Diner Reviews
  • "We ordered coffee along with desert, but not served until we complained, and finally told that coffee machine has functional problem. Dinner was great taste, but desert without coffee was disappointing. Waited more than 30 minutes."

  • "Once again, Windows came through with a wonderful evening of amazing food, awesome service & a fantastic view to set the mood. Our birthday celebration was enhanced by a visit from the chef. All in all, it was an evening to remember!"

  • "The restaurant was accommodating with last minute changes in our reservations. The food was tasty with creative plating that really impressed our guests. My only complaint was the service. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable with the menu but his timing was off with the serving of our drinks. We ordered sparkling wine to follow with a bottle of red wine. He brought both to the table, the sparkling wine sat in the chiller and the wine on the table, both unopened. Our orders were taken, but the wines were unopened for a long time as we couldn't seem to get his attention. We finally asked a waitress walking by who opened them but was clearly annoyed and made a rude comment."

  • "In general the food did not live up to expectations. Good, but nothing great. Wife ordered Rib eye, but it was more likely sirloin. I have never seen a rib eye shaped, textured or tasting like that before. Views of Niagara Falls are great. Service was terrible. Waited forever for main courses. While we waited went for at least 20 minutes with empty drinks and waiting to order another glass of wine. At one point waiter gave apology for wait, asked if we wanted more bread while we waited. He forgot the bread and the following wine order and then came back later asking if we would like bread! The experience was nothing like hyped up promotion promised."

  • "Food and service did not match the price tag. Flavour was good, beef cut was chewy. Server had limited knowledge of wine list at our expense as we had to pay to taste wine she knew nothing about. She was very friendly but not very accommodating. Ate there because we had a voucher. Would have paid full price for much better experience. Too many great places to eat in niagara and we have certain expectations when spending good money."

  • "The menu was limited but something for everyone. I had the pork chop which was good and my date had the steak which was cooked to perfection. I would have liked more appetizers to choose from. Portions were a good size because I was stuffed. Our server was a lovely and she could answer any questions we had regarding the menu. Thanks for a great dinner"

  • "I was very disappointed in the food. I had the duck with Green Tea Broth and my wife had the salmon. Although the presentation was fun, the broth and noodle combination was tasteless and the duck was slightly "gamey" and overcooked. We ordered plain pasta for my daughter which came with cheese sauce, onions and chives and had to be sent back. The view was beautiful but the overall food experience was poor...the couple next to us also complained about there meal and sent it back. Perhaps it was an off night"

  • "Food was expensive and bland. No oomph . Interesting food ingredients but fell short in final product. Good wine choices but not at affordable prices. Will not go back. Waitress was friendly and polished."

  • "The view was spectacular (winter scene); the service was fantastic; the food was awesome and the wine to die for. Kacaba Cab Franc 2007...in fact the wine was so good, we traveled to the winery the next day and picked up some more!"

  • "For the price you pay to eat here, there should be more variety to the menu. Also, the beer list is quite lacking. Overall though, the food was good and the view was outstanding. It is a bit weird that this is the buffet area in the morning, and it is separated by a cloth divider at night from the dinner buffet, so it doesn't feel quite as special."

  • "Food and ambience were amazing! The only gripe I have was I was charged $18 each for two glasses of wine which was clearly not the price for the house Cabernet of which I ordered."

  • "The food was good although slightly overpriced in my opinion. We felt a little rushed- the waitress never asked if we would like drinks before ordering. She was very anxious to get our food order in. It was a set menu for Valentine's and the restaurant was not overly busy at the time. Other than that we found the staff extremely friendly and the food very good."

  • "Our family of 8 including two children under 12 was great. The service was timely, friendly, and attentive to our needs. Between all of us we tried a sampling of items on the menu and we were all pleased with our choices. Everything was soooo tasty. THe view is spectacular and made it a lovely dining experience."

  • "Ii was looking for something special, intimate, and classy for Valentines day. This was suggested by a friend and as far as I see this place hit it out of the park. We were limited to a few items because of the special menu but everything was perfect. Food was great, presentation was perfect, wine list extensive although they cater to ontario wines and service was impeccable. I will say though I felt like there was not enough veggies, I have 4 pieces of beans and 2 shaved pieces of carrots. Over all, very nice."

  • "Set menu at an excellent price. Dishes well plated. Chicken and steak cooked perfectly. Steak could use more seasoning. Excellent wine pairings. Champane package was exquisite. Quiet with a good view of the American Falls from the 14th floor. Definetly will return."

  • "Service was good. Food was average. Prices were OK. Restaurant was cold by windows which took away a bit from ambiance. Also, noisy and table were very close to each other. Not the romantic setting I expected."

  • "Enjoyed a delicious anniversary dinner while overlooking the Falls, all wrapped up in winter ice. The menu is relatively compact yet offers interesting options to suit everyone. The portion sizes are just right - fine dining without leaving hungry! We will definitely pay a return visit."

