Diner Reviews
  • "The food from salad through dessert were excellent. Our server, Fred, was attentive, knowledgable and made the evening a big hit."

  • "Willow is a lovely little place in North Hills that's thankfully far from the traffic and hustle of the main drags. Food and wine always good. Our server was excellent."

  • "Willow,to me has degraded a little in service level. There were obscure and incorrect add ons that made no sense to me when paying for the meal. The waitress had no good answer when questioned. Hummmm! The good news... The food is good and portioned well. I will go back when the patio is open. The patio and food together are good together..."

  • "Food was very flavorful. I had the beet salad and a "side" (enough for a full meal!) of polenta with greens. Both were excellent. The homemade focaccia with olive oil (complimentary) was addictive. Wines by the glass were limited, and they were out of the one I selected. Dessert (some type of chocolate cakes with mousse) was also very good and easy to share (two little chocolate cakes, two dollops of mousse, two white chocolate decorations). Service was friendly and attentive, waitress (Kilene) offered helpful suggestions."

  • "We moved to the area a few years ago and looked for that special place to go for good food and GREAT service. We found it at the Willow. Try it you won't be sorry."

  • "we were looking for a quite night out without our kids. what we got was a loud room full of kids running around. We do not have a problem at all with children as we have 4. But for a date night out without kids, we don't want to listen to it. They should put families with kids in a different area of restaurant away from couples looking for a quite dining experience. Food was just ok for the price. Service was very friendly and knowledgeable. BUT...we will never return here. if we are going to shell out this kind of money there are much more romantic and quite places with much better food in and around the city"

  • "Our server was terrible. He was brut and inconsiderate, often interrupting our conversation without courtesy and reaching over each person while serving some item. He wasn't friendly or particularly warm. My husband tipped him 21% but he deserved nothing more than 10%."

  • "I invited a group of my friends to try Willow, and they loved it! A lot of the food was new to them and it was a much different experience than they were used to, and no one was disappointed by the delicious food and drinks or by the elegant environment. Excellent time!"

  • "Willow has very good food. A nice variety and unique dishes too. The drinks were very good, excellent lemon martini. Above all however, was the service! We were never rushed, always covered on drinks and extremely well taken care of."

  • "Went to celebrate our anniversary. As always service was very efficient, food was great, very good selection of wines and great ambiance in front of the fireplace on a chilly March evening."

  • "We enjoyed lunch on a weekday. Server did not have much personality but the food was ok. It had been some time since I had dined her and had always loved their crab cake. It was not as good as the first few yrs they had been open. Side of vegetables were ruined when they appeared to have been sauteed in alot of butter vs steaming."

  • "I'be driven by Willow many times, but am seldom able to afford higher;-end restaurants. When a reason to really celebrate (and splurge) arose, I thought we'd give it a try. And I am so glad we did, as everything exceeded our expectations! The food, from beginning (brisket tacos) to end (chocolate somethin-somethin), and everything in between (crabcakes for my sweetheart, filet for me), was deliciously and beautifully prepared. The wait staff was attentive, without being intrusive. I could not have been more pleased, and look forward to returning."

  • "Very clever ambiance with dark woods and multiple large rooms. Enjoyed the dining experience and very robust beer and wine selection. Very attentive wait staff and our water was kept full, plates removed, and beer flowing. We have not been here in years. This will be a monthly spot for us."

  • "Good food. Very nice presentation. dessert was excellent. Our party had the Chocolate Chiffon and the Pots de Creme which were creatively presented and very tasty. Staff was friendly and service good. The only think I'd improve is the menu binders are looking a bit worn."

  • "We have been coming to your restaurant for years and love the feeling of the adult atmosphere. Don't like when other patrons use the dining areas as a playground for young children. We are parents as well but would never behave I. A manner to ruin nights out for other patrons. Disappointed with the menu selections but was able to fine alternatives. We will still visit just not as often. Service was great!"

  • "Love the service, ambiance & the gnocchi was great, but the pretzel bun was toasted & became hard, plus my medium burger arrived well done..(no pink)... Still love the food here..especially greens and polenta!!"

