Was recommended to go here by a friend and I must say, me and my hubby were very, very pleased. From The calamari strips, to the poke, even our drinks were made perfect. Finally when dinner came, it was outstanding. I had the scallops with mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus....was made perfectly. I could not complain about anything. Everything from food to staff was great. I highly recommend!!

At a restaurant touting its seafood, especially one on the water, one would never expect seafood to come to the table overcooked. The fish was dry as a bone. Only the scallops were OK. By contrast, the fresh steamed green beans and carrots were so hardly cooked at all they were crunch hard and not even warm. Service was bad as well. It took 25 minutes to be served the first glass of wine.

Made the reservation for 6PM several days B4 our trip from Thousand Oaks to San Diego. Was actually 45 minutes early , so called from the freeway to ask for a earlier reservation and found out there was no reservation! Glad we were early because the window seats go fast. Who dropped the ball? Not sure but they had nothing from Open Table. I guess call first when you are on your way, right?

If you're looking for an evening of dining on the waterfront, look no further than the Dana Point Wind And Sea restaurant. The menu is quite extensive and pricing is moderate. I had the fish and chips, which was quite good, and my husband had the grilled salmon; which he stated was excellent. How can you go wrong with great view, excellent food, and moderate prices?

The seating was immediate as was the attention from the waiter. I took my 21 yr old son and 13 yr old daughter. My son had the ahi and said it was the best seafood he has ever had and my daughter who is typically very picky was very happy with the seafood pasta. I had Macadamia crusted Mahi which was to die for. Our waiter was absolutely the best and took time to converse and make us all feel extremely welcomed. By far one my best dining experiences in a very long time. We will definitely go back. All meals coffee, soda and desert for 3 just about $120 but well worth it. There are lower priced items as well.

Burnt sea bass at $38 per person. Encrusted does not mean burnt on the bottom. If I didn't have guests with me, I would have returned the meal and left. I will leave them with the ability to make eggs for breakfast. The restaurant is at a beautiful location... but the food does not match.

On my friend's b'day, 3 of us had a nice bottle of Riesling to go with our shrimp platters. The lightly beer-battered prawns taste like shrimp should taste! Our server (Kiddoo) was very sweet and made my friend feel special. It's nice having the choice of side dishes & I always request cole slaw & sliced tomatoes. It was Sat at 1pm, but not crowded inside, so it was quiet & relaxing; being a gorgeous day, it was crowded & noisy on the outdoor patio. We split an ab-fab comp Mud Pie (huge) for the b'day girl. Only thing that marred the experience was the 2 young hostesses (very warm & friendly) did not check me in for the OT res, so I had the rigamarole of verifying I honored the res. 2nd restaurant that has happened to me in the past month.

Beautiful day, wonderful food and an amazing view. We enjoyed our lunch and the food very much. Service was so-so. Slow to refill drinks. Asked for soy sauce for my poke appetizer and didn't get it until 15 minutes had passed. Everyone else was done with their appetizers by then. All in all, though, a great day.

First, the food was "fine." But, I was expecting a much FRESHER menu, with some grilled fish and not heavy sauces and odd little touches. I love swordfish, but the menu said with a "banana coconut sauce" -- ??? Another fish was coated with nuts then topped with a fruit salsa, and the shrimp was going to be "beer battered." I ordered the grilled salmon because it seemed like a fresh, light choice -- but it was overcooked. My baked potato was overcooked by at least half an hour, the glasses for our water and our wine were not clean (they were cloudy and arrived with smudges from LOTS of people's fingerprints). The service was good and the wine list was very acceptable, but I don't think we will be dining there again. Very sorry --

Aside from the Ahi, which I prefer raw, the food was poor. More specifically, the green beans looked and tasted as if they were days old and were cooked more than once. My guest indicated that the mozzarella on her salad was not fresh. However, she enjoyed the view. I can say that the drinks were good so I would recommend going here for drinks and the view but avoid the dinners.

I travel 100% and rarely get to see my peers, so an opportunity to eat dinner with my manager led me to Wind & Sea in Dana Point. Originally planned to eat inside, in the main room, but once I saw the outdoor lounge (around to the left from the main entry) I had to eat out there. What a good choice; the boss sat facing toward the harbor inlet and enjoyed a great view. Of course, the food was great and not too expensive. It was very pleasant all around and the boss commented afterward that I made a good choice.

I chose Wind & Sea because of a previous experience having lunch there with my mother with a view of the harbor. Some family was driving up the coast to see us and I chose Wind & Sea because of the atmosphere and view. I was not disappointed and the family members all enjoyed their lunch and we had a nice dining experience. We had some laughs watching people on paddle boards and kayaks outside the window. The United States soccer team was playing in the World Cup, so the bar was a bit noisy, but it also created a fun atmosphere.

We really like this restaurant and will certainly go there again. On this particular time our waiter wasn't that attentive and didn't get our orders right. Two of us had the clam chowder and it was only room temperature so we had to send it back. Also, although we were in the dinning room we were too close to the bar and so it was noisy (I don't hold that against the restaurant--it's just something to beware). All this being said, we consider the poor service and lukewarm chowder to be a fluke and will certainly go there again.

When we made our reservation, they would not hold a window table, but could request one once we arrived at the restaurant. When we arrived, we did request a table by the window and the hostess said that was possible, but then stated that they were being held for parties of 5 or more. When we were got to our table there were 3 open window seats and the ones that weren't open most had 3-4 people seated at them. We were seated at a large half booth, which was too large for 4 of us and not a good view table at all. One man that had come in ahead of us was complaining about the same problem was told the same thing and after we were seated, he was escorted to one of the window tables. As window tables opened, 3-4 people were seated at them!

The food was good and plenty. Our service was great. We were talking about the long brunch lines. We suggest that the outdoor dining has it own set of buffet or a better flow for the ones given. One person was holding up the line with buffet items. The omelet lines moved like clock work. We watched from our seating and there had to be a better placement for the flow. Second, we sat next to three empty tables of eight where we could of been out of the way of the people in the bar area (free seating/no reservation) and the oatmeal/muffin bar. People were constantly bumping into us. I would not come for brunch at the Wind & Sea.It was not comfortable and other restaurants in the harbor have a better/easier atmosphere, and not a cattle call.
