prides itself on offering stylishly hearty American fare in a rightly unpretentious yet refined atmosphere.Continued

  • "Restaurant should not make reservations as they don't actually reserve tables. We wanted an 8:30 spot but couldn't get one until 9:30. When we arrived, it was literally SRO, and they couldn't find a place for us, so we went elsewhere."

  • "The food was surprisingly amazing, especially because I expected typical bar fare. It gets very crowded but thanks to opentable we got a great table. The only downside was that it took about 15 mins to get a menu. The host sat us and the waiter completely forgot about us! He was pretty overwhelmed with the crowd but felt bad that he forgot about us and was very attentive for the rest of the night."

  • "This is a perfect spot for football Sunday (if you can fit through the door). It really starts to pick up at 1pm, so if you can make an advanced reservation, you'll have a good time (though it is LOUD - I was basically screaming at the person sitting right next to me)! If not, you can try your luck as a walk-in so you have an idea, but standing room only is an understatement. First visit I had the breakfast sandwich which was just ok (scrambled eggs when expecting sunny side up or over easy - not a big deal); second visit I went later in the afternoon and had the turkey burger and herbed fries which were both delicious - recommended! Looking forward to trying their other food & beer/cocktail options and watching more football!"

  • "Staff were lovely. Went for lunch and the food was creative, the drink special was very nice. Egg white frittat was botring, but the salmon pizza and truffle grilled cheese were excellent."

  • "Despite some not so great reviews that I read, we had a great dinner. It was great having out own personal tv with the game on! The food and service were great!! We will be back again soon!!"

  • "I have an apartment 2 blocks from this place, and had been here several times and thought of it as fun (always beyond-packed) sports bar. I was surprised to even see it on opentable. Finally ate here with a buddy on a fairly sleepy Sunday night. The food was great, and the servers were very cool."

  • "We were placed at the table next to the front door, when there was obviously an open table in the back. The bar area was so packed I was constantly bumped by people waiting to get a seat or a drink. The food was good but the manager was not very helpful when we asked to move tables. Overall mediocre experience and don't see myself returning."

  • "Cozy neighborhood joint. Locals and touristas choose from a basic, but tasty menu. Turkey burger juicy and flavorful. Staff a bit out of it during our stay."

  • "A little over priced for a "sports bar" but overall it was great place. I would definitely go back."

  • "This place is great. The West Village had long been missing a cleaned up bar for adults that watch sports. Add in great food, friendly staff, and you have a serious win."

  • "My friend and I were the only ones in the place, which made it a bit creepy. The waist staff hovered too much, and the food was ordinary. I would not go back."

  • "It's a cool w village haunt ... good bar scene, good service w/o being pretentious, good food, cozy/hip, and great music."