  • "From being greeted at the door by the Sommelier-Dining Room Manager (April) to the total experience of the evening it was Spectacular. Our waiter (Terry) was a very pleasant man. The meal right down from the fresh bread to or meals was outstanding. The view was breathtaking!!! At first we were not going to sit by the window as it was -30 outside but when we seen the view we just had too and was so glad we did. It was very comfortable and not cold at all. I would recommended Windows by Jamie Kennedy! We will definitely return. If you are looking for a romantic evening, with an amazing view and fabulous dinning Window by Jamie Kennedy is the place to be!!! ENJOY"

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Windows, the service was excellent and the meals were prepared perfectly. The portion sizes are generous for this type of restaurant so when you go make sure you are hungry. The next time we are in Niagara this place will be a priority."

  • "We booked this winter into the Windows by Jamie Kennedy restaurant as part of the ultimate couples package offered by the Sheraton on the Falls. We had a lovely table by the window for a very nice view overlooking the falls by night. Although I was disappointed that the lobster Bisque was sold out, I had a nice Boston Bibb salad and the special entre which was scallops. My partner had the beet soup and chicken. We both found the food was exceptional and the portions were very good. We very much enjoyed this restaurant and would highly recommend it."

  • "I have traveled to many restaurants such as Gordon Ramsay's London restaurants and Paul Bocuse in France. I don't consider myself a foodie, but I do love great food. The menu was excellent at Jamie Kennedy's and I was really looking forward to it. When my food arrived, the temperature was actually luke warm. I was expecting hot food. Even my steak felt like it had been left and forgotten. I was expecting the flavor combinations to jump out at me as advertised. No such luck. It tasted like any other steak and I didn't even finish it. I can't even describe what was below the steak, it had no flavor at all. Overall, this restaurant had everything going for it: View, amazing staff and service, excellent wine and wonderful menu. Food was only ok"

  • "My wife and I had dinner and breakfast at your restaurant. At dinner the Lamb Shank was bland and ( I assume pelenta) was wattery and bland. My wifes portion size on the whitefish was small and again bland. the desert selection was limited and from a taste perspective uninspirig and small for the price The breakfast featured stale choices and watered down OJ, and diluted coffee. The view was fantastice"

  • "We had a great experience at WIndows. We had a super yummy beet salad and a chicken and duck confit terrine to start, with cocktails. Highly recommend both the Maple Whisky Sour and the Pear cocktail as well, both really well balanced and delicious. For mains, we had the Beef Shortrib, and the Cornish Hen. The shortrib was lovely, but not nearly as vibrant and awesome as the cornish hen. The wine list is very impressive, with a great selection of local and international wines. Since I was driving, we just did by the glass, and had Syrah from Washington and Viognier from Niagara. Not a huge fan of the Viognier, which I found didn't show enough varietal characteristic and was a little too green. To finish, we shared the blueberry cake."

  • "We wanted to like this restaurant but overall we will not go back. The price isn't what bothered us at all, but rather the food wasn't consistently good. The appetizers weren't very good but the main dish was great. We decided not to take a gamble on the desert and didn't get one. The service was fine, not what you would expect for fine dining. If your dinner is billed to your room, you are not given a copy of the receipt. This is fine, however when checking out from the hotel I noticed the price of the meal was $50.00 than what I signed for. Further investigation found after we closed the bill and left, a $50 bottle of wine was added. Sheraton hotel dealt with this immediately. I will stick to Rainbow Room."

  • "Thank you for a wonderful meal. Our server Terry was exceptional and made us feel very welcome! Thank you Terry for assisting with the wine pairing. Our appetizers (mushroom risotto and scallops) were outstanding. Our mains (Steak frites + pork tenderloin) were prepared perfectly! The ambience was exactly what we were looking for on a romantic evening out for a birthday/holiday celebration. We will definitely return very soon!"

  • "Excited by the prospect of a night in Niagara at a popular and well talked up restaurant, We left Windows by Jamie Kennedy, disappointed. My Husband's steak was barely warm and very plain. The frites were not something he would normally enjoy with a steak for a fancy meal. Both plates barely had any vegetables on it and my bacon wrapped pork medallions came without a side and was also not very warm. We did not order dessert, we had 3 alcoholic beverages between us and the meal exceeded $150. Even with our $40 coupon it was not worth the money. The waitress was very friendly."

  • "We chose to dine at Windows based on the view from the Sheraton On The Falls, and I expected that given the excellent view, the restaurant would not need to try hard to fill the seats night after night. We shared a baby spinach and arugula salad and the scallops as appatizers. The salad was excellent, full of flavor and texture, while the scallops were very good and prepared well, but were somewhat dominated by the intense sauce. For entrees, we had the pacific halibut and the peppercorn steak, both of which were prepared beautifully. I'd strongly recommend both. The chefs' grilling of steaks is true to description, I'd recommend checking that your expectation of "rare" or "well done" matches up. I'd strongly recommend!"

  • "From the food to the service to the view.....all amazing! We started with the bread....two kinds of fresh warm & home-made with salted butter, followed by two appetizers; buttercup soup and fried oysters (my wife and shared them). Main courses were broiled halibut with tomato jam and salmon with a killer sauce. All of the flavours were amazing and worked separtely and together. The food was served at the right time & served hot. Our waiter, Terry, was excellent. He really knew his stuff and will pair anything to a great glass of wine. Of course the view was second to none and should be done at night to get that romantic vibe. Overall...we were completely satisified and will definately be back."
