  • "We started with a number of small plates, one better than the next. The menu offered a wonderful Variety for our group of carnivores and vegetarians. Loved the heirloom tomato salad and the roasted cauliflower. We then had the pasta special (orecchiette with sea urchin and mushrooms) and the fried chicken (melt in your mouth delicious) Our server Alex was very attentive and helpful. Loved this place. Highly recommend it!"

  • "We had relatives visiting from out-of-town with their kids and wanted to treat them. He is a food enthusiast. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire evening, starting with the cocktails - highly recommend. Enough variety to please everyone and every taste. They even prepared special alcohol-free cocktails for the kids. They were a hit. New chef in charge. Andrew was great recommending our wine for the evening (Dolcetto D'Alba). For starters, recommend sharing short rib meatballs, cajun shrimp, braised octopus. For the main course we recommend their signature and feature fried chicken, but also the black bass and the hanger steak. The only negative about the end was lack of desserts. Hopefully that will change soon. Will still go back."

  • "The food at Willow Road was quite good (I had the cajun shrimp, grilled octopus, and asparagus apps). The place has a casual feel, even though it's clear that a lot of thought and creativity went into the design and decor. Really good cocktails, too. I would recommend this place to anyone under 60 (due to the somewhat limiting noise level and dark lighting)."

  • "We went for my mothers birthday. Staff was amazing and very accommodating for a larger group. Food was great. And for family from out of town that is not too adventurous with food, the plates were a great balance of traditional and new takes on typical brunch food. Try the french toast and fried chicken. Highly recommended. "

  • "I have visited Willow Road about 5 times since last year. This Mother's day we decided to go. Im hoping they were just under staffed, but our food was also inedible. My sister-in-law had a flank steak (in my opinion can be hit or miss at every and any restaurant) she had two bites and could not finish it. I had the steak burger, only ate half as it tasted as if the meat was bad. They also de-boned my mother in Law's branzino and her first bite included a very large bone. Though the fish was amazing in everyones opinion. I will definitely give them another chance but I hope whatever happened that day never occurs again."

  • "I eat out in Manhattan once weekly or more so its not that I'm a stranger to high prices, but Willow Road's pricing is an insult to its patrons. For example, one of our brunch party ordered the fried chicken. Delivered to the table were three small pieces of fried chicken with nothing else - literally nothing else - for $18. Another ordered the avocado toast. Here, for $9 were 4 small triangles of toast smeared with what appeared to be guacamole, naked on a plate. A glass of grapefruit juice which appeared and tasted to be canned or bottled, rather than fresh squeezed, was $6. I am sorry, but this is really outrageous. Shame on you, Willow Road."

  • "Food is pretty decent and servers are nice, however, this is not a kid friendly place. I called in advance to make reservation to ensure to they can accommodate a baby in stroller plus a toddler in high chair. However, when we got there, the table wasn't ready and we had to wait 45 min. The table setup they ended up giving us were not ideal and the kids were too tired and had a melt down by that point."

  • "We chose Willow Road for a Saturday morning brunch based our plan to spend time in the area that day. Thankfully we were in no hurry . It took far longer than expected to get our food. The portion size was meager. The food quality was good. The taste was ok, nothing special. Overall, not a good food value. We left thinking next time we would try the other option in that building."

  • "I'm still trying to figure out when NY lost its class. Nice restaurants should not be sending you an email that you will lose your reservation if you don't show up in 15 minutes. Those messages should only be sent by the Crowne Plaza's of the world. Nice restaurants should never stress out their patrons for not having the full party present, or one or two people missing, who are running late, which is normal. Until downtown NY regains its class, I choose to be treated like a human being (rather than cattle) as I deserve in Midtown on Park Avenue. What a shame for Batali and Cilicchio and those who I do think have the right vision in mind, but have failed in their execution, as everyone is walking away with a stressed-out experience."

  • "Went with a couple of girlfriends. We had a nice bottle of wine and ordered both small and large plates to share. The Caesar salad was presented in a way I hadn't seen before with a knife and the whole leaves for us to cut. It was unique and delicious. We ordered the shrimp and the pesto pasta. All our dishes were tasty and we enjoyed each one. Both of my friends had never been here before and were very pleased with the cozy atmosphere."

With so many restaurant options in NYC, I probably wouldn't visit this restaurant again, just because nothing made it stand apart from the many other restaurants in that area. BUT, I would recommend trying it once if you're in the area."

  • "We made 9pm reservations and showed up early especially because I received an e-mail that if we were 10 minutes late we would lose our table and be placed on the waiting list. When we arrived the hostess told us our table is just finishing dessert should't be much longer. When 9:30 pm hit we were still not seated we did not get to our table until 9:45pm. Our food wasn't outstanding by any means our guests ordered the branzino sadly we watched them pick out bones the entire time while eating it. It wasn't an overall enjoyable experience and we all thought hey handled our reservation time poorly. What is the point of making a reservation if you do not get sat until 45 minutes later. Our server was the only highlight of the night"

  • "It seems this place wishes to be trendy and cool, yet forgets that a restaurant is not a club where to hang out. They play loud hip hop to the point you can't talk to the person across from you and the food is one step above Applebee's. Prices are moderate to high as well. I had high hopes for this restaurant as it seemed unique to the meat packing district but instead it served mediocre food while trying to be an ultra cool spot."

  • "The decor is great and while the menu is minimal, it's different enough and made for sharing, so you feel like to have enough variety to choose from. It's a great spot in a block with many box-box options. Smaller, more intimate feel without being too date-like. We were a group of four and shared all of our plates - which I would recommend. Highlights were the fried chicken, burger and caesar salad."

  • "Had a great evening. Went there with my wife and son. Started with Matt at the bar with great suggestions(Drunken Uncle, and Cucumber). Then it went on to the main part of the evening. We started with the ribs, the octopus and the hamachi. Loved the fact that they brought all the appetizers individually one after the other. In each case the flavors were amazing. For the main course we had the NY steak, the fried chicken and the burger. Again great flavors in each case. Nothing overwhelming, just right. To accompany all that we had the Malbec which was great with all the dishes. Service was great. Never felt rushed or pushed. Highly recommend."

  • "We had a really great meal based on the recommendations from the server. The only one thing I would discourage is the bone marrow plate. If you're familiar with it, then you will love it. But if this is something new to you, then I would suggest holding off. I'm sure it taste great if this is something you're used to, but since this was the first time, we really didn't enjoy it. Will go back!!"

  • "Had brunch on Sunday at 2pm. Reservations. Place was packed. had to wait at bar. No big deal. Of course with a 14.00 drink made it that much tougher to swallow. But the Chef was really friendly and gave us a basket of chips that they make, which are fantastic. Had the hamburger which was fantastic.....but it was more in line with a slider and priced as a regular meal. Should advertise it as a tapa not and entree. I'm from the South and loved that they offered boiled peanuts....but with old bay seasoning!!! Really! No self respecting Southerner would use old bay in any thing!"

  • "If you are willing to wait for a table, this restaurant is fantastic! Loved everything we ordered. The sweet tea and lemon fried chicken was excellent, as well as the grilled ribeye and burger. The cocktails were unique and fun. Our party would definitely return!"