  • "Why would a gentleman be seated right next to a table of three women who were heavy into conversation. The restaurant was empty and he could have been seated a few tables away without a problem to anyone. Hadn't been there for awhile and it will be a long time before I agree to go back."

  • "Three of us went one evening in the dead of winter. We were seated next to a luxurious fireplace in a room with 4 tables. 3 of 4 tables were occupied, but we still had a pleasant conversation without feeling we were eavesdropping on others. One friend had a medium-rare steak, which was cooked perfectly. Another had chicken, and he swooned over the crusty cranberry glaze. I had a seafood stew, whose sauce was tremendous. One friend had a hot, chocolatey dessert drink, and another friend and I shared a chocolate mouse with brownie, berry compote, and white chocolate lace. It was as delicious as it sounds. As we left, we saw other rooms that were more casual or more romantic, whereas ours was more cozy, which was perfect for our party."

  • "This is the second time I've returned to Willow. After such a great meal the first time, I suggested to my friends. The short rib tacos and crab cakes are fabulous! Had them the first time and returned to have them again. Our waitress was exceptional. Truly enjoyed the evening. I'll be back..."

  • "Had pumpkin agnoletti and ribeye both were very good. But the best was strawberry cheese cake for dessert! Server was very friendly and helpful. Atmosphere says business casual, met expectations. Great place for occasions. We went to celebrate her birthday and we would like to go again for either another special day or maybe when we feel like eating at a little fancier place."

  • "We dined here on Valentine's Day evening and had a wonderful time. Despite how busy the place was, the ambiance was delightful (it was even quiet enough for conversation!) and our server was attentive. Our plates were presented beautifully and the food very well done. The crab cakes are indeed a house specialty -- delicious. The price per entree may not permit very frequent visits to the restaurant but we do look forward to dining here again for another special occasion."

  • "I was really impressionned by the welcome to the parking I like the position of the resto; faraway from Down town, best place for dating, Very quiet, VIP people, nice waitress. In short I had fun really and would like to come back again in the very next opportunity."

  • "I took my girlfriend here for Valentines day. I have nothing bad to say about it. The food was good, I've had better and I've had worse. I felt a little close to the people next to me, almost like I should of struck up a conversation with them. That didn't bother me but I could see how it might bother other people."

  • "My husband and I have been to Willow 3-4 times. I have yet to be disappointed. The menu is excellent, the service is professional and the ambience is romantic. I would love their recipe for crab cakes. The are absolutely delicious and I would go out of my way for them. The only complaint is that the lighting was too dim. I requested a table by the fireplace when I made the reservation. I didn't realize there were two fireplaces. We were seated in the corner next to fp; however we couldn't see the fireplace from where we were seated. Also, this particular corner was so dark we could not read the menu. I had to get a flashlight out of my bag to decide what to order. The other side of the room was adequately lit."

  • "I visited Willow for the first time this weekend as I was going to be in the area and wanted an upscale dinning experience. There were no issues with the reservation. Parking was a little tight. I was pleased with the ambience and atmosphere. Though full, tables were spaced enough to provide a sense of privacy. The wait staff was excellent, knew the menu, and provided recommendations. The waiter that attended our table made very accomodation and was helpful without being intrusive. The food was excellent and left no room for complaint. Overall, I was extremely pleased with the experience and would gladly return."

  • "Service was excellent, however, we had hoped for a more memorable meal. My crab cakes (a signature dish, I'm told) were OK in taste, but the crab cakes and asparagus had been burnt and a little crispy. Two of the steaks we ordered, although cooked to medium as requested, were rather fatty and tough."

  • "We arrived at Willow on time for our reservation. Were promptly seated at a cozy table for four. 15 minutes later (yes 15) Wade our waiter showed up to take a drink order. 12 minutes later our drinks showed and Wade a server of 8 years said he would be right back to take app order. 10 more minutes no Wade. Wade had 2 other tables he was waiting on in the 1st floor, they seemed anxious also. We ordered lobster roll bites (ok) and antipasti. Dinner was 2 fish specials a crab cake and munich burger. They were all average. We took Wade on hid favorite desert the butterscotch pot de creme. It actually had no taste. How this place stays in business is a mystery!!"
