I am new to Winston Salem and was delighted to find it. A friend and I went there for dinner. What a treat! We dined inside because of rainy weather; however, there were diners outside on their porch. The food is freshly prepared in their open kitchen concept and this added to the ambience. The wine list was small, but well thought out. My friend had flounder, and I had chicken. It was good, but the presentations were slightly convoluted and messy. Our desserts, however, were fantastic; some of them made in-house. The service was outstanding. If you want to use NYC restaurants as an indicator, Willow would meet the NYC fine restaurant level but also a good value.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Brunch, Great ServiceHad Mother's Day brunch at Willow's Bistro, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The waiter was friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful. All five of us, from meat and seafood eaters to vegan, were able to find something interesting on the menu - and then work with the waiter for just the right amount of customization to make each plate exactly what we wanted. The food was exceptional, the suggested drinks complemented the food, and the attention to detail just added to the experience. The only thing out of all of it that is a little different than I would prefer is the bacon. The 2 or 3 times I've had it, it's a little on the crispy/burnt/black side versus what I prefer. Stopped in for a late lunch on a Saturday and sat outside on their deck. So many great items it was very hard to choose.
